We have mobile speed traps, but they are manned vans. I think in my country people would just pick up those trailers and turn them the other way or put something over them.
This was probably the most expensive culture shock. After a couple of months living in Europe, I started receiving these fines in the mail. Little fines for going
We don’t have anything that looks like that in the US. Sometimes speed traps are set up, which are police officers stationed somewhere with a traffic camera that records the speed.
we don't have either in norway as far as im aware. where i live they just place cop alongside the road with a camera, and then they wait 0-300ish meters down the road from the camera and stop you there if you went too fast.
yes we have speed cameras in the UK - usually they arent "hidden" (most have a massive luminescent sign with "think speed" in big bold letters) i have however been fined for parking on the wrong side of the road in Germany, but the "Fee" for the rental company to pass on my details was more than the fine itself
I have indeed been Blitzed in Germany, but I was shocked by how small the fine was compared to Australia. I was 8 kph over the limit and I think the fine was around €40. Here is Victoria, Australia the equivalent fine is $240 AUD :,(
Yep, in Australia it's another source of revenue for the government, nothing to do with safety, many people can't drive and die on the roads regardless... I got 2 fines total of $900 this year, cheaper to stay home and drink🤪
Guten Tag Aus Litauen wir habe andere 3 fuß Blitzer, fest fixed Blitzer. Average speed Blitzer and like camera Blitzer above City Lights. Outside City we mostly have average speed Blitzer. I don't know at what other Country You can not drive with Waze navigation despite Germany, Fun Fact passanger can use Waze navigation 😅
I got a 52 euro speeding ticket in Switzerland for going 1-5 km over the speed limit. They sent me a ticket to my house 6 months later. Nobody gets a ticket in the U.S. for going that little bit over the speed limit.
In German, we say "in Flensburg" (and similarly, in Hamburg, in Berlin, etc.) because "in" is used with cities or towns without any article. German generally doesn’t use an article with place names unless it’s a specific type of location (like "in der Schweiz" for countries that use an article). So, "in Flensburg" simply follows this rule for place names

Haha, that’s hilarious! 😄 I can imagine people getting creative with those mobile speed traps!

Danke Anja
Interessant. Ich danke Ihnen sehr!

Ouch! 😅 That’s quite a difference! German speeding fines can be relatively mild for small infractions, especially compared to places like Australia.
New Zealand is the same. A speeding fine can be so high you'll go hungry for two weeks because you had to spend your grocery money on the fine.
Yep, in Australia it's another source of revenue for the government, nothing to do with safety, many people can't drive and die on the roads regardless... I got 2 fines total of $900 this year, cheaper to stay home and drink🤪
A few years ago the fine for exceeding the speed limit by up to 10kph was 10 or 15 euros. 😂

Oh das ist wirklich ärgerlich .... Ich hoffe es war nicht so teuer 🫰
In Deutschland sagen wir nicht Blitzer ....😅😅love the channel
Blitz Box
Meanwhile the police at the station monitoring the camera are screaming for her to go away…this was the best time to speed on that road lol

Ouch, Switzerland is definitely strict with their speeding rules!
Yes, we have these in the USA, but mostly in cities for red light running
Thanks to let me know. 😊
Lots of them in Berlin 😅😅
in Japan gibt es nicht solche Bitzer

warum "in Flensburg" ?? o_O
Flensburg is a German city where the office that monitors the points and behavior of drivers throughout Germany is based.

😢ja schön zwei mal. Ich habe fast 300€ in Bußgeld gezahlt

I was totally bankrupted by German traffic police while driving on the Autobahn.
