    I bought the Tripd backpack because I like to hike when I can. The tiny one I'm going to buy for trips to the park to put jackets and plenty of water for my grandchildren when I'm out there visiting. It would be easy to put in my EDC bag. Thanks, Eunice!

      I sometimes bring both of those bags with me. And of course, if you watched my videos you know that I use them as packing cubes inside my luggage so that way they’re not taking up dead space and they’re being useful while I’m traveling and on my destination and that way I can throw all my dirty clothes into it if I need to and just carry it on my back or throw it into cargo😊💕

    Rolling Underseater is my fav because most versatile mainly because it rolls, has trolley sleeve, fits under seat and because I can’t carry too much weight on my back. I’ve had my carry on checked and my personal item was difficult to carry around at larger airports when changing gates or terminals.it’s a rolling back pack but more stylish.

      I purchased the Rolling Underseater in Cranberry from your link on Amazon. It is really perfect . It fits perfectly with trolley sleeve on top of my larger 20 inch carry on. I like the section that opens up fully for some cloths,the other section fits my 16inch HP lap top and there are many pockets on exterior and the side fits either a small umbrella or small water bottle. The roll with hidden extension handle will be good when running for connections with nothing on my back . I’m confident it will fit under the seat in front if I’m
      forced to check my carry on. The dimensions are like a personal carry on item with the handle you can carry like a purse .The exterior looks water resistant and it came in many other colors.

    On my last trip, I used a bag similar to the 4th one you featured. It was fine since it was in my checked bag but it had a bit of a weight to it (every ounce counts...haha!) so I wasn't as pleased with it. I do like the features of the Tripped daypack so I might get one of those if the price is right. For my edc, I always bring a Shupatto folding duffle. It's a Japanese brand and what I love about it is that it folds very easily and is ridiculously small but incredibly durable.

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  Год назад +3

      That is happening more and more frequently as people don’t want to pay for luggage to be checked so they’re trying to pack carry-on only. There’s only so much overhead bin space and unfortunately some people don’t listen and put two things up there and take up space for someone else. That’s why I always bring some sort of bag with me so that I can at least take out a couple of things from my roller bag and put them into a cloth bag that will fit in the overhead bin space or underneath the seat in front of me.😊

    The rolling underseater is definitely something I will consider. I always check in my carry-on suitcase, (because nowadays really everybody tries to max out their carry-on luggage). So if I have to run to catch my connection I won't have to do so with my laptop on my shoulder....

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  Год назад +1

      Generally, I put my laptop in my Rolling suitcase because of its weight and that way if they say to me that they need to check my luggage, I’ll just open up that bag and take my laptop out and put it in a little carry bag that I always have with me or open up that small Backpack and put it in there. Even though they have no overhead space for luggage, they will always have room for at least a laptop or something to sit up there on top of other luggage.

    Thx for another great video on travel bags! Some bags that I have bought in the past and still use did not have a trolley sleeve on them. So I added it. I took knit or stretchy material and cut a wide band and used fabric glue to secure it to the bag. The first one that I altered was not wide enough but did last for years so I now make the bands wide enough and stretchy enough to last a long time. The glue really does hold it very well. I bought a Baggallini fold up bag 15 years ago and wish they’d bring it back. It’s square with handles. Zips up. The material is heavy duty. Carries the same amount as my carryon. It folds into a book size and fits into its own bag. I bring it in my carryon and when flying home I can stuff it with dirty laundry and check it. Keeping my souvenirs with me in my wheeled carryon. Most bags like it I see these days carry less and or don’t fold up as well or don’t seem as sturdy.

    Foldable backpacks - something else I shall be considering, thank you. Lack of chest straps can be overcome -, buy webbing dog collars in two or three sizes, make sure they have a metal buckle or d rings - these can be placed round the straps to pull them across the chest. Sewing them on means it won't be lost but that could hamper the folding, so keep it loose, tuck it in last before zipping up. Or put a split ring on the zip runner and attach the collar with a karabiner clip. - this also makes a wrist loop bif needed. The beige roller bag - what make is it, please? That, with an over-handle bag, may help with heaving it all on and off public transport instead of having all the weight in one roller case.. I go to stay with children by public transport and they meet me - putting one big case in the back of their car often means it is competing for space with the grandchild's folded pushchair. I hadn't thought about dividing everything into two a roller case and a bag A smaller case may be easier to stow on buses and trains, with the over bag on my lap. I'm getting really practicable ideas from you, Thank you. E❤

