A very eye opening interview. She comes across as a very down to earth and humble person
ER was an amazing show and Maura was a powerful lead for that show and gave massive depth to her character.

I don’t watch TV much (there was no TV in the house growing up), so I first saw Maura in the movie “Insomnia” with Al Pacino. Maura has a small part and was really impressive to me in her time on the screen. Since then I have watched YT videos of her, mainly interviews and really enjoy her off-screen personality. I think she’s great as a person as I haven’t actually seen very much of her professional work. 🙂

Maura Tierney’s Helen was the best part of The Affair, IMO. I don’t think the show’s creators envisioned Helen to be a lead character, but Maura is too talented to just be an ensemble player. She’s so watchable. I still watch it on Prime, and I fast-forward through the Noah/Allison scenes to get to Helen/Vic & Cole.

She'll always be Lisa Miller from Newsradio to me, but I also saw her in Liar Liar. I know she was in ER but I never watched that show regularly but may have seen her a few times when I tuned in when she joined them.
She was great in the sitcom Newsradio. You can see most episodes on RUclips for the moment. It's really interesting. It's also where Joe Rogan got his start.
