Wow, I just made...waiting 2 hours for it to cool off. While I stirred for 15 minutes or however long...I exercised...lol....sidesteps, kickbacks, etc....so I won't feel guilty. Heehee.. The vanilla pudding yesterday came great, but chocolate is my passion. I live alone, children grown. I read you can freeze pudding. Is that a good idea? I would like to freeze half, so I can eat some next week. I allow myself one treat a day, and would like different treats daily. Thank you...

Thank you for this incredibly easy and delicious recipe. I’ve searched online and everything I found was too many steps for a simple chocolate pudding. I’m corn free so I used arrowroot powder and unfortunately it gave it more of a gummy texture than a creamy one, but still delicious and it was devoured. Maybe next time I’ll use less than 3 tablespoons and get a better texture
You come up with really good recipes. But I have just a couple of questions. First question is, it’s 2 cups, and 1/4 cup of milk. Right? And one stick of butter? I want to try to make this in the summertime this year. Thanks.
You could fold in a little bit of chocolate ganache as well which will help firm it up so essentially folding this homemade pudding in with the half of the ganache from this recipe ruclips.net/video/tgYDWtiMQmU/видео.html. But if you just use it as is and place the pie in the freezer for a little bit it will also firm it up. A layered approach would be cool. put half of the pudding on the bottom of the pie crust then fold the other half of the pudding with 4 ounces of heavy cream (whipped). then you could top the pie with regular whipped cream, and then put chocolate shavings on top...mmm yummy. I will do a video about this at some point.
Matt I'm wondering if one could add a bit more cocoa. I'm gonna try 1/3 cup because I like DARK chocolate more so than MILK chocolate. Looks like a much more simplistic recipe & subsequent prep compared to some others I've been viewing here. Need to try this as I love pudding and especially chocolate pudding.
I'm with you, I like pudding dark and less sweet. Here I would switch the amounts of cocoa and sugar and go from there. Or you can go really nuts and sweeten it by melting in a dark chocolate bar, and skip the sugar altogether. It's the milk/cornstarch ratio you can't play with too much when you make pudding; the rest of the ingredients are adjustable to taste.
I watched this video a few days ago I just tried the chocolate pudding it is delicious and if someone didn’t like it it’s cause they made a mistake while making it

Yes you can use a little flour, not quite as good as cornstarch, but it should work to thicken it without effecting the flavor too much.
