    making this today it looks so good. It reminds me when I was a kid my best friend's Mom on the farm, would make homemade pudding and immediately "frost" a 2 layer white cake with it. It was an amazing dessert. Haven't had that since 1979 Lol.

    Thank you for this incredibly easy and delicious recipe. I’ve searched online and everything I found was too many steps for a simple chocolate pudding. I’m corn free so I used arrowroot powder and unfortunately it gave it more of a gummy texture than a creamy one, but still delicious and it was devoured. Maybe next time I’ll use less than 3 tablespoons and get a better texture

    I'd like to make a chocolate pie with your chocolate pudding recipe, but I would like it a little more thick for the pie. What do you recommend?

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  Год назад +1

      You could fold in a little bit of chocolate ganache as well which will help firm it up so essentially folding this homemade pudding in with the half of the ganache from this recipe ruclips.net/video/tgYDWtiMQmU/видео.html. But if you just use it as is and place the pie in the freezer for a little bit it will also firm it up. A layered approach would be cool. put half of the pudding on the bottom of the pie crust then fold the other half of the pudding with 4 ounces of heavy cream (whipped). then you could top the pie with regular whipped cream, and then put chocolate shavings on top...mmm yummy. I will do a video about this at some point.

    Matt I'm wondering if one could add a bit more cocoa. I'm gonna try 1/3 cup because I like DARK chocolate more so than MILK chocolate. Looks like a much more simplistic recipe & subsequent prep compared to some others I've been viewing here. Need to try this as I love pudding and especially chocolate pudding.

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  Год назад

      Hi there, you can, but try it as is first, then experiment with adding a bit more cocoa.

    • @kayo5291
      @kayo5291 5 месяцев назад

      I'm with you, I like pudding dark and less sweet. Here I would switch the amounts of cocoa and sugar and go from there. Or you can go really nuts and sweeten it by melting in a dark chocolate bar, and skip the sugar altogether. It's the milk/cornstarch ratio you can't play with too much when you make pudding; the rest of the ingredients are adjustable to taste.
