I really hate to say it, because I love the band, but it's clear after this many years and albums that DT is not half the band they were with Portnoy in it. He and Petrucci are like Page and Plant, or McCartney and Lennon. Musical soulmates.
ieetemos4breakfast I'm not sure the exact time signature but it obviously alternates several times. This is one of those grooves where when I'm playing it, I don't bother counting. I just learned it by ear by listening to it a ton of times until it became second nature. Give that a try. It's a super fun groove to play once you get it down.

Anyone tell me the pattern or time signatures used starting at the 0:53-1:35 part? I just can't seem to get the pattern down!!!
