@@miaramer Mine were stressful, my dad was in the hospital for heart surgery and recovering over Christmas but he seems to be recovering nicely now. Anyways I'm glad you had a great Christmas. I recorded several songs over the past month and posted some, so that's great.
The French pronounce portera differently. They make a sound that can't be spelled in English. It's like the back of the tongue does a short rolling R sound while emphasising a semi silent T, so the rt in portrea just baffles me but it sounds beautiful. It's a really nice song. Does that make sense Mia?
Maravillosa interpretación musical, la voz y el arpa entran en simbiosis, algunos fragmentos modestamente diría que se autorealizan en modo perfecto y sublime, ejm. Min 1:24
Yes I could, I'd have to see how it sounds because the bass notes tend to resonate a lot. I actually made this arrangement for a smaller harp that doesn't have bass strings
@@miaramer Hmm! that sounds logical now I come to think of it. The longer strings would resonate like they do on the double bass. Skiffle also have a long stringed instrument made out of a tea chest and a plank of wood but it's single string is long and also resonates. I've no experience of a harp. What would happen to the sound if the longer strings were tightened up a bit? Naturally it would be out of tune but what sort of sound would it produce and what sort of music would it suit. Is it possible to do slap bass on a classical harp I wonder. I suppose it's just as well I don't have the skills to find out but if I did I would commit musical blasphemy in a heart beat. lol!!!
@@antman5474 Haha. Yeah there's a lot of different ways to play the harp experimentally :D I'm not sure how tightening the strings would change the sound, except the pitch. I've never tried it
Sorry, me again. Could this be translated into English? It's such a nice piece of music but I don't know what it's about. I'm sure it's good though, it sounds beautiful even though I have no idea what it's about.
Hey, welcome back! "Le vent nous portera" means "the wind will carry us". To be honest I'm not sure I understand the rest of the lyrics of the song, it's very obscure and poetic, but still beautiful. Maybe finding the lyrics online and google translating them can give you and idea? :)
@@miaramer It's abstract then? okay. I trust you're well Mia. Perhaps I should look into it, it's a nice melody. I may get round to googling it. Thank's xx
@@antman5474 Yes, exactly, it is very abstract. Lots of other musicians have covered it beautifully :) I'm well, thanks, doing a lot of live streams on Twitch at the moment!
Le vent nous portera has become a favourite of mine, I've even heard an English translation of it. It's a really nice composition, albeit in French. Forgive me but je suis Anglais. Does that make me an arsehole given my history with the French? It's way better than Greensleeves by the way.
@@miaramer It's been well covered, I've head a fair few examples from all over and I love them all. But I heard it here first. I wonder where it came from, who wrote it, what inspired them to do so? Is it French and if so which province and why? I'll do my own research but thank you for bringing it to my attention ♥
Sublime!!!
