The fact this guy was setting up multiple t spins and was still between top 20/top 10 shows how crazy this lobby was. Competitive tetris is serious business and the skill level has only increased since the Tetris and friends days.
not gonna lie, a quickplay (or a FFA) lobby is pretty rng since the targeting system is kinda random sometimes. He was probably really good though compared to the few remaining players
@@Mockisquick plays are so rng based it’s crazy. I’ve managed to get top 10 and top 5 in one of these and I am nowhere near as good as even an A+ rank

You seen the insanity the NES tetris community has been up to? They developed an entirely new way to hold the NES controller so they could get past level 29, which was intended to be unplayable. They're currently trying to get past level 255 so that the level counter wraps back to the first level.
How many max outs do you need to qualify now days? I remember 500k being a qualification now i am scared

Lol Tetris came out 40 years ago, and there are literally people I know IRL have been playing some form of "battle/versus" Tetris for 10+ years if not longer. It's like getting smoked in a competitive FPS game like Counterstrike - the top tier people either play the fuck out of the game today, but even the upper-mid tier people is filled with people who have 10+ years of competitive FPS experience to fall back on

Modern competitive Tetris is probably THE most neglected community in existence. The organisers of competitive Tetris only cares about Classic to the point even in a Tetris Mind Benders tournament (a tournament meant for THE NEW GAME) they still play Classic Tetris exclusively anyway.
And any and all official Tetris tournaments that come up, it's Classic Classic Classic. This really has to change.

This game isn't pure tetris is it? Some of those spins to drop wouldn't work on standard
ye tetrio has a few differences from guideline tetris, the main ones being (1) 180 spins, (2) 0 line clear delay/spawn delay and customizable DAS/ARR, which makes it even more absurdly fast, and (3) a different combo table that heavily nerfs 4-wide
