- Did you know that 2011 marked Howard the Duck's 25th anniversary as the very first Marvel character to hit the Hollywood big time? Neither did anybody else, and that's got our favorite fowl furious!
With no help from Deadpool, M.O.D.O.K., Gremlin or Doctor Octopus, Howard the Duck takes his case to the very top of Marvel in hopes of getting a Silver Anniversary Blu-ray to call his own! About Marvel Super Heroes: What The--?
Witness a Marvel Universe like you have never seen before with a comedic take on your favorite heroes and villains using stop motion animation! Marvel Super Heroes: What The--?! continues Marvel’s tradition of comic book satires as made popular in the Marvel comic book series NOT BRAND ECHH (from the 1960s) and What The--?! (from the 1990s). This time around, it’s not only a new millennium but a new medium, with Marvel exercising its might in the world of stop-motion animation.

Howard deserves another shot.
Dang bro, I guess he’s not going to get it 🤷♂️ I was looking forward to it too.
Plot twist: Disney actually bought Lucas Films for Howard the Duck rights, not Star Wars.
DUN DUN DUN
Well Howard was a Marvel character and all that
M. Night Shyamalan: What a twist
Remember, Universal Pictures owns the movie distribution rights to Howard the Duck.
Makes sense
Howard defiantly deserves his own "Comeback" by now, or at least his own Animated Series.
A Netflix show would be nice eh? cash in on Deadpool
Joey Margolian I would so watch an animated series about Howard!!
What about a live-action/animation combo show with everyone flesh and blood and Howard animated like Roger Rabbit or Cool World or Son of Zorn?
Johnlindsey289 I would TOTALLY watch that!!
+Johnlindsey289 Sounds interesting
Hey Marvel,
Tell Hasbro to release that figure!! T
Thanks!
Hey dude love your videos
I have that figure, did you end up getting it too ?
I know you guys can get Disney Animation Studios to make a Howard the Duck CGI movie. Plus being him in the DuckTales universe would be awesome for anybody who grew up in the '90s.
Well, at least Howard should be glad that he finally has his 5 secs of fame in one of Marvel Studio's most critically acclaimed movies of all time!
And wouldn't him with Silver Surfer be cool in Guardians 3?
Critically acclaimed no, popular acclaimed? Yes
It's okay, Howard...pretty sure you're a shoe-in for Kingdom Hearts 3.
Well, Howard finally got an anniversary edition ten years later on 4K steelbook.
Well Howard the Duck has finally made it to Blu-Ray.
Yup and one of my guilty pleasures! and wouldn't Howard in the MCU be cool even in Guardians 2?
And you can thank Universal Pictures for that.
5 Years later, not just Blu-Ray release, also a 4K Ultra release :)
Hey wait, this means Howard's movie turned 30 this year. See Howard? Someone remembered.
If any movie is way over due for a reboot it's Howard the Duck....staring Peter Dinklage! With an R rating this time Marvel.
I could honestly see a HBO comedy series, a la Curb Your Enthusiasm, with some beautiful non-sequitur weirdness thrown in .
albee1000 Howard the duck with Deadpool
***** Spoiler alert
Only at the end credit we want him as we saw him in1986
***** And he was GOOD...
Seth Green already voiced him in the MCU (after credit scene in Guardians)
Waited 28 years to see him again! yes! Yes! YES! Thank you, Marvel!
Howard The Duck is some of the best satirical comics made by Marvel.
Lucas(on the phone): You know what...put him in an MCU film and I'll get behind it.
Lucas(to the office):Like that'll ever happen.
Office: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
-Flash forward to 2014 at the "Guardians of the Galaxy" premiere-
Lucas: Oh God Dammit!!
Well Marvel can do him justice as a show more than Lucas did
I love Howard the Duck
They sure make more Howard the duck action figure like the one in this video
0:19 But I'm sure Deadpool cares about HIS 25th Anniversary. It's February 2016 (next month).
Howard deserves a reboot
love how he is playing cards with villains and deadpool
I duckin' love Howard!
Cool character
One of my favorite movies from the 80's. It just screams 80's pop culture and should be respected even it it wasn't well recived. It was a fun movie plus it was the first full lengh Marvel movie to make it to theaters. Howard the Duck Blue Rey release for it silver would be an honorable thing to do.
I'm happy that Howard is in the MCU and made it into Avengers: Endgame. Dude deserves it. Can't wait to see him in What If...?.
I want see more video of Howard the duck
He's Back!
I loved Howard the Duck. I may be the only one. I watched it several times through the years and it was always good to me.
give howard the duck a second chance
That would make a funny TV-MA Netflix show eh?
What about my uncle did you give him a chance DID YOU!!
I loved the Howard The Duck movie!
Was a huge Howard the Duck fan, even before the movie -- would LOVE to see a Bluray of that flick...
RIP in peace Steve Gerber
A Howard the Duck movie reboot would be interesting, I'd watch it.
