I like that all of Radagon's children were able to defeat him (Radahn, Rykard, Malenia). Also, it's super interesting to see how bosses that can destroy a player can perform poorly against others who are seemingly weaker. In the case of Radagon, you can see his weakness is primarily bosses that are either really agressive (like Malenia, Maliketh and Godfrey), or bosses that don't stagger easily so his relatively slow attacks don't phase them much (like Placidusax and Rykard).
Tbh maliketh being the bane of any boss is so lore fitting it makes me giggle. Also remember Ranni is the only character that can look at something and it dies.
Or bosses can't be grabbed, only playercharacter-model's can. A pity I did not saw him grab Gideon and treated him like the anvil this traitor deserved.

@@danielfuentes2999 Radagon, unlike Marika, fully champions and supports the Erdtree -- indeed, he was created by it. Morgott's "curse" is only a curse because of the will of the Erdtree that Radagon carried out, that anyone blessed by the Crucible would be labeled Omen and shunned for all time. Despite being the rightful heir, Morgott was shunned for his whole life due to being labeled Omen. Radagon is at an unfortunate disadvantage against a lot of these bosses, considering how many of them resist Holy damage. I feel like Radagon deserved his own dedicated second phase and healthbar. Something to make him a bit more intimidating. Like if the second phase switched to Marika herself, like a Godfrey/Hoarah Loux situation
If anything, I'm actually more impressed by the fact that Radagon's ranged attacks work far beyond the size of his own arena. As there would have been little need to program him to be able to hit targets that far away.

Having now watched it, I was more wrong than right, but it's easy to see why it fell out that way. Radagon is a slow, plodding boss who hits like a truck and has really high resistances to everything except fire. He pounds other slow, plodding bosses into the ground, but any boss starting around the midgame that's fast and aggressive has a fair chance. I find it interesting that the bosses who most reliably killed him were his own children and the entities banned by the Order (fire giants, godslayers). Lore meets mechanics.

