the problem with the whole "pathers should be scared of me" thing is: pathers are insane and would see themselves as martyrs sacrificed in an attempt to kill the servant of moloch.
That's true to a degree, but cotton says they "have better things to die for" in reference to fighting you over the clone. If they have a good enough reason to fight you they may martyr themselves, but the fleets that pick a fight with you have no more reason to do so than cotton does.
I found a way to avoid the explosion from the Janus test less than a day before the premiere of this video. If you hover next to the gate (so that your indicator circle / drive bubble overlaps the gate a little), you can hit the Transverse Jump button. Then, once the timer gets to about 7/8 (or as close as possible to finishing but before your first ship makes the jump), click on the gate. You can interact with it normally, get the mission done, and then you're back in hyperspace before the explosion hits! Even if you mis-time it a little, like at the 3/4 mark, you'll still save yourself a decent chunk of supplies since the explosion sets all your ships' CR to basically 0 and damages the heck out of the hulls. There's also the "fly there in nothing but a single Phantom" method, but that requires juggling your fleet around and is a bit time-consuming.
1:41:05 kanta's protection lost, damn, didn't think they'd have that interaction added yet based on your previous discussion of the newer content not meshing well with the old

big fan of "you reap what you sow. Didnt ludd say that?" not because it is the "best" but because it is really funny to me to throw luddic words at baird after all her high and mighty dont interrupt me jazz.
I think that Pather Armada at 30:00 fled from you. Your CR was low, but your fleet power was still probably technically higher than theirs with officers and S-mods/D-mods considered.
That's why IEDs should be vanilla IMO. Any pather fleet with a few IEDs would still target the player. Or just change their behaviour to be afraid, but like other comments pointed it out, their faith would maybe just cause them to attack anyways.
On my current Vanilla run I found a habitable world with my players name. No idea if coincidence it was called jeramiahs world. Player name was jeramiah sternn
from your experience, how well does the AI handle fast glass-cannon type ships like the Odyssey, Fury, Aurora, Shrike etc etc? I've had pretty good success with a duo of AI-controlled SO Auroras with Anti-matters and Reapers. They seem to do just fine with that ship, so i wonder if i should gear my entire fleet around fast hit-and-run tactics, if that's even possible for the AI
Dude, not matter how high i make the defense number, you can still lose at like 50K+ defense. The game says my defenses are overwhelmingly strong against the AI inspection and they STILL manage to steal cores from me. It has been a thing since forever and its not gonna change so i dont risk it. Its too random for my taste. Reloading doesnt help UNLESS you actually manage to reach the system and..do nothing. Yeah, sometimes just being there makes the RNG change for some reason and they just fail.
Default controls! I do use the shift key to switch between the "point ship at mouse" behavior and the normal "tank controls" depending on the situation, especially when piloting frigates, but that's all part of the default control scheme.
When you were hurting for money to buy the paragon, selling the PK to rayan arroyo was always an option. i know *I'd* rather have it go to a psychopathic corporation than a psychopathic religion.
Given how many failed crusades there were. I'd say pathers wouldn't stop fighting you cause you clapped their biggest armada. If anything they'd probably try and gather a bigger armada. Claim your planet as a new holy land and try again
Mokosh is an ancient slavic deity, quite a very important one. Moloch is just new age juju from jujus and doesn't even exist, despite the 2000 year old colonialism.

@@bigbrainenergyguy And their small patrols will try and run if you go after them with a big fleet as well. They're not suicidal.

"It's not over until it says it's over"
the game like 15 seconds ago: "The enemy fleet is defeated. Press ESC to end the battle at any time."
Came for starsector, stayed for particle physics lesson.

Yeah, that surprised me. There are still some rough edges, but given enough time I expect they will iron those out.
What do they add in that friggin tea
Ludds most holy kush
I like Tea, I like the path now, thanks Cotton very cool.
"Ludd died for our spins" - LP Shepherd pilot, probably

Strongest Profiter vs Ludd's Weakest follower.
cant ever say Luddic Path isn't committed. also can't say they don't need committing. lol. should be a good vid. cheers. o7

As said by the venerable pre lud prophet uncle Ted, "open your mail tech boi".
Love the voices he puts on for everyone. Makes this playthrough all the more fun.

Livewell Cotton has a thick American Southern accent in my head
I feel like he's Irish, LOL
@@Kendallizer100 oo I like that
@Kendallizer100 the name also sounded Irish to me. Although Earth and it's nations have been lost for some time
Incredible voice work, especially for Gargoyle and the Pather.

Honestly watching your F ups and then the crying after is hilarious, cheers for the laughs
Oof, I hope you know that spacing Loke without a helmet removed Kanta's Protection? Not sure if you caught that line in the dialogue, haha.
39:30 I was wondering how long it would take for you to realise that that fleet was attacking your station lol
1:01:41 in my game i found a system named moloch (and founded a colony in it because fuck the path)
There was one time in a nexerelin run where I went to a system to invade stuff and there was a pather colony named "Her"

Gargoyle's appearance is so David Bowie in the 70's. Surely they didn't name the character Ziggy Stardust to avoid copyright issues.

You can dodge the explosion of the gates by using the tranverse jump before use the janus device
That's such a badass move tbh. Going to have to try that.
The space beast isn't real, it can't hurt me

Ground defenses feel super undercooked. I expect they'll get overhauled when we finally get the orders tab online.

I'm pretty sure Higgs Boson has zero spin..
I love how ypu just call Askonia "Phillip's".
Big brain time, can I ask you what control settings you use? Is it just the default? If so you are really good at piloting

love the content! any interest in modded sector? I would enjoy your playstyle with a new faction! cheers
I am planning to do modded runs with plenty of new factions. Just gotta finish this playthrough first!

The writing is decent enough. The writer is very left leaning though, so just be glad it hasnt devolved into "x character says trans right!!"
