The world smells Elton John in 1975. By the way, Sir Elton John has been the soundtrack of my entire life since long, long time ago. A remastered person he's still standing after all this time. Blessings to him !!
Pinball wizard never released as a single in North America - but got huge airplay during the 1975 year he dominated - including contributing vocals on Sedeka’s BadBllood.
How I wish the 70s world return. The music was magic and every sound puts you in a place, with someone or doing something. It was a time when vocalists sang in melody and perfect harmony, when instumentalists played with their hearts, song writers composed through the soul and producers and arrangers were masters of their trade. They left us a legacy never to be repeated, only copied, immitated or versioned. The third rate music makers of today's generation have much to learn.
As I kid , I still remember that haunting 10CC song from the long hot summer of 75, "I'm Not in Love" and the folk like "At Seventeen" by Janis Ian. A strange tune by Roger Whittaker, "The Last Farewell" also got frozen into my memory. The 1970s had far more variety in the Billboard Hot 100 than today.
I take issue to Ian's Seventeen being in 75. Without looking it up, I believe it was several years earlier. Other than that, it seemed pretty accurate.

According to my book (which goes by Billboard) it was a #4 and #57 for the year. Should have been there. Bad Blood was a #1 for 3 weeks (one of the 11 #1 songs out of 35 #1s that year that held #1 more than 1 week) and was only #93? And I don't remember seeing Fly Robin Fly (also #1 3 weeks) but should have been #2 for '75. When Will I See You Again peaked at #2 for 1 week Dec 14th '74.

#15 - Maya Rudolph's mother. She sings Maya's name in the outro. (Maya was 3 years old.) Sadly, she was diagnosed with breast cancer the following year and died in 1979 at age 31.
I think you meant #14, not #15.
The seventies had such great music and diversity. Constant stream of new hits . Listening to those songs really brings back strong memories.
Back in the day when every other week there was a new number one hit song that everybody loved
Every other week is pretty close. Actually there were 35 #1s in 1975. Tied with 35 in '74 too. Most years 15 to 20 #1s.

It's curious because of the 3 number 1s that Elton had in the US that year, only one was top 10 in the UK! (and it was precisely a #10 position)
ELO - Can't Get it Out Of My Head💘💘
That was a good year to be a senior in high school.
Junior's Farms is an all time great song and I will always love Cats in the Cradle. Both were recorded and released in 1974.
You're right,a great song by Paul McCartney & Wings
The Summer of 1975. Great 😃👍 Summer 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 of Music 😌🎶🎶🎶 and Good Times.
I was 8 years old in 1975. I remember my mom singing along to many of these songs in her lemon yellow Ford Pinto. I miss my youth. I miss my mom :-(
Me too but i suffered from bad acne...don't miss that.
I miss mine, too.

My favorite C &T song "The Way I Want to Touch You " was left out. 🎸🎼