Universal dropped the ball on putting out a 25th Anniversary Blu-ray, so they get a No-Prize for that, but they are putting out a Blu-ray for the film's 30th anniversary on March 8, 2016. What I'm wondering is if Lucas finally picked up the check and what did he spend that sweet, sweet Marvel money on?
And wouldn't a Marvel Studios Howard film be cool?
Universal owns the movie distribution rights to Howard the Duck.
Money from playmates simpsons...
HOWARDS BACK!!!!
Come on Disney, give it a Blu-ray release. And I don't mean like the one you gave "The Great Muppet Caper, I mean the full on Diamond treatment, you give things like "The Lion King" and "Sleeping Beauty"!
Actually, the Blu-ray came out last March by Universal and Marvel.
Make a roger rabbit sequel
Roger Rabbit
Universal Pictures owns the rights to the film.
He's gonna be in guardians of the galaxy
Excellent work!
“Green-Green Iron Man dough”
I would so support it. I grew up watching that movie. Howard is still one of my favorites.
I have always loved the Howard The Duck movie. I've never understood why it was panned by critics.
And yeah it was ground breaking. The film doesn't get the credit it deserves.
It really nice to see Howard the Duck in the McU
Am I the only one that thinks the piano in the intro is beautiful. haha Howard the duck bluray! Bring it!
pretty sure disney bought lucas films in 2012.......
And Howard gets the last laugh.
And Marvel in 2009
You got your bluray! You did it.
Howard the duck should get his own Reboot!
A show be nice eh?
Howard the duck was awesome.
I loved that movie and howard is awesome!!!
That's GENIOUS!
These guys should make another Howard the duck video with Howard reacting to his cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy.
I have long waited for this movie to be out. GREAT for its time period!
on blu-ray?
howard the duck is on only dvd that i've seen.
KEVIN SHARADIN
It's at wal-mart for 7 bucks on blu-ray
omg thats awesome. i will have to buy it for sure. great movie. lea thompson is a babe
KEVIN SHARADIN
Damn right she was, i even dig the Cherry Bomb members and that topless duck chick, lol.
Wasn't Howard a lucky duck to score with Beverly?
Did you like his cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy? he might get a MCU movie
Awesome!
I wonder if the rumor is true about him being in Guardians of the Galaxy
Only a cameo tho...
Yes. I watched the ending credits and he was there. Once it comes out on DVD fast-forward to the ending credits and you'll see him....
That was cool eh?
The voice actor for Howard is precise
I would love this more than anything
don't forget one more day and one moment in time.
awesome!
Truer words could not be spoken :D
If Spider-Man and Mary Jane could remember the missing ounces of their lives, they'd probably agree with you.
A direct to video flick using the CGI recently shown off would be amazing.
What about him in the MCU?
Silver anniversary Blu-Ray, make it a Platinum Anniversary DVD/Blu-Ray Combo Pack.
We need more Howard the Duck. Stop hating him House of Ideas!
I liked Howard the Duck when i was young
Me too one of my guilty pleasures since i was 4 when i saw the movie on the big screen when i lived in St Louis and i got it on blu-ray, who knew that him and Blade were the first Marvel heroes to appear on the big screen. Did you liked his cameo in Guardians of Galaxy?
***** I haven't actually seen Guardians of the Galaxy yet lol.. But I heard about it.. My sister probably has the DVD already.. I just haven't gotten around to watching it yet.. but I plan on seeing the new Howard the Duck movie if/when it goes through..
ArkStudioGameVids
It's a must watch and stay through the credits to see Howard's cameo.
Marvel must do a new HTD movie with Ringmaster as the villain and Emma Watson as Beverly.
***** it is definitely on my Watch list. and ya gotta stay on through the credits.. especially with marvel movies xD..
That check gag reminds me of when Lorne Michaels interrupted Saturday Night Live to offer The Beatles $3,000.00 to reunite and play on SNL. This was when John Lennon was not only alive, but watching the show from The Dakota in NYC.
mi dad otld me that when he saw thise movies in VHS it was one of the most entertaing movies he had seen in a while. of course his childhood was 80s and late 70, now lookign back at the Avengers, big names actors, CGI beyond 80s times its seem his definiton for entertainig is very diffrent from mine.
From Howard the Duck to the Avengers, talk about coming a long way.
Great show.
I'd buy it. Howard is badass!
Rewatching this in 2020 made me remember that technically Howard is in the highest grossing movie ever at this point in time
Howard deserves another move
At least Howard is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
He's in a stop motion toy comedy here, in the cameo he's voiced by the co-creator of Robot Chicken.
I'm a big fan of Howard and I want a Blu-ray release of his movie. Also, make Howard The Duck 2: Quack To The Future.
Howard the Duck Platinum 26th Anniversary Criterion 3-Disc Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Pack.