He'd be at a huge disadvantage since he relies on his arena. When he fights in other bosses arenas he doesn't climb. Godfrey destroyed him in his arena but lost since hourah loux is designed to fight the player and none of his attacks work properly on something else.
@@pinkvillajuice Godfrey is literally anti poise boss. every attack can cause a stagger or a stun immediately. and Maliketh is a glass cannon despite him being very very strong boss.
I was always under the impression that, at least in the canon proper, once you re-release the Rune of Death, Marika's Grace can't bring you back to life proper anymore. True death being returned to the world presumably stops the psuedo-death-into-reincarnation thing that the Erdtree and the Golden Order had going on and that Marika seems to be speeding up for the Tarnished in particular. This would be why Gideon and Godfrey- to whom Marika's Grace was also extended, being just human, Tarnished competitors for the Elden Lord title like you- stay dead after you do them in. _"Champions knew what was at stake. Indeed, that is what made them Champions."_ -Maliketh's Armor
@@vogunBurgundy Destined death is only reinstated once you become the Elden lord and restore the Elden ring. So technically you would only be able to die a real death after completing the game (if they allowed you to still play after choosing an ending, which is probably why they don’t allow you to do so).
What makes you say that? There's an entire huge cutscene _right after_ you defeat Maliketh that says exactly the opposite, far as I can tell. _"The Rune of Death is unbound, and the Lands Between are shrouded by Death's dark fate. But the flames will also burn the impenetrable thorns..."_ It makes a big deal of everyone all throughout the Lands Between looking up in disbelief, as the fire that had been set to the Erdtree has begun to _actually spread_ and consume it. The whole deal with getting Destined Death after lighting the tree on fire was that unsealing and reinstating it is what would allow for the Flame of Ruin to actually kill the Erdtree, hence why only after that point does it burn into ashes, and the path to its core open. The Tarnished doesn't personally need the power of Destined Death to kill a God- that's what Hewg was there for.
22:15 - 22:24 it's like an anime battle with Radagon dodging giant dragon's attacks within a hair breathe. Also at this point I'm starting to believe no boss can beat Maliketh.
Malenia *can* beat Maliketh if RNG is on her side, but they're long odds. Basically needs to land two full dances very close together to do enough damage and self-heal enough to survive burn stacks. Not sure who else really could since he spends so much time in the air throwing melt projectiles. Maybe Placidusax if he gets very lucky on teleport timings to dodge some volleys, maaaaybe Elden Beast if it can bomb him from long range long enough but it seems doubtful. Godskin Duo might be a viable winner since their individual max health isn't super high, which means the burn doesn't do as much on its own, and they could split his attention while doing max health damage back with fire. They all seem like underdogs though.
I'm sure Radahn could do it without too much issue, but Idk how you'd get them to fight. Since Maliketh's attacks involve him bouncing off the walls and pillars of his arena, I don't know if you could put him in Radahn's arena and have his AI still work right. And as wide as Radahn is, Idk how well he'd be able to navigate Maliketh's arena. I could see him getting stuck on the pillars pretty frequently. Plus, the walls/pillars might mess up his meteor attack. Fire Giant and maybe Placid could also do it, depending on RNG. Basically, I think Maliketh bodies all the smaller bosses, and the bigger bosses that might be able to give him a run for his money are too big to fit in his arena.
@@Vorael If you start Maliketh vs Radahn, Radahn probably wins with meteor. However, if you start Beast Clergyman against Radahn, I'm pretty sure he gets Radahn to meteor first, so that damage is eaten by the phase transition. Phase 2 Radahn doesn't have a prayer against Maliketh. Honestly the only way Radahn beats any major boss is with either long range sniping (this is how he wins against Malenia if you start her at max range, she doesn't close the gap; if they start close he loses hard), or with the phase-transition meteor. In a straight up fight he's a big, slow-swinging punching bag.
The Radagon vs Rennala ended cinematic as fuck. Both are casters to some extent and when she reached out as she died it looked like she was caressing his face. Pretty sad fight lore-wise too.
Considering how easy Renalla is as a boss, she did pretty well against her Ex-Husband, it would have been really cool if she managed to summon more of her Summons against him. Fighting a DRAGON and a Mage! Super cool.
Yeah, the sweetings were targeting Garden of Eyes for half of the first phase, so they weren't able to really stagger Radagon or buy time until more of them appeared on the perimeter. I was curious to see if Radagon could block the tombstones or if he'd be fighting a sweeting and get clobbered hard. Phase 2 needs a good Phase 1 to beat Radagon. Any videos of Phase 2 solo'ing have the HP doubled or more.
Wouldn't agree on that. Radagon is a distinct entity from the Elden Beast, so the Elden Beast is arguably a different boss rather than a phase. The only other boss I can think of that also has something like this going on is Rennala because Phase 2 Rennala is technically an illusion created by Ranni. Changing some tactics just isn't quite the same thing as having a literal god take over for you.
@@PsychoWarper Then why does beast clergyman and maliketh face 1 Radagon instead of 2 full health ones? I think it depends on whether there is a break between the fights. Its one fight. I know this is a very small and stupid thing to argue about, but Malenia has 2 forms, Maliketh has 2, Godfrey has 2, and so does Radagon, it just has a different name. Its especially no different from Maliketh.
One thing we gotta remember though, this is Radagon as a husk, a shadow of his former self. Imagine him at his full potential or even half like some of the other demigods
Probably nothing too crazy either actually. Miriel was always puzzled why someone of Radagon's calibre was able to become Elden Lord. So maybe just about the same level as he was right now. Maybe a bit more health, but offensive wise, likely the same or even worse.
@@jellydamgood well as you said, turtle pope may have been confused by why it happened, but Radagon still became the second Elden Lord, regardless of anything else, its absurd to claim that the shattered, crumbling husk that's been suspended in the air, skewered and crucified since the shattering happened, would be the same strength or even weaker than when he was the Elden Lord, who claimed the power of the Elden Ring... He was the Elden Ring you understand? When Marika shattered it, it shattered both of them too, that's why they're literally broken into pieces. When Marika chose Godfrey as her consort and the first Elden Lord, he was a fierce but mortal human warrior named Hoarah Loux, when she made him Elden Lord he defeated the giants and defeated the Storm Lord on his own. OP said imagine Radagon at his full potential, well that is Radagon in possession of the Elden Ring before it shattered, the demi gods are so powerful yet they own bear shards of it. Hope I helped you to understand
@@masrr3678 What are you on about? His theoratical full potential is when he was still a part of Marika. But since we are discussing Radagon as a seperate entity that means we can't include him re combining with Marika, as that makes it Marika's full potential, not Radagon's. And we know how powerful Marika is so there's no arguments there. And if we are going to scale him without Marika then he's going to be subpar at best. The crumbling husk of him by the end is the strongest version of him, because prior to that he does not hold the Elden ring, and would never have been allowed to, not until Marika defied the greater will and the two halves of Marika started to fight itself. Radagon being made Elden Lord had little to do with his strength, but more of his absolute loyalty to the Elden Ring and the fact that he's Marika's missing piece.

