I didn't really like volleyball before watching Haikyuu!, now I realized that I just didn't know the complexity of the plays, or know how the sport rules in general
And despite that the show is really accurate, looking at the slow-mo at the end of the video of the real deal and it's actually like the same thing, obviously you can't rly get the camera angels in real life that you can in anime but, accurate nonetheless
I've played a very small bit of volleyball and it looks fast, but I don't react, I watch and memorize moves beforehand (which will probably get me in trouble lol) and it makes the game so slow, or maybe my mind speeds up. I just mean to say, when you're actually playing, it's slower in a way

I think it's situational for example they'll be like: "Next time if either who can pull it off is in the backrow and the setter has the first touch let's do it."

Those of you who are thinking that some kind of communication is happening in volleyball. No. This is purely the athelete's reaction time. They are always expecting the ball to come to them and hence they are ready for such situations.

Right, it's a lot of training and perseverance, but above all, they have to understand each other.
i think they might have a hand sign for that specific motion, since you could kind of tell that the hitter knew the ball was coming.
