@@Kallax2 you're free to move about all the areas and planets as you progress the game, and can take a break from the story to explore other areas of the world. I think they're open world because you have the freedom to move around them and between the different planets as you want.
The game looks fine, but not $70 worth, or god forbid $130. It not being Jedi-Centric is possibly one of the best decisions for the game, we need more exploration of the norm in Star Wars, not yet another story with plot armour space ninjas that have already been done into the dirt in so many ways. There's clearly some heart & effort put into it by the devs, but it's not really possible to tell if that's what the rest of the game would be like considering Ubisoft has only shown footage, and allowed only footage exclusively of what appears to be the first hour of gameplay. It's got good ideas, and the developers have already been paid, so don't buy this when it comes out. Not even the best games ever made should be worth over $60, let alone $70 for base game & another $60 for the rest of the game that they stripped out of the base version to get you to fork over even more money. Friendly reminder that the Developers of the game get paid for their time on the game in production, almost all of sales money of games goes to management & higher (otherwise known as the people who did not make the game, but are the ones who didn't give any devs a raise for the last game, and probably won't for this one too. It's 2024, they're probably getting fired irrespective of how well it does.) Chase that sponsorship money puffer, but Ubisoft isn't convincing me to buy their waste for luxury prices lol.
