My mother scored a bunch of the DK colors for 50 cents a ball at a local thrift store a couple years ago and gave it to me. The colorway wasn't my preferred colors but I did enjoy working with the yarn. I'd definitely use it again. That neon pom pom yarn is super cute. I would definitely use it similarly to your idea, pairing it with a solid and probably making a hat and scarf set. I look forward to seeing what pattern you choose for it.
Funny you should show that pompom yarn. I just saw a post on my Instagram from Hobbii with similar or possibly the exact same yarn. That might be the mill ends from wherever they source their stuff.
I love Premier Yarns. I know every time I use it I wont break out like I do with some other brands. If you haven't, check out Jenn over at Cinnamon Stitches, she is a Premier user big time. She's an affiliate and can answer pretty much all of your Premier questions. I cant remember if it was Jenn or Creative Grandma that used that pom pom yarn in a project. But they held 2 together. At first I was thinking one of the new Joann's Big Twist variegated colors or Red Heart Retro Stripes with that pom pom yarn. Then you said granny square checker with it, OMG YES.
I have not ordered from Premier in a while either. Like you said, no specific reason against Premier, I've just been cutting back on yarn purchases this year and trying to only buy the yarns that really strongly catch my eye, which lately has been Herrschners. Thanks for sharing your goodies with us.
Would the pom pom yarn pair with any of the solid colors of Herrschners Neon Lights? I am suddenly picturing a very 80s/90s Lisa Frank style project pairing those two, if they'd coordinate well.

I immediately went to find that pom pom yarn on the Premier website, and they don't sell it anymore :( Glad you got some, though!
The pompom yarn is the one that they pair with Parfait Chunky to make the Parfait PomPom yarn. 😊
