Its amazing the pickers out there have no interest in learning from other pickers. Huge mistake. I have no problem with people that flip stuff I sell. I price fairly, and get a really good return on my investment. If they can turn around and make even more, no problem. I've moved on to the next item. Win/win.

Crazy that I had a good day at my local goodwill. I don’t sourcing lot anymore because of my work and I hardly can keep up with my shipping some days. And tackling my fealty pile. Trying to sell all my cloths I bought months ago and I regret getting into cloths. Hated it! No money and profit. You are the one who got me into bigger items qual bigger profits over cloths. Most of the time. I really got into small kitchen appliances. And now I am into golf clubs. I came from a golfing family. So I know what the pros uses and what to pick up. Just don’t play much golf. From a local goodwill when I dropped off a lot of tapes I got from a yard sale and took out the good ones. I saw a bag of golf clubs in the back room with head cover. Taylor made! And callaway head covers all over the top of the bag! I saw dollar signs in my head! I asked the guy who can I talk to that is doing the pricing and if I can ask if he can price them? Very kindly. He thought it was a set. It was a bunch of random clubs. Taylor made rbz driver, 3 and 5 wood! Callaway great big Bertha and 7 wood. Taylor made spider putter and odyssey dual force. With a set of Callaway irons 5-9 with a sand widge and pitching. With a standing bag. All for 60 some dollars. I had a 16 dollar rewards points and 20 percent off. What a great find!

I was picking a sale a few months ago and going through the lady's DVDs when she asked if I wanted her vhs for free! As I was pulling out nightmare on elm street (2) sealed and others, another shopper at the sale asked if I wanted to come and pick up 6 totes of vhs from her house for free! I did the next day with half of the tapes being sealed! No crazy thousand dollar scores but several $50+ tapes. I think TMNT was the best one of the lot. It's crazy how timing can swing things so drastically with reselling. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time. I enjoyed the video and you have gained a new subscriber!

I have a bunch of VHS tapes and I am thinking about selling them on e-bay, most of them are in good shape. I was wondering about IGS but they sound like a get rich quick scheme. I don't think I would use them, especially the fact that they take forever to get the tapes back. I think I'll take my chances without using them. By the way I love the intro music.

Hi, i'm from Belgium, i worked a rather long time in videostores ; first of all , you have to seperate VHS tapes in 2 groups ; sellthrough vhs tapes and rental vhs tapes...Here in Belgium during the eighties (untill begin nineties) almost every VHS tape was a rental tape...those rental tapes were of better quality AND (especially in the eighties) very expensive (150-300 euros/dollar for a rental tape ; i remember the invoices from my boss when i worked in a videostore during the eighties), most videostore owner bought only one copy in the eighties....today these eighties rental tapes are very very rare; Disney sellthrough tapes were mass produced during a certain period of time and then they were put in "the vault" ... A marketing gimmick from Disney before they had some serious competition from Dreamworks, Sony Animation....BUT still mass produced all over the world : so they are worth nothing generally. With VHS TAPES it's all about the rarity ; sealed or eighties rental tapes (bigger boxes). ... ALSO sellthrough tapes weren't the same quality as the rental tapes (single coating vs double coating).....***Greetings from Belgium***

