One thing about why his gunshots went unheard. A 6.35mm pistol, aka .25 auto, is extremely small and underpowered. Though it was considered adequate in the early 1900s, it would definitely take a well placed shot to deliver a lethal blow at greater distances than say 15 feet, or ~4.5 meters. The opening shot is the very first time in a gazillion shots of Hitler's house that I have seen it from a straight on angle! Usually it's a side angle where the steps go up so you can't really see the expanse of his remodelling. This shows the patio on the other side really well and that immense picture window in front. I have never agreed with Hitler on anything BUT, he certainly knew how to situate his home for maximum view and I would have picked the exact same spot except I would have a single pane of glass not a multi-paned window. I think it was changed because I remember seeing a shot out the window and it only had the one big pane.
