One ok rock are very hard to pin down on rock styles. They have something for everyone. It is one of the reasons i love them. They will make sream head bang and cry in one concert. The one thing I can tell you they are amazing musicians. They are Japanese jet They sing in both English and Japanese. English is not their first language Taka said once in an enterview the he writes the song in English and then translate them into Japanese. They have a lot of western world influences. Like linkin Park, all time low sleeping with sirens 5sos and a few more. If you would like their heavier stuff I recommend No scared Mighty long fall One by one Lier First story Deeper Deeper But as I said in their music you will find punk rock ballads rock pop rock classic rock (queen style) they infuse a bit of country reggae etc. They are a styles on their own. Not related to one ok rock but I recommend "Backlight" by Ado. The song is in japanese and Ado is a versatile singer who taps into every genre i can imagine (Almost every of her songs sound different). She is known for the powerful metal vocal, vocal fry, etc. (even tho metal/rock is not her primary genre).
If you want a boy Japanese metal band, there is X-Japan. They’re from the 80s. They’re the original metal band of Japan. I suggest the song Kurenai from “their last live” concert. Glad you liked this song! Unfortunately they don’t have a lot of songs like this so I don’t believe they’re going to be a band you will regularly listen to. One!
