November 2019 . 3 am ... listening this song in a stranger country in a rent room . Crying and thinking how much life changed in 10 years. Wish I was again 13 ( just getting a laptop) discovering RUclips and listening to this boys who’s names I was learning to remember instead of doing homework. Ohh ... how I miss those time . Back at home , my mom doing her things in the house and me following her talking unstoppable about Korea. I haven’t listened to this song in ages ( b2st was the first kpop band , after them I found out about MBLAQ and Big Bang ) watching all those funny reality show with them ( not knowing neither korean or English at that time ) . All I wanna say this boys and that era of kpop has a big place in my heart . And just to say music actually has a big big power . I’m scrolling down trough all the old kpop songs and each of them has a different but strong energy. What times we had ... what times . ( also back then probably in my whole country where let’s say about 10 people who will know about kpop , maybe less haha 🇲🇩 ) now my sister sends me video of my niece at dance competition and there’s blackpink songs at kids competition s , stores are daily full with BTS. And PSY was everywhere at some point . And I’m kinda happy about it . But , I feel like my safe place, my island of escape was took away and become a mainstream. What you guys think about it ? ... I mean I still have chance to escape and hide myself into this old kpop that are still as they were . Which is amazing ❤️
you perfectly described my feelings ~~ i was exactly the same, starting kpop with b2st, and then exploring everyone else. (also just learning english, i always had to translate everything :D) even the 'talking to my mom about korea' is so nostalgic, i could tell her everything and not stop for a whole day :D after a while tho i actually stopped listening to kpop around 2014 and just got back into it after maybe 5-6 years, and now it's everywhere and mainstream, and it's a totally different experience and i really feel "old" and nostalgic about 2nd gen kpop (the youth call it "retro" nowadays lol) i mean also i love the new groups but listening to my old favs hits hard ~