Thanks for the info, I just started collecting vhs tapes, but not ready to sell just yet, I want to learn more before I decide to start selling, I never listed or sold anything online yet.
They are, I've sold multiple tapes for $1,000-$2,000 each. Sold 1 today for $400 preowned, sold 1 a few days ago for $190 and so on. My buddy has sold tapes for $3k+ you'd be surprised how much cash you can make from VHS tapes.
I suspect that money laundering is behind the sale of tapes for enormous sums. In the financial industry it's called "layering." Some are legit, some are just a way for crooks to pass dirty money through eBay as part of the cleaning & transfer process.
As a Sports card collector for all most 50 years . I CAN tell you that PSA has come under the GUN a FEW times for the dealing they do over the years ? They have let FAKE reprint cards go by , fake auto's go by & now trimmed or DOCTOR cards go by ? Then they come out & say it's there option & don't stay behind there grades , that much ? Also would seem the BIG dealers get BETTER grades on there cards , then other smaller people do ? I have seen cards they have graded & just don't fit the grading part at all ? They may be 1 to 2 grades to high & on another card 1 to 2 grades to low ? To, ME , they ARE a scam, big time & are hurting this field .
Yeah, PSA got whacked a bit. The whole sports jersey AUTOGRAPH market seems to be soft. Saturation and so many unknowns on the grading. That's one category I don't touch much.
Rego park is Queens NYC. Gang members make quick bucks by scamming and then reselling items on street. I wonder if having a professional 3rd party, like UPS packing service or such,, pack and ship an item, can be a better option on high dollar items. You will at least have a non partial witness when you refute Item not received claim or if you have to file a Police report for theft on the buyer. IMO
I had a sealed Frankenhooker w/ talk button VHS. Listed it for $3K. Had best offer autoset to 10% less. Ebayer didnt like I didnt accept the offers of $2K. Messaged me calling me a ripoff, blah blah. VHS never sold. Sent it in for grading - 9.0. Listed for $5K. Sold in hours... yup, from the aforementioned ebayer. Never heard a peep back after delivery, and I doubt I will as that was probs 4 years ago.

I went to block that scammer from purchasing on my store and eBay said the user is no longer valid. Maybe you got rid of him … on this account at least. Was researching a Raiders sealed tape I had yesterday and saw someone sell the same version you had (with the "coming soon" for Temple of Doom) for $99.99. Whoops...
I got it in my settings that I won’t ship anything till it’s paid. And if I post something and I get offers the second I post it. I think they have robots and they have software that they get. I heard that they do this for expensive printer ink. Before I sell it and they give me offers I look at their profile and see if they have a store. If they have a store that they have similar items what they are trying to buy from me. I look at their store to see if I priced it low or high. That’s how I do my investigation.
Ink resellers do have some sort of software. They are a bit shady. I try not to sell to them as they are super PICKY box it in another box etc. Thanks Brett.
I just got the same scammer pokemokid say the exact same thing to me a few days ago, that it was his birthday etc. I was selling a sealed copy of Halloween 3 and he messaged me seconds after it was listed. It’s a good thing I sold it to another buyer on a best offer. Tip- Always be on the lookout for vintage horror VHS from the 70’s-80’s, especially sealed ones. They sell like hot cakes.
hi there used to be alot of un sold stock of vhs tapes when dvd came out and the prices for vhs is not real there used to be a pound shop in reading they had alot of old stock in that shop say 20 of the same film like pound land sometimes do in the uk there no money in vhs tapes it's all scammers ripping alot of like what alot will pay out for master pro tapes at are falling apart now
Long ago we sellers had the option of filling the NON PAYING BUYER, after 3 or 5 strikes Ebay suspended those accounts, second round and i think the closed your account. Those tools were very VERY useful to keep scammers out of Ebay
Hey your leaning tower of clock, at least it that way from the video. Since we do live in California, do you have it secured to the wall? And if anybody did not know this, there such a thing as a professional clock movers, even if it’s just a few feet and no you don’t shimmy.it along the floor.
Wow! That is amazing it went that high. The most expensive I have sold is my "Tammy and the T Rex" that was used. I have tons stored away, and list some every so often. The large majority are inexpensive. I do believe the market is starting to change though, and prices are definitely starting to increase. I have thousands stored away. The highest cost one on my site is $60 right now.
Just watched this video, it was great, I have also been sitting on vhs tapes waiting on IGS. Not sure what to do now. I have all 3 back to the future, factory sealed and a indiana jones. Will be watching.

Ebay Sucks !!! I had an issue like this today! Spoke with a lady named Rosa on Customer service and I told her customer wanted me to contact outside of ebay and I wanted to Cancel. Then I was told it was Okay for someone to want to contact me outside of ebay!! What ???? I said that is a major red flag and told I could not cancel for 4 days had to wait to see if person paid. I did not want to sell to customer. Urgh...I proved great customer service and I feel Ebay constantly fails in providing great service to its sellers like they don't care about us.
Nope they just don't give a rip. Very sad that we have to go through these issues all the time. Best offer and they have 4 days to pay? HOW ABOUT PAY NOW!
Excellent idea to video showing packing. Had a zero fb buyer once say the package arrived open and damaged on her daughters porch. Me, “that’s odd, it was in a box, not package, with signature confirmation, here are photos of the packaging and box.” Buyer replies, “oh, my daughter lied to me”. That’s the “my daughter scam”