Rykard does fire damage which Radagon is weak to
Tbh maliketh being the bane of any boss is so lore fitting it makes me giggle. Also remember Ranni is the only character that can look at something and it dies.

The Erdtree blessed him with an (utterly batshit amount of) grace as a self defense mechanism during the shattering, and since this was the only sort of positive reinforcement Morgott ever received in his entire life, he swore to defend the Erdtree tooth and nail... even though it's the whole reason he was shunned.

This is literally the only thing I could think of while watching the fight.
But the flames will also burn the impenetrable thorns..."_
It makes a big deal of everyone all throughout the Lands Between looking up in disbelief, as the fire that had been set to the Erdtree has begun to _actually spread_ and consume it.
Pretty fitting if the guy who wields literal Death can put everyone down isn't it?

Wouldn't agree on that. Radagon is a distinct entity from the Elden Beast, so the Elden Beast is arguably a different boss rather than a phase.

0:18 "I can see the eye of the tiger! Who's the boss? Yes, You are! You're gonna smash him! Go! Go! Go!" said Patches to the Soldier.
19:34 I was kinda hoping that would connect, I'd love to know how much damage the one-shot grab actually does lol
You can't grab radagon?
@@Lightskinwarrior yeah, no shit? Which is why it didn't work? Which is why I left the comment in the first place since it wouldn't work and I would like to see it work?
@@Ultrakrill2411 calm down bro I was just seeing if you knew that bosses can't be grabbed as long as their not tarnished and I think you can grab blaidd
Also: that grab isn't a true one shot. Stars of Darkness's is a one shot, Naturalborn is not. I took him on at level 118+25 on my first encounter, and the grab did not kill me. It just deals obscene damage
I think the fight that intrigued me the most was Godfrey vs Radagon, and with it the implications. Since they’re both 1st and 2nd elden lord, and since radagon is technically marika, does that mean godfrey is stronger that his wife? Or am i just reading into this too much lmao
Dont take gameplay as lore. Lore wise Radagon claps everyone here besides maybe Maliketh and the Elden Beast itself
@@fishnutz5196 Also considering it isn't actually Radagon we see. But Elden beast controlling his body. The Radagon that existed is dead. Real Radagon might be more powerful.
I think Marika is stronger than either Radagon (as an independent entity) and Godfrey
According to Melina's retellings, Marika even, when she expelled Godfrey, called him "my lord". So it's more than likely.
@@vindicator879 If look at their seals, then "Marika" inherited magical powers from the original Marika, while "Radagon" inherited physical powers, but in the description of his icon also mentioned that he aspire to be complete, therefore, being the husband of Rennala, he studied sorcery, and being the husband of "Marika", he studied incantations. So my bets are rather on him.
I love the part at 32:45 when Radagon is walking away from the Serpent head like he's a main character who thought they defeated the villain but didn't know there was a second phase
Radahn straight up just told his father to sit the fuck down, I'm crying
