There's nothing I love more than a deep dive into local culture and off the beaten path programs like this. (Maybe it's because I'm a history fanatic) I also liked that she touched on the difficult era of the 70's. I feel one may get a better understanding of place - warts and all. Highlighting people of the land, like the wonderful gentleman keeping his animals in the hills was so touching for me. This was filmed 2016. It's such a romantic thought that he becomes a centenarian roaming the hills with his flock. If not, I hope he rose up with the angels. ~Wonderful program. Thanks for the tour Alex 💕
Fabulous episode. Ive been to some of these places. Orgosolo with it's painted walls, high up in the mountains, frightened the life out of me. We had a picnic in the woods above this famous bandit village and although we were many,as it was a coach trip,i couldnt wait to leave before nightfall descended. Most of our party were drunk and didn't want to leave 😂😂. The whole of Italy is MAGNIFICENT and there are truly MANY hidden gems !!! I'm so proud to be Italian.❤
astonishing how we have much in common my grandparents came from liguria i saw them little as my italian mother emigrated to england but now im in sardegnia i still have to learn alot you must have been very pleased to have found your roots in sardegnia❤❤
Alex is so comfortable in front of the camera. Its a real pleasure to watch. Its like she is constantly flirting with the cameraman. A bit similar to Nigella in someway
Fantastic series !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would love to see more of Alex Polizzi's documentaries !!! Beautifully filmed and very informative !!!! Love from Vermont
I just love Alex. The way she immerse herself in everything she discovers, she takes us all in with her to experience and that is a real treat indeed. Keep doing this my dearest Alex.
My husband’s parents are from Sardinia. His relatives are the most wonderful, hospitable and generous people I have ever met. I am Chinese and they all love me and not racist towards me except my mother in law. 😉 I love them to bits and I am very very lucky to have such relatives and experience their culture, lifestyle and food.
Wish I could like this twice! Just back from Sardinia. Wish I'd seen this first, the Cagliari market sounds great :) And yes the roast pork was excellent. But wow.. the sea silk weaver!!!
What a wonderful show! Alex is a delightful lady. I love her sense of style too! I already watched two of her videos this evening and plan on watching more over the next few days. I haven't been in Italy since 1999. Time for another visit with great inspiration from Alex's secret parts of Italy.
Good presentation. I was in Italy visiting my relatives in Lazio when September 11 happened and we were stuck at Fumincino Airport . We took the train from Formia to Venice on a sleeper train. Stopping in Florence?and Rome. It was awesome and should be discussed.
My beautiful Chiara, neither President's nor Pope's are worthy of your precious weaving. In my eyes, the 80yo gentleman who lives alone in the mountains caring for his animals is far more worthy.
Oh, I didn't expect her to be Italian British. Most famous Italian British is Sir Louis Cavagnari, the British diplomat who got killed in Kabul, Afghanistan in 1879.

I have been all over Italy. From Trento to Perugia and from Napoli to Firenze. Love the country, its people and its cuisine.

I love all of Alex documentaries. She's a brilliant presenter, elegant and beautifully dressed, but whoever selects her shoes needs to be fired!

I don't know what she's talking about; I think Cagliari looks lovely.
Relax.
Sardinia is one of the blues zones, where people live to old age.

Great vlogs, by a very attractive lady.
2 month-old sucking pig is not only eaten in Sardinia and nowhere else in the world! I've eaten it all over Asia.
when they eat the baby...gross
It's not gross at all. It's the most tender of meats .