    Which do you like better, the rolling under seat bag in this video or the Samsonite carry-on spinner bag? I bought the Samsonite and took it on my last trip. It didn’t work as well as thought it would. I’m think of sending it back. Would appreciate your opinion. Tfs

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  Год назад

      I love that you ask that question because I took both of them out and tried them and they have their pros and cons.
      Samsonite pros: it has 360° rolling wheels which means I can push it or pull it through the airport easily
      Samsonite cons: it’s probably the biggest under cedar you can get, which means it will not fit under every single airline seat . What makes this one bigger which is the wonderful wheels is also what makes it harder to fit underneath the seat in front of you. so for this bag, if you really wanted to take it, you could put it in the overhead bin and carry a smaller personal item bag to put underneath the seat in front of you. That being said, if I’m going to put something in the overhead bin, I might as well put the largest thing I could put in there, which is not going to be the Samsonite.
      The Kroser pros: is slightly smaller in all dimensions. It has more pockets for organization.
      The Koser cons: it does not have 360° spinning wheels so you can’t just easily push it around the airport and have it just roll with you anywhere but that’s also what helps make it smaller. Although this looks like a backpack, it is not a backpack so you will have to carry it by the handles kind of like a tote, but that is the same with the Samsonite as well.
      I’m still looking for a nice rolling backpack, but all of them that I have found would probably not fit underneath the seat in front of you.
      I hope that helps and I’ll probably do a separate video on that very soon just so I can show the differences😊

    This is a timely video, as I’ve been looking for a bag on wheels that I can use for work as well as travel. I work at different sites and am finding a backpack is just too heavy for what I need to bring. That rolling bag is cute, and will fit nicely on a luggage handle. I couldn’t find the specs on Amazon’s listing. Don’t have the dimensions and weight? I’m also considering an underseater with spinner wheels.
    Thanks for another great video!

      Thank you so much and yeah, I was surprised that this did not have the weight and dimensions in the specs on Amazon, I have not waited or measured it but I did compare it in size to my Samsonite spinner and it is smaller and all dimensions and part of that is because it doesn’t have the large spinner wheels. And that is the one thing I do love about my Samsonite is the large spinner wheels because it allows me to push or pull the through the airport easily.. although those large spinner wheels do make it harder to fit underneath the seat in front of you and means that a spinner wheel bag will be tough to get under the seat in front of you and then you have no place for your feet. so it’s a trade-off what you’d like to have regarding size and dimension. Koser is slightly smaller, but again, if you need to get your feet underneath the seat in front of you, you’re going to have to put that in the overhead bin.😊

      @@TheoryofSimple I found the dimensions on my laptop! Interesting that what we see on our phone is different than what we can see on a laptop. Your roller bag is 12 x 7 x 16, 3.63 lbs. It's just what I was looking for!

    This brand may not be your style, but I enjoy simplicity in bags and less of a sporty vibe. Flip and Tumble is a local Berkeley design company that have some great bags, backpacks, etc that fold into themselves. I bring them (the 24-7 bag and the backpack) for when I want to grocery shop or if I want to daytrip without having to use my bulkier carryon/personal bag. Nice strong materials too. Sorry, no trolley straps!
    If I go on a long trip and I have souveniers bigger than I can pack, I will ship them home.

      Thank you so much for sharing that! I’m always looking for a new local/small business to support so I’ll have to look them up! I have shipped things back before, but usually the shipping cost more than the actual souvenir so if I can bring it back on my own, that’s what I’d rather do😊

    I'm going to Greece this spring. I am taking a carry on and a personal item. I am bringing gifts for people and also want to bring souvenirs back. Which us the best way to do that?

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  9 месяцев назад +1

      Wow! First, you need to prioritize. If you want to bring gifts to and souvenirs back, you need to reduce the clothing, shoes and toiletries you bring. Plan on doing wash on the go to reduce clothing, reduce shoes…they take up a lot of space! Reduce toiletries… and minimize makeup! 😊💕

    • @maryallr

      @@maryallr yes going carry-on only means you really have to think about everything being versatile and you can’t bring something that you think you might use or that you’re only only going to wear once or twice😊

    How are you able to bring another bag back when you are only allowed personal item and a carry on?

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  11 месяцев назад

      Great question and if I end up having to open up this extra bag to bring with me, then I would have to check a bag on my way back. Of course if you don’t want to check a bag, then you’ll probably just have to ship whatever extra things you have back to your home.😊
