pappo was a special guest of b.b. king in the madison squear garden ,according to b.b. king pappo was the best guitarist out of usa he has ever known
BB king even phoned Pappo`s sister when he found Pappo died in a motorcycle accident. BB King`s assistant told her and I quote: "THE MASTER IS CRYING". Both absolute legends!
I'm from Argentina and I grew up listening to his music. He was a legend here, actually he lived kinda near where I did.
He also played a lot with Motorhead and I was fortunate enough to see him, once for his birthday: a concert that ended up with 20 legendary musicians from different blues and rock bands up on stage and he even invited a random guy from the crowd to play amongst all of them.
The other time was a tribute to B.B King he did here, and Tony Coleman was on the drums. A magic night of blues.

Hola, me gusto el video, y me gusta la difusión de un artista q para mi es un referente de la época para la formación del heavy metal argentino, o como le decimos acá "metal", así como también otros grupos lo fueron, pappo tuvo la singularidad de ser de los referentes más carismáticos, y el líder de la. Banda insignia del metal argentino para mi que fue riff, si no la escuchaste te invito a escucharla, y también te invito a escuchar a otra banda llamada "hermética" y también a escuchar los 2 volúmenes de los discos "pappo y amigos" en donde tocan otras bandas iconicas del metal y del rock argentino. Eso también fue el estallido de la inclusión entre los estilos que en ese entonces no se veía que bandas de otros géneros toquen con otras, bueno desde ya gracias, y un saludo

As someone mentioned before, Pappo (Norberto Napolitano) aka "El Carpo" in reference to the carpus finger articulation, was a special guest of B.B.King since he met him in Argentina during the 90´s. When Pappo died in a car accident, The King of the Blues B.B., phoned his family and cried in deep sadness, what else can you say.

Gracias Robk por recoradar a nuestro querido Pappo,cumplire 63 años el11de julio proximo y tuve la suerte de verlo tocar en vivo en sus comienzos cuando yo era muy joven y el tambien,su sonido era demoledor,no podia creer lo que hacia con los dedos mientras cantaba este tema,fue un referente para mi junto con Eric Clapton y todos loa grandes guiarristas que escuchaba en los años 60/70...Fue y es una gran perdida para el Rock and roll pesado y el blues,de nuevo te agradezco amigo y cuidate mucho,aqui en cuarentena descubri tu video y wow te felicito..Un abrazo Grande desde Argentina !!!

The main idea is the line "Nothing changes if I'm a little dirty, as long as my head is effective". 2 years before the release of this song, the last 'de facto' government in Argentina had begun. It was a military government. This song is from a time in my country where rockers, hippies, students and many other minorities were judged and pollitically persued just because of their looks or their thoughts. So you see the importance of Pappo's statement in that time.
I recommend you other important argentinean artists as well, such as Luis Alberto Spinetta, Charly García and Indio Solari. All with their respective bands and their solo works as well.

En Inglaterra fue amigo del baterista de LED Zeppelin y vivió de cerca el nacimiento del metal y del rock en londres donde vivió muchos años llendo y viniendo muchas veces, luego comienza con el blues y conoce a bb king quien lo lleva a tocar al Madison squad tarden diciendo es el único blanco en el mi do que toca como un negro, creo todo, es uno de los pioneros mundiales del heavy metal con su banda riff tiene millones historias y murió monta do una moto y chocando contra un container

Everybody talks about Pappo, now they praise him, now he is the hero of argentinean music, but when he was alive, nobody went to his concerts. I remember been in a bar in some suburbian city, like 2 years before he died, and we were like 50 people, for real. Pappo playing in a small scenario in front of 50 dudes.
Everybody became a fan after his death, but they always ignored Pappo when he was alive.