MAKE IT HAPPEN MARVEL!!!
i would buy the blue ray......
that was a really cool movie :p
Would it be weird if that guy from "Firefly" made a cameo on GotG as a CGI Howard The Duck.
"heh! more than Howard's movie made!"
I love Deadpool
Howard is awesome
lol , i bought this film a couple yrs bck love it ...
Howard the Duck: The '86 Movie (1986), made by Lucasfilm and released by Universal Pictures.
Good intelligent response.
Does anyone know were to get that red suit howard figure all I can find is blue
You've been duck rolled!
I fully support this.
He wasn't forgotten he showed up in both guardians of the galaxy films and may show up in volume 3
Ooo people are always saying that George Lucas ruined the film, although he was only the producer not Director, and happened to produce the first big budget Marvel film. The Twist? Over 20 years later Disney owns both Lucas Films and Marvel. Let that soak in your head for the day.
he is comeing back cause of guradians of the gaxly
Well truth be told, it was really more of a cameo appearance, rather than a confirmation that he'll be apart of following films; due to the director being a major fan of Howard The Duck comics. There's no doubt that this does not confirm him to be apart of the universe. However to have someone like Seth Green voice him just for that particular scene, seems pretty suggestive that he'll make a return in later films. It does open many doors of a "Howard The Duck" reboot, or just attaching him with the "Guardians of The Galaxy". After all as I said, Disney owns both Marvel and Lucas Films.
supamariosoniku Theres rumors that he will make an appearance in the Dr strange film. The dr strange film seems perfect for him.
Jessica Heller: I haven't heard of those rumors, but frankly i wouldn't doubt it. Also i added you to my circle, i was wondering if you could review my music.
supamariosoniku oh ok, I'll check it out. thank you.
Well Howard the Duck appeared in his own movie from the 80’s and now he appeared modern day marvel movies like Guardians of the galaxy!
That guy behind lucas just makes me laugh🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂
needs all deadpool....im serious, put it in POOL-O-VISION or something. hat would be awesome!
I agree to that Howard the Duck needs a second chance to be made into a movie. Howard can kick major ass while making insults and jokes in a very douchbaggery way like Tony Stark/Iron Man. Never blame the character for his own movie. Blame the source, blame Lucas. If Guardians of the Galaxy happens to be very successful because of Rocket Raccoon, then immediately green light a Howard the Duck movie or involve him first as a supporting character in an Avenger film alongside the likes of Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk. Imagine the humor between Howard and Iron Man. I know Howard only does quack fuu but in the Lego Marvel game he had like some time of gun like a radiation gun, cool! Anyways I started hating on Lucas once he had to mess up on and putting in nonsensical stuff in the original Star Wars film, 're editing them and releasing it on Blue Ray. I still have the original copies on V.H.S. but I'm afraid to watch and enjoy them because they can ware down. If anyone knows if there is a way to convert the V.H.S. to DVD in pristine order that would be great!.
It's a shame too, Howard had a /really/ good comic run, then Lucas ruined it completely. And I think they should ease into it. They should make a movie about Machine Man then do a Marvel Zombies run, if that gets popular then they can give Howard his own movie.
After having seen the Guardians of The Galaxy yesterday, reading your comment is a serendipitous lot of fun!
Don't worry Joey, Lucas has retired from Lucasfilm and sold his company to Disney as i'm sure now that Lucas is no longer in charge, we will someday have the original unscrewed with versions of the classic SW trilogy on blu-ray remastered in 4K.
I agree Howard can be successful in Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Joey Gill, there's a DVD version of the film, I found it one time but never bought it.
I think if there was a second movie it should be animated because howard like lot of cartoon characters they don't work in a live action setting plus animation can give the characters more freedom.
If they do make a special edition blu ray, they should loads of extras on it such as a commentary, a 2 hour retrospective doc, a doc about the comic book, deleted scenes and all that good stuff.
The extras on the last DVD were fine, but it would be nice to see more people be interviewed. Tim Robbins and George Lucas would be impossible though.
I would absolutely love a blueray of this movie actually...
I would SO be willing to help make a remake of Howard the Duck.
I saw it when I was older, like 15. and I think Star Wars is great
We need a Howard the Duck reboot!
Being serious, it'd be nice if Howard could get a reboot/new film, if not in theaters, at least a 2D animated direct-to-dvd film. He may be one of the most neglected Marvel characters... also, he could appear in EMH.
It was a surprise to hear Howard talk. Previously, he had only quacked in these shorts.
That reminds me, we need a "Robot Chicken Marvel" special, Disney...
Gold
true true i liked how marvel zombies had so many heroes in it
I really didn't need that image in my head...
I loved Marvel back when Stan the Man still wrote monthly editorials, there were chances to win a "No Prize", and their best and brightest included Howard the Duck, Hulk, Dr Strange, Silver Surfer, Conan, and Spidey. Nuff said.
Next you're gonna tell me there's a Star Wars Christmas Special.
i likes this
