At 4:00, I learned to drive on a '58 Buick Special. I have so many fond memories of that car. Sadly, as bad as I wanted it, it was traded while I was stationed in Germany and I never saw it again.
My love for 1950's American cars started-no pun intended-with the Stephen King book Christine put to film and my obvious favourite is the 1958 Plymouth Fury Long Live Ole Christine!!!
I had a 57 Ford , black and white just like in the pic. A 49 chev, a 60 chev, 348 engine 3 carbs and full race. , 49,50,and 51 Ford, 61 tbird, 68 bronco. 54 mercury. Beautiful all.
Oh... Im have the same story, im 15 from Russia, i like all things and features from 50s of USA, i just can't imagine me in new cars like toyota, and im can't "contact" with this cars, because Russia is a big dark hole. Im sad(
haha, well, I dunno about avoiding remakes....the 50's had so many covers of virtually every song around at the time. But still, maybe on one of the other videos you'll hear something you like better...I have about 3 of them. They should all be in a playlist, but due to a glitch on RUclipss part I am in the process of remaking all the playlists that have been deleted and re doing all of the video responses...so I do apologise if finding them proves tricky!
The Pink '58 Buick is ridiculous! I own a '58 Cadillac Fleetwood and a '59 Cadillac Fleetwood. I also want a '58 Buick Limited. But they are extremely difficult to find. If the one in your video crossed the auction block for sale, it would bring close to $200,000!
Nice work Amaranthus616 ! It is good to see people in your generation so appreciative of the styles that my generation grew up with. I know that this was published 6 years ago so I hope that your enthusiasm has not waned. As an owner of a 1958 Buick Roadmaster 75, the sister model to the 1958 Limited that you displayed, I was doubly pleased that you picked it as one of your favorites. Glad to have you in the "club" of car enthusiasts and design admirers. Rock on brother!
being 25 and owning several of the cars you pictured I can offer you some advice: Owning a 50s American automobile is one of the greatest joys for a car enthusiast. My favorite are the Buicks of 1955-1959. I have a few videos on youtube showing my 59 LeSabre hardtop. If you ever get the chance to buy a post war American car take it! You will feel good about yourself every time you see it and drive it. Cheers from the Heartland
OMG!!! I cry everything I see these Detroit wonders. So, Sooo beautiful. I wish Detroit made cars like these again. Such luxury, such styling, especially the finned cars. These were the days you could tell one from another. Not like the crap that's made today!! Oh how I miss the grandeur of old Detroit.😭😭
I still have my father's 1956 Continental MKII. Fully rebuilt motor, and still looking like a "queen." The thing is, however, it's a "smog monster" and I suppose that's easy to forget. When I start it up, I feel like warning the neighbors ... LOL. Nowadays, in Southern California, the air is clear and lovely; and you can see the distant mountains. In the 1950s the air was brutal. The 50s cars are art pieces ... but deadly!
CONGRESS SOLD OUT TO LEGALIZED BRIBES,, SPECIAL INTERESTS,,, LOBBY MONEY CORRUOTION,, 40 + YRS AGO. WHY NO FACTORIES. JUST FINAL ASSY POINTS. EVEN PRODUCED VEGGIES,, FOODS,, PROCESSED OUTSIDES USA. OUR GOOD STUFF GOES ELSEWHERE. NOT USA. 2,000,,, 3,,000 MILES AWAY. WHAT A JOKE.
when I was a little kid, our neighbors were in the neon sign business and their nice California ranch style house had a neon house number on it, they also had a new pink 58 Lincoln. I'm in my 50's now and I still remember it!
I wasn't born until 1959 but many of these cars were still on the road when I was growing up. As for your drawings at least I could determine what make they were!!
All time favorite : ‘57 Ford Fairlane two door hardtop. Such a handsome design. It’s one of the years Ford outsold Chevrolet but the popular thinking is that the’57 Chevrolet was the most popular. While it was popular, it wasn’t as many think : few, if any car buyers at that time could afford the high buck, full dress two door hardtop models. Remember the pay scale in that era was around 3.00 an hour. The entry level pay was $1.65 an hour. When you figure rent, groceries, kids, gasoline, etc. it’s why most bought a 4 door sedan . Upgrades like a heater, defroster, two tone interiors, outside mirrors, back up lights, cigarette lighters, radio, tinted windshield were all extra cost. So sun visors, continental kits, two tone exteriors and such were not on every car then. Sure there were folks with the money, like my aunt and uncle who bought a ‘52 Ford station wagon, then a new Thunderbird in ‘56. But not many people had two cars or that kind of money.
back then you didn't need to see a badge on a car to know which make it was not like today with all the health and safety the fun has been taken out of cars
