    I can't believe that Bobcat lifted such a big tree. That was a lot of tree to chip.

    Hey old mate, keep your hands away from the feed table, bit different with horizontal rollers but the logs still move around and fast.

    Impressive chipper! Are the chips being utilized or not? Seems like a waist to just use the chips as a landfill compost. A lot of firewood there.

    Highly impressed, look at the safety equipment and professionalism of the workers. Great work, but have a look at the joke masquerading as tree removers in USA , they must have plenty of idiots happy to risk their lives for a dollar, The Bobcat operator was very efficient ,no waiting just get another log and straight into the machine.

    Just because you can does not mean you should. That chipper is huge, but that tree should have been bucked up and used for fire 🪵 wood!!!

    Sounds like the chipper is struggling maybe because of the blades are not sharp enough at work we use a bandit we put new blades on it it sounds like it would would run better

    • @godmort

      The way the Vermeer works is using a smart in feed which controls the ramps at hydraulics to Optimate chipping and quality of chips

    • @GroovesAndLands
      @GroovesAndLands 4 года назад

      Vermeer machines have an automatic in-feed system. Once the in-feed has a hold of the log, the machine automatically forces the log into the knives in manageable "bites" for the knives. The result is: feed, bog, feed, bog, feed, bog until the log is gone. All be design. Vermeer machines work awesome.

    • @florin26balalau
      @florin26balalau 4 года назад

      Yeah that chipper doesn't compare to the Raco the customers are always really scared when we fire it up and feed it large 20 inch logs

    • @florin26balalau
      @florin26balalau 4 года назад

      I understand you guys just turn the key and go but we have to fix this s*** and the blades are really important on a underpowered machine and I just turn off auto feed all together rayco can suck that log and I like to feed the machine my way

      I just rented this thing's baby brother, the BC1000XL, which had a 74hp, 2.9L Deutz turbodiesel... It was an absolute beast and ate everything I gave it - a lot faster than I could feed it - to include some 12" logs. I had to buck them into lengths small enough to balance in my tractors loader, but I'd say the machine could eat 1 foot of 12" diameter log every 2 seconds. Very, very impressive. Vermeer is awesome stuff.

      +nephilly87 what third world shit hole do you live in, here in New Zealand pine is the most common firewood burnt and we don't have chimney fires unless some useless clown is too lazy to clean his chimney.

      The price they would get for the lumber would probably be less than the amount it would cost to transport and process it.

    What is the average size/dimesions of the chips?

    • @GroovesAndLands
      @GroovesAndLands 4 года назад

      About 2.5cm x 2.5cm x 1cm thick - until it's chewing up the last bit of log, when the in-feed roller is no longer forcing material into the knives. At that point, the chips get much longer and less uniformly cut.

    Absolutely terrible why would you force the machines like that.They are high power but shouldn't be misused.

    • @GroovesAndLands
      @GroovesAndLands 4 года назад

      The machine has an automatic feeder that forces the log into the knives, then stops while the knives chew it up - then automatically forces more log in.