I'm building up nice little collection of unopened movie with watermarks but nothing that high end yet. I'd be afraid of it selling the the person wanting his money back because he claims it's not the right item and then sending you back another tape then being out the money and the tape..
I have tried to sell disney vhs and they sit....I even bundled them....they sat in my ebay store for almost 2 years until I pulled them....I priced under and the same as what was selling and nothing!
Those aren't the ones to sell. Those have long been a scam. Look for the classic 80's type movie, Indiana Jones, ET, Top Gun, Ghostbusters etc. Sealed. Many of them have uniqueness to them as to why they sell for big money. Keep looking around. Just think classic movies not the old black and white.

Only are few are worth trying that. It can get expensive. I was going to do that with the Indiana Jones one but that was going to take 6 months at the time through IGS. I think it close to $50-$75 a tape.
Most of the ones that are going for top dollar are the blockbusters of the day. ET, INDIAN JONES, BACK TO THE FUTURE and all are sealed with the proper marks and dates.

Honestly I was just thinking about this whole vhs ordeal yesterday as I walked gingerly away from a 101 Dalmatians vhs tape. I feared getting caught up in some web of scam but still wondered the same things you brought up. It wasn’t sealed so I left it behind, but now I might have to go back and look for that black diamond. “But then what?” I ask because you see both a .99 cent and a $1000+ sold for a non-sealed. It’s so weird.
Unsealed black diamond isn't anything special. I have a lot of 39 Disney vhs tapes all used but move condition. It's down to 90 bucks now and still no takers....

Dang !!! I think all resellers hear about this VHS “urban legend”. Very exited to see what happen next. I’m a little skeptical, maybe the buyers will wait some weeks or even months and claim an unauthorized buy with their bank ?? I dont think they will try to do anything through Ebay.
So far they have been delivered and nothing. I have talked to several other people who have sales of $1000 plus on VHS and all say they are real! So, I will keep you informed.
WTF???? i have several hundred VHS tapes on ebay. there was a bunch of them that were still new in the plastic. I listed them all as acceptable because i did not want to dig thru them and mess with low dollar stuff. i popped em all up as acceptable. LOL now i have no way to know which is which. might have to go dig thru the warehouse and see whats new.
Damage Blue disc movies doesn't play at all like a vhs tape itself does what is important the playing or the picture quality everything proven people like myself are seeing the truth the playing what matters more

My dad is trying to help his wife sell her collection of Barbie dolls... This one on eBay and immediately someone wants to buy it... I don't know all the details but apparently the buyer was my father to throw in a money card to give as a gift to his friend for his birthday... Believe it or not eBay canceled the sale as a red flag showed up somehow maybe because my dad is new and even knew this was a scam
I think that a lot of investors are speculating in VHS tapes... they used to do baseball cards, sometimes high-end guitars that get exhibited, on walls in glass cases never played... most musical instruments really do need to be played... it's sort of having a wall of cool crap you can show off... sort of like mine's bigger than yours???.., might be some corporate money involved, Banks & institutions buy crap regularly for their walls, executive suites?... sometimes it might get lost ??? Hey man, sorry you had to deal with the Ebay scammers. It's just the competition using bots to send out bids and offers to put a hold on relisting or listing in general. It artificially inflates the sold comps and puts that hold on your product being listed for sale so they can sell the same product or a similar product at a higher or comparable price because the sold comps determine the market price of an item. We're never going to be able to "defeat" them or one up them, the strategy and execution tactics you use will work just fine. I've been reselling off and on for 27 years, helping my parents flip LA Gear sneakers in the flea market in the mid 90s and they dealt with scammers way back then so its really just par for the course unfortunately. Just keep doin what you're doin and you will keep crushing it 😎🤙 Ps. Love your content btw!

We always get what we call FRESSH donations not PRE-SORTED. We mark the ones we sorted and have some other checks in place so we don't get the same books. They only sell them to a jobber after we are done with them. Not sure where they go after us.

It's a very large and strange purchase and you have to be very careful. Someone can say the box was empty upon delivery. Many strange things can happen. Both those purchase went well, but neither one left feedback. Many of these VHS collectors try to remain very quite about their purchases.