Cool video man, I don't know what I would do if I grew up in Europe and didn't have access to all these sweet rides. I would go nuts. I have been car crazy since I was a kid, my first car was a 60' Chevy and now have my 64' Galaxie with big block trucks and a vette in between. I feel for you. I hope one day you can cruise in your own Detroit classic.
I also love (most) 1950s cars. I was 10 when the 1958 Buick came out ... I nearly vomited! An interesting car, because it was the ultimate "Godzilla" of the chrome age. What a design disaster! Still, it would be fun to own one of those abominations!
The 50's might be the dream period for most people, but the things I like from there are the cars and the music. They both rock in my opinion. Also the neon...the neon was cool too >_>
no problem, yeah its a shame that newer cars arent as fancy as these. but its cool that you got to grow up with one. my dad had a vaxhaul cresta way back when but since sold it off
its an ok car, but ive never really been a fan of it. as for the dodge, yeah thats a good one, although i would have extended the fins on it to see what that looks like, but as it is its really nice
I was born in 53. My dad liked Chryslers. We use to sit on the street corner and see if we could name the different cars and the year of manufacture as they went by. Great memories. As a suggestion have you ever thought of building a Model Kit of those 50's cars? I have just finished a 58 Edsel Pacer.
Back then they were built like tanks? And very roomie inside ‘ I myself love the contour and streamline of that era! Oooh and by the way I love your drawing!!! ❤️🇺🇸
All any of the car makers want to build these days are cookie cutter cars that look the same across all lines. No style, no class and more plastic than metal. You can bet none of them will live as long as these classics and certainly won't see any being restored. You wouldn't have anything if you did by then.
I can see that you like the big fins. You missed one with the biggest, the 59 Cadillac. At least in the UK you had those gorgeous Rolls Royce Silver Wraiths. I'm American and was a kid in the fifties. I thought the fins were way overdone and preferred 50's cars without them, like a 52 Chevy, a 55 Buick and a 55 or 56 Mercury. The 50 and 51 Mercurys were also great looking 50's cars and had no fins. I liked the 58 Buick Limited but most critics said it had way too much chrome.
VERY nice video! I share your fine taste in automobiles! lol! Thanks for the amazing display. Check out the 59 Buick Lesabre. Forgive me if that was in your video. I was multi tasking.
We had a1957 Studebaker President i learned to drive in that car had to parallel park to pass my test I was 16 I think I’ll go back if I only had a magic wand 🤭❤️
I'm not surprised I made any mistakes, I have to live through these cars second hand over the internet and other media. I am too young and live in the U.K. to have had these cars common place. I've only ever seen such vehicles twice in my whole lifetime driving around town. Seen a few 70's cars from the U.S. though. Thanks anyways. It's a shame annotations are no longer a thing.
Yeah you are right about US cars of the 50's and 60's. Real attractive, most of them. But look at the UK cars of the same era, in UK movies. Just plain ugly, they are. It's no wonder then, that even as a UK youth, you'd prefer US cars.
Aww, I had a comeback to your personal message to me where you say "Just stfu" but you blocked me, so here it is here instead. "No, you send offence you GET offence back, two way street. I like classic cars, I think they look nice, it's a piece of history, that's all there is to it. I don't see how classic cars is stupid, you make no sense it's just cars. So, if you wanna indulge in the fake world of celebrities then fine, I'll block you so we can both be happy" looks like he got there first
how? youtube is about showing off videos of various things. i like these cars so i wanted to show that...its no more stupid than the mindless celebrity crap you watch
the first tune was ok but that remake is butt awful! throw a different sound track on it and this is ok but not with these remakes they're kinda sorta wellp YUCKY!
At 4:00, I learned to drive on a '58 Buick Special. I have so many fond memories of that car. Sadly, as bad as I wanted it, it was traded while I was stationed in Germany and I never saw it again.
I grew up with these beautiful, powerful cars. Wish I had one now. Don't let anybody steal your dream.
Very beautiful cars !! I sure wish they were back !! They were all steel chrome which I really loved !!
I have a 58 Ford Fairlane. I love it. People stop me and admire all the time.
the music is from the fifties also we cruise and listen
I must admit. That kid had a very respectable knowledge. Especially in that period of time.
My love for 1950's American cars started-no pun intended-with the Stephen King book Christine put to film and my obvious favourite is the 1958 Plymouth Fury Long Live Ole Christine!!!

