Let's not forget, that those men in, 1912,16,19,22, 80 were all Irishmen looking to archive the same goal. To cast any aside because of their different methods is to cast them all aside. All violence is wrong. Sometimes it takes violence to achieve what talking can't or won't. These are the people who decide, Ya or Na, not the people who do the dirty work.

A sad story for both sides. Brother vs Brother and mismanegement from London. Centuries of injustice always end badly and, as always, those who have been oppressed have very good memory. 1916 was the tipping point which caused the final avalanche.

AIM - Alternative Irish Media the Somme was not until July 1916 until then it was not even heard of let alone a battlefield. Facts are important not myths

@@southafricandominion Here's a quick timeline of events culminating in the useless slaughter of the Somme. Redmond was promised a THIRD Home Rule Bill in April 1912, with a two year delay by the Lords. The Irish Volunteers were established in November 1913 to enforce Home Rule in 1914. April 1914, the Carsonites smuggled guns, despite the ban in March. June 1914 Redmond issued an ultimatum, splitting the Irish Volunteers, with The O'Rahilly, his assistant, Éamonn Ceannt & Eoin MacNeill emerging as leadership. In July 1914 Erskine Childers & Thomas Myles secured much smaller arm shipments. Having received Royal Assent in September 1914, the War had broken out in August, and by 16 August Redmond was accepting another delay for Home Rule after the War, and in September at Woodenbridge commiting Irish soldiers to die uselessly in Europe. Healy & O'Brien rightly rejected partition. This split the Irish into 142,000 National Volunteers, with the 9,700 Irish Volunteers. The New Army 16th (Irish) Division was created, and suffered severe losses in a futile and stupid war. Pearse led a 1,000-strong march through Limerick in May 1915, helping Irishmen to realize dying in Europe was a ridiculous waste of life & to resist the draft. On 24 April 1916 the Irish Repulic Proclamation was read aloud. The executions stirred Irish Repubicanism, as Redmond proved to be insensitive to the soldiers dying in Europe & to the revolutionaries trying to stop the War & a sectarian partition. July 1916 Lloyd George promised Home Rule again but with more betrayals including permanent sectarian partition, and then The Home Rule Bill was finally scuppered by Unionists on 22 July 1916 as had happened many times before. The Ulstermen & Irish Regiments were then slaughtered in the Somme from July to November 1916, just as Pearse had warned. It's time for the orange & green Irish to unite and remove themselves from the war of London to exterminate the continental Europeans, which only kills us all.