I suspect that money laundering is behind the sale of tapes for enormous sums. In the financial industry it's called "layering." Some are legit, some are just a way for crooks to pass dirty money through eBay as part of the cleaning & transfer process.

As a Sports card collector for all most 50 years . I CAN tell you that PSA has come under the GUN a FEW times for the dealing they do over the years ? They have let FAKE reprint cards go by , fake auto's go by & now trimmed or DOCTOR cards go by ? Then they come out & say it's there option & don't stay behind there grades , that much ? Also would seem the BIG dealers get BETTER grades on there cards , then other smaller people do ? I have seen cards they have graded & just don't fit the grading part at all ? They may be 1 to 2 grades to high & on another card 1 to 2 grades to low ? To, ME , they ARE a scam, big time & are hurting this field .
Yeah, PSA got whacked a bit. The whole sports jersey AUTOGRAPH market seems to be soft. Saturation and so many unknowns on the grading. That's one category I don't touch much.

I wish that eBay would note in high dollar, $750 plus, that a signature is required. And make it big and bold since they require it.
Rego park is Queens NYC. Gang members make quick bucks by scamming and then reselling items on street. I wonder if having a professional 3rd party, like UPS packing service or such,, pack and ship an item, can be a better option on high dollar items. You will at least have a non partial witness when you refute Item not received claim or if you have to file a Police report for theft on the buyer. IMO
I had a sealed Frankenhooker w/ talk button VHS. Listed it for $3K. Had best offer autoset to 10% less. Ebayer didnt like I didnt accept the offers of $2K. Messaged me calling me a ripoff, blah blah. VHS never sold. Sent it in for grading - 9.0. Listed for $5K. Sold in hours... yup, from the aforementioned ebayer. Never heard a peep back after delivery, and I doubt I will as that was probs 4 years ago.

The sale was made on both tapes and no issues. Never received any feedback they are very quite about purchases that big,
I got it in my settings that I won’t ship anything till it’s paid. And if I post something and I get offers the second I post it. I think they have robots and they have software that they get. I heard that they do this for expensive printer ink. Before I sell it and they give me offers I look at their profile and see if they have a store. If they have a store that they have similar items what they are trying to buy from me. I look at their store to see if I priced it low or high. That’s how I do my investigation.
Ink resellers do have some sort of software. They are a bit shady. I try not to sell to them as they are super PICKY box it in another box etc. Thanks Brett.
I just got the same scammer pokemokid say the exact same thing to me a few days ago, that it was his birthday etc. I was selling a sealed copy of Halloween 3 and he messaged me seconds after it was listed. It’s a good thing I sold it to another buyer on a best offer. Tip- Always be on the lookout for vintage horror VHS from the 70’s-80’s, especially sealed ones. They sell like hot cakes.

and the prices for vhs is not real there used to be a pound shop in reading they had alot of old stock in that shop say 20 of the same film like pound land

Long ago we sellers had the option of filling the NON PAYING BUYER, after 3 or 5 strikes Ebay suspended those accounts, second round and i think the closed your account. Those tools were very VERY useful to keep scammers out of Ebay

Wow! That is amazing it went that high. The most expensive I have sold is my "Tammy and the T Rex" that was used. I have tons stored away, and list some every so often. The large majority are inexpensive. I do believe the market is starting to change though, and prices are definitely starting to increase. I have thousands stored away. The highest cost one on my site is $60 right now.

Ebay Sucks !!! I had an issue like this today! Spoke with a lady named Rosa on Customer service and I told her customer wanted me to contact outside of ebay and I wanted to Cancel. Then I was told it was Okay for someone to want to contact me outside of ebay!! What ???? I said that is a major red flag and told I could not cancel for 4 days had to wait to see if person paid. I did not want to sell to customer. Urgh...I proved great customer service and I feel Ebay constantly fails in providing great service to its sellers like they don't care about us.
Nope they just don't give a rip. Very sad that we have to go through these issues all the time. Best offer and they have 4 days to pay? HOW ABOUT PAY NOW!