Imagine riding in these cars with this kind of music. Now imagine riding in a 2019 car with today's garbage on the radio. Which era would you take?
haha, well, I dunno about avoiding remakes....the 50's had so many covers of virtually every song around at the time. The music is awesome, I could listen to it for the rest of my life..... great job!,,
Sweet, I like cars from the 50's and 60's as well. Especially when they have the fins and curves.
That era was a time all by it self. There's nothing like it and there hasn't been since. 1950-1959. " The Fabulous 50's",
4:51 I've had the pleasure to see that very Buick in person more than a few times in my life. It's only an hour away from my home!
Gorgeous car, my goodness!!! 👍🏻🙂
I was born in '50,grew up riding in,and surrounded by those cars, and owned more than a few of them,I quite liked your video !
But, fully restored, it would be worth every penny and more.
Damn, some how I will get me one o f those beautiful cars.
You are right. The Swedish really take the old classic American cars seriously. You all have some big car shows.
Memories were made to remember those vintage wheels that really feels great and happy now that we're getting older and older....Be safe guys.
MEMORIES TAKES ME BACK IN TIME LOVE THE 50S CARS

Haha yes, there is no chance of me losing interest in these vehicles at all. I still love them!
being 25 and owning several of the cars you pictured I can offer you some advice: Owning a 50s American automobile is one of the greatest joys for a car enthusiast. I really wish I had the 1958 Studabaker commander, however their parts are rare.
I was born in '43 and left home in '61, all those cars are really familiar to me. Thanks for the nostalgia.
Horace Hogsnort I bet you have some great stories?
Darius World that's how it starts
Born in '45 so I've seen the really great cars Americans USED to build. Haven't seen an exciting car from anywhere in years!
I still have my father's 1956 Continental MKII. Fully rebuilt motor, and still looking like a "queen." The thing is, however, it's a "smog monster" and I suppose that's easy to forget. Nicely done young man.
People whom love the 50's have more heart and soul than most. Believe me

haha nice
maybe one day ill get one and get to drive it around some, it would certainly brighten up the area
the cars were great-Small wonder they command a king's ransom now. The music was well-chosen Heartwarming
Batmobile type.fins!!!!.
Submarine SEAVIEW type fins!!!.
If I recall correctly the 1958 Buick Limited is the vehicle that boasts the most chrome of at least any American Vehicle ever manufactured.
The entire '58 Buick line did. But if anyone was crazy enough to rear end one, their cars would be totaled....like ramming a tank!
The 50's might be the dream period for most people, but the things I like from there are the cars and the music. They both rock in my opinion.
Also the neon...the neon was cool too >_>
My mom used to have a 57 fairlane convertible.
You might own one of these classics one day,you never know.I hope you do.
classics are always better but for me i wud say the 60s were the best years :)
no problem, yeah its a shame that newer cars arent as fancy as these. but its cool that you got to grow up with one. my dad had a vaxhaul cresta way back when but since sold it off
Better than the Computerized Plastic Shit stones that we drive today!
its an ok car, but ive never really been a fan of it. as for the dodge, yeah thats a good one, although i would have extended the fins on it to see what that looks like, but as it is its really nice
top of the range were these cars.
'Bettie' Christine's cousin my '57 Chrysler Saratoga Thanks You for this perfect list
I was born in 53. My dad liked Chryslers. We use to sit on the street corner and see if we could name the different cars and the year of manufacture as they went by. Great memories.

I have a few of the '50s it models and older
I'm a Ford man but those Buicks and Caddies ummmmm, that a lot of iron
Who cares about the music, it is the CARS that rock here :)
The music goes with the car's era
Back then they were built like tanks? And very roomie inside ‘ I myself love the contour and streamline of that era! Oooh and by the way I love your drawing!!! ❤️🇺🇸
Dude you gotta love the 1955 Chevy Bel Air
better yet the 55 Ford Crown Victoria or the Studebaker President Speedster !
best is Caddy ´59 or Dodge ´59!!!!
Really Americans vintage car very high class and elegant 🌹🌹🌹
Please can we wind back the clock that was when cars were really cars.
I owned before a 55 Ford sedan and a 58 Ford Retractable......feel sad, if we could only bring back the past.....
All any of the car makers want to build these days are cookie cutter cars that look the same across all lines. No style, no class and more plastic than metal. Why don't today's cars have fins?.
Back then fins were king !!!!!.
It's a song called My Love by The Five Arcades.
wats the name of the first song!!?? i love oldies but ive never herd that one
I can see that you like the big fins. You missed one with the biggest, the 59 Cadillac. At least in the UK you had those gorgeous Rolls Royce Silver Wraiths.

I personally like the 57 fury over the 58 plymouth.
Randy Gardner I'd go with christine
We had a1957 Studebaker President i learned to drive in that car had to parallel park to pass my test I was 16 I think I’ll go back if I only had a magic wand 🤭❤️
Como as músicas de fundo, - os automóveis mostrados são icones e reflexos de uma cultura sem limites e sem idade. maneco - RGS - Brasil.
Yo bro, how's it goin'? you've got one of them already? please tell me
What is the song @ 4:07?
Amaranthus616
Could you add the title's of the songs? Al Casey is one those "forgotten" rock'n roll heroes?
@@aris95, look at 10:17...they are all listed.
It's me again. At 5:43 you are showing a 1957 Chevy but call it "1957 Chrystler Windsor" WHAT? I don't think so! I remember these cars really well.
I'm not surprised I made any mistakes, I have to live through these cars second hand over the internet and other media. I am too young and live in the U.K. to have had these cars common place. Yeah I do prefer the American sort, although I do like some of the ones you had here in the U.K. I like the Ford Zephyr and Vaxhaull Velox.
Styling peaked in 1958 and 1959, then quickly descended into 30 years of ugly boxiness.
Looking for a 50s car ill buy beat up needs work body on frame anyone let me know
wow. no. 59 impala? ?????
Sonny tbone 58 was better imo
