And Mariah is 5th on Rolling Stone’s 200 Greatest Singers of All-Time list. The list got a lot of backlash, but I’m glad Mariah is there.
Good catch! There was no way she was going to reveal the inspiration behind The Roof and My All during that pivotal and very turbulent period of her life. Especially with all the uncertainty and tension with her record label and ex-husband/chairman of Sony; revealing the Derek Jeter romance behind her most personal songs would’ve been bad… which just makes it all the more interesting and surreal to look back at moments from interviews like this one with the context we now have from her memoir. And haha, like you said, Mariah is the queen of many things and one such thing, is dodging questions 😅 and she’s so quick with it too!
To me she looks sad and tired. It seems like she had some deep deep sadness and some anger at the time that she brought into the interview with her. Probably something going on in her personal life and/or behind the scenes in her professional life🤷🏽♀️

Hi MC, thank you for reaching out! You are absolutely right, all the short bits and pieces are annoying. Although we still need to split the original tape up in segments but going forward we will extend the lengths to approximately 4 minutes per segment if applicable.