Me, “that’s odd, it was in a box, not package, with signature confirmation, here are photos of the packaging and box.” Buyer replies, “oh, my daughter lied to me”. That’s the “my daughter scam”

I have tried to sell disney vhs and they sit....I even bundled them....they sat in my ebay store for almost 2 years until I pulled them....I priced under and the same as what was selling and nothing!
Those aren't the ones to sell. Those have long been a scam. Look for the classic 80's type movie, Indiana Jones, ET, Top Gun, Ghostbusters etc. Sealed. Many of them have uniqueness to them as to why they sell for big money. Keep looking around. Just think classic movies not the old black and white.

Only are few are worth trying that. It can get expensive. I was going to do that with the Indiana Jones one but that was going to take 6 months at the time through IGS. I think it close to $50-$75 a tape.

Most of the ones that are going for top dollar are the blockbusters of the day. ET, INDIAN JONES, BACK TO THE FUTURE and all are sealed with the proper marks and dates.

Honestly I was just thinking about this whole vhs ordeal yesterday as I walked gingerly away from a 101 Dalmatians vhs tape. I feared getting caught up in some web of scam but still wondered the same things you brought up. It wasn’t sealed so I left it behind, but now I might have to go back and look for that black diamond. “But then what?” I ask because you see both a .99 cent and a $1000+ sold for a non-sealed. It’s so weird.
Unsealed black diamond isn't anything special. I have a lot of 39 Disney vhs tapes all used but move condition. It's down to 90 bucks now and still no takers....
Something about black diamonds just not collectible at all.

Dang !!! I think all resellers hear about this VHS “urban legend”. Very exited to see what happen next. I’m a little skeptical, maybe the buyers will wait some weeks or even months and claim an unauthorized buy with their bank ?? I dont think they will try to do anything through Ebay.
So far they have been delivered and nothing. I have talked to several other people who have sales of $1000 plus on VHS and all say they are real! So, I will keep you informed.

WTF???? i have several hundred VHS tapes on ebay. there was a bunch of them that were still new in the plastic. I listed them all as acceptable because i did not want to dig thru them and mess with low dollar stuff. i popped em all up as acceptable. LOL now i have no way to know which is which. might have to go dig thru the warehouse and see whats new.
You never know what you might be holding. It's weird right now with VHS. Some big buyers are out there.

No. You only get paid once an item is sold and paid for then it could be two weeks. Amazon pays every two weeks.

Just stay away from them and you will eventually lose these RATS as you build feedback. Just be aware.
I think that a lot of investors are speculating in VHS tapes... they used to do baseball cards, sometimes high-end guitars that get exhibited, on walls in glass cases never played... most musical instruments really do need to be played... it's sort of having a wall of cool crap you can show off... sort of like mine's bigger than yours???.., might be some corporate money involved, Banks & institutions buy crap regularly for their walls, executive suites?... sometimes it might get lost ??? Take legs ...LAXVESPA-LOSANGELES...

Hey man, sorry you had to deal with the Ebay scammers. It's just the competition using bots to send out bids and offers to put a hold on relisting or listing in general. It artificially inflates the sold comps and puts that hold on your product being listed for sale so they can sell the same product or a similar product at a higher or comparable price because the sold comps determine the market price of an item. We're never going to be able to "defeat" them or one up them, the strategy and execution tactics you use will work just fine. I've been reselling off and on for 27 years, helping my parents flip LA Gear sneakers in the flea market in the mid 90s and they dealt with scammers way back then so its really just par for the course unfortunately. Just keep doin what you're doin and you will keep crushing it 😎🤙

We always get what we call FRESSH donations not PRE-SORTED. We mark the ones we sorted and have some other checks in place so we don't get the same books. They only sell them to a jobber after we are done with them. Not sure where they go after us.

You said it yourself you got paid 4000...but I saw evidence people were selling for that kinda price online and you showed it. You said on video u could've gotten more money I know. Were talking Black Diamond here, and Old tapes. So, 🥱 the best place to get VHS is at a Thrift store i never been to one. The one I go to is called Savers.

How can they scam you? I don't understand what would be a scam. You don't sell items that aren't paid for so what are the scammers really trying to pull?
It's a very large and strange purchase and you have to be very careful. Someone can say the box was empty upon delivery. Many strange things can happen. Both those purchase went well, but neither one left feedback. Many of these VHS collectors try to remain very quite about their purchases.
