YESSS THE PEN WRITING! One thing I miss about school is when the teacher would make the class go quiet and you’d hear everyone’s pens writing
and when everyone's writing an exam. good ol' daysss
Especially when there is a test that you never expected halfway through the class LOL
When you had a test and everyone was writing aggressively except you because you knew nothing lol
This is how I discovered my ASMR, though I had no name for it at the time. It was fourth grade, circa 2001. I called it "focusing on focusing" as the tingle would be triggered any time I paid attention to someone quietly doing their work. I thought it was some sort of empathetic reverberation. I did NOT get a lot done during quiet work times after that.

I work in two little libraries and a love my job. I miss my work now the libraries are closed because of Corona virus. Your videos help me a lot. I listen these sounds and I am again in a library. thank you very much

I miss going to libraries. I used to go to the one near me everyday. Now that’s it’s closed I miss it so much. Library ambiences have been helping me cope with it closed but I hope they will open again someday so I can read and chat with the librarians 😩📚

I love the writing sounds, I listen to asmr so it felt like the perfect mix of atmosphere + asmr for me, and those two are the only things I can listen to while studying. Music, even lofi, doesnt help me concentrated

I miss a lot going to the libraries. Those were moments of complete peace and concentration, moments of productive work. Library is the place where you can get to know all those misteries that people and us haven't discovered yet. Books are the pathway to them. They are the path to a wonderful and succesful life.

I'm sorry to say that my library experience isn't like this anymore - people think nothing of talking above a whisper even when people around them are trying to read or work, and when my friend complained, the staff shrugged and said, "Times have changed." That's why I appreciate this so much...

Then school lets out and kids are running wild in there because some parents use the public library as a free babysitter until they get off from work.

Life has been rough. Listening to this while daydreaming gives me time to explore a different world with more life and colors than the world I am in.
I love this, It makes me miss the library so much, but it helps as background noise. Also it's not an insane length, long enough so as not to have to replay constantly but short enough so I can be doing homework for a reasonable amount of time.

I've been to many MANY study ambience videos but I keep returning to this one! the white noise, pencil sounds, footsteps, page turning, it's somehow everything I want in a study video 😊 I like changing up videos because it's motivating, but I realized I was looking for videos just like this one and just gave up and ended up coming back here haha. thank you for making it!! (I also love the one with the typing sounds and the one similar to this one but only an hour long, I would really appreciate you making more of these, thanks again :) )

This actually elicited a visceral emotional reaction in me, like a deep nostalgia for something I hadn't realized I was missing.
Quand j'ai vécu et étudié à Prague, j'allais à la bibliothèque chaque semaine et j'avais hâte de voir exactement ce beau silence. Kids today will grow up never knowing what a "real" library was. Going into town to look something up - browsing the shelves or asking a librarian for help - taking the book out and home with you so you could finally read it and find out what you were looking for. Or having to order the book and come back a week later. The anticipation and excitement knowing that today you will pick up your book. Now we get everything in milliseconds via a smartphone.
I remember the smell of our old library and going there as a kid, sitting on the small kiddy tables to look through the books I'd chosen, and I remember the label at the front with all the date stamps on of other people who had read it. I miss those days. I work at a Uni and when I started, the library was full of bookshelves. Now it's an empty "social space" with sofas and a coffee machine, with only a small area that has actual books in it downstairs. The internet is both a blessing and a curse.

@@WinterWhale well on top of that. i work during the days and my library is only open during those days plus part time hours on saturday. so thats another reason why i come here. besides my library is a shared building with the police station. and all the cops in my town know my family. and not for the reason you would think.
