My dad was a roofer up until he was 75 . He loved workin with HOT , he had a passion for it .
Very nicely done very professional installation I like the attention to detail

good work ! damn that looks like a tough job
Great video! Interesting system!
Very impressive and professional.
Wow man. Those were the days.
I was telling stories today . As a carpenter on a roof in the middle of August for many years . I can only imagine the intense heat . Far beyond whatever I have ever experienced . I am still a carpenter after 40 years . When I see Men like this ,doing this work . I pray for them , Lord Comfort them . ..At times I have thought of a bikini model telling her million dollar story . About how hard it is to model on a beach in Tahiti for ten minutes
Good job guys!!
it reminds me my old days when I was 18 yrs old running on top of the hot asphalt .
I used to follow the machine when installing 2 base ply.
the only question i got ...why not used the painted cap sheet already . you could just go back and touch it up later on. but the way you finished it, it's a master piece!
greetings from an Ex Union Roofer Local 220 from Downey California !!
Eric Garcia.
P.S. for some Idiots making a bad comment . I forgive them ...they don't know crap about commercial roofing.
Can you give me advice. I’m beginning. The veterans are giving me a hard time.
@@arodz2710 just concentrate on learning my friend. Watch videos and slowly try to learn on your own ,be patient
Damn. Very nice THOROUGH job 👍🏽
Awesome job
Good job guys
Excellent job! Hope you guys are drinking enough water in that southwest heat.
Nice work. 40 years in the trade
Nice to see real roofers.
You can smell that video can't ya?
$$$$
good work very good work
Looks great! Better than the work I had done.
😂love the music 😂
that looks great
Damn! Did a sweet looking professional job there. Interesting to me, not something I see up here in the north bit of canada where I am ....for us it's trying to get more heat from the sun in winter and insulating the roof good.
I remember following my dad with a broom to push the air out...had a Gatorade bottle with a capped hole filled with gas to squirt on the broom to prevent sticking...1993
doesn't gasoline ruin-butamine ?
Brilliant
pueden hacer un video de cemento plástico para ver como ustedes lo hace o como queda
hey
that pour box with the holes underneath it , where do i find one of those?
It's 3 ply 15lbs paper, cap sheet, and coating?
Sand paper in bottom is vapor barrier?
How harsh is the heat on those roofs? Currently roofing in Los Angeles Ca & want to move out over there but I’m scared I won’t be able to hang in AZ weather haha
What's the average price per square remove and replace??
Very nice!
If you’re going to use a sprayer for the top coat be sure to watch for overspray caused by winds.
I'm guessing they know that, those guys are even back rolling the coating which is something left out by 90% of contractors who do coatings.
How long should a home with a flat roof last before it’s life expectancy .?

3:24: Did you prime the pitch pocket?
stupid comment deserves a stupid answer
how much does a roof like that cost to do?
Great Video! Excellent Workmanship! I own a roofing company in Buffalo, NY. I have traveled out to Phoenix many times. I had no idea they used hot tar roofing applications. I was under the impression they used a lot of cool roofs such as elastomeric, PVC, or TPO. What kind of coating was it that you used for the final product?
James Naples its called cover up the mistakes
Glad to see contractors commenting on someone's work. I retired as a roofing contractor in the Tx. panhandle after 35 years. Back and knees were wore out. Had a hip replacement and 2 back operations since I retired and the last back operation ended up with a staph infection and that damn near killed me. Because of it I cannot stand except for a minute or so have to walk with support, can't drive, etc.
Maybe you should come out from that rock you have been under! That is a “cool” roof once they sprayed the white elastomeric coating after they installed the built-up hot roof.
@@martinjvillasenor773 did you work for progressive roofing out of Arizona
@@mariorobles379 yes that same one only you and I worked for progressive out in Oxnard CA . . . villamjv@yahoo.com
supuestamente lleva los ply abago de los flashing y 2 mas Arriba
Pero eso es diferente al mapeado que le dicen?
The white will came off because of the oils vs water base coating , it needs time to bleed the oils and then pressure wash and apply primer, so it will stick to capsheet . other than that great job.
Thresher shark No manufacturer requires a newly installed cap sheet be pressure washed before a top coating is applied ,the industry standard is a 30 to 90 day waiting period before a plying a top coat ,the wait depends on the roof being coated , a fresh 4 ply with a squeegee coat of asphalt requires 90 days for the asphalt to flash off ,a cap sheet system only requires 30 days and at no time should it be pressure washed before top coating .
Michael Ledford . We pressure wash the roofs before coating. The roof coating won't stick on dust, or bleeding oils . There is a product that gaco sells to stop bleeding but is silicone coatings for new roofs but we never used it , we used energy capsheet or energy cap torch that already has the coating. Most the roofs that we coat we used asphalt emulsion as primer , with polyester because it's water base. I'm not saying is bad job! Some roofs the coating is to stop leaks and other cases is a Reflector. And you case is a Reflector and to make the job clean, and my case sometimes is going to be my water proof , I have make sure it soaks into the roof and it's going last for another 5 to 10 years the roof. In the West cost takes even years to wash off a roof all bleeding oils. We don't get to much rain here. Have a great day.

shut up idiot ...you know nothing about roofing.
Yea good job.
why no can't strip on the curbs
They used cant . . .just not on the flanged penetrations . . .standard procedure
What's the difference between 2 ply and 4 ply.
16 inches.
buen video compas saludos desde Santa Rosa Ca.
Im an hvac tech so i work on the units up there lol
wow
Use 1.2” base sheet fasteners with 3” round stress disk for wind up lift. Also use magnetic “pogo” sticks for the men to pound fasteners in makes production much more efficient.
Forget that. . . Use a automatic nailer (it puts down a disc and drives a nail right thru it)
these poor guys had to secure the base by hand and cap nails? dayam.. we use staple and tape guns here.
Do not use a burner on the felt machine as it will warp out the aluminum housing. Felt machine must be empty of hot tar at end of day and add 1/2 pint oil to prevent tar harden on dispenser.
Anybody who’s done any amount of commercial hot roofing will warm up the machine with a torch to eliminate streaks (holidays) when the aluminum felt layer is cold.
these essays dont play no games
That's what I do at work every day what's the pay rate guys think my a robber🚩
Sry but in Europe is this nothing
Old system
way too much HOT is being layed down
ShadowGuardX not for cap sheet ,they used the correct amount of hot ,cap requires twice the pounds per square of asphalt as a built up roof .
Asphalt makes the roof was my guidelines. A retired roofing contractor after 35 years.
You can never use too much hot I put that sht on my fries 🍟
This roof is more expensive than the building itself
