    There are still families without a roof or a safe home to overcome another hurricane. The government of PR doesn’t help at all.

      I am so sorry for that and to ear that.. Im from The Azores, islands off the coast of PORTUGAL and i too deeply felt your pain as a country and as an island marginalized by those in positions of power! You guys needed and STILL NEED aid, as it is very hard to rebuild in the smaller and poorer communities. I guess alot of puerto ricans are moving to mailand US?! We know, had this happenned in NYC or CALI, the outcome of support would have been different.
      Blessings to you guys. I hope one day, to visit PUERTO RICO

    I just watched the Netflix documentary on After Maria. I was disappointed in the amount of suffering there was, I thought there would be more Puerto Rican people suffering, it just seemed like a bunch of free loaders looking for more hand outs

  • @Rojass91
    @Rojass91 5 лет назад +1

    I live in Miami and know a lot of Puerto Ricans, some of them share the idea that if it wasnt by the US they will be poorer than Haity. Yes, thats right even puerto ricans acknowledge this reality, the good thing is that they are allied with the US if they were allied to Cuba or Venezuela the whole island will starve to death.

    • @guajon1
      @guajon1 5 лет назад +2

      No, not all puertorricans acknowledge that only the colonized minded with inferiority complex or the lazy ones who want to receive everything free from government and who believe the lies the politicians in Puerto Rico tell them .

    • @radrook4481
      @radrook4481 5 лет назад +2

      I don't see any Caribbean islands totally depopulated because people have starved to death because they are not closely associated with the United States. Have Cubans starved to death? Have Dominicans starved to death? I see those islands populated by millions of people. So how is it that the only island that all the people would starve to death is Puerto Rico? That's what you probably tell your kids as well-right?

    • @Rojass91
      @Rojass91 5 лет назад

      @@radrook4481 Probably I exaggerated a little bit with the exception of Venezuela. But dont get it wrong, people living in those islands are living a miserable life, Im from Cuba and I know for a fact.

      The word “allied” is been used incorrectly here. Since PR is a US territory there’s no such categorization. Is like saying Texas and California are not allies of The U.S.

  • @Jowen19831

    I glad the old man has a new roof, but because it’s not made of concrete it will blow off again, the bridge looks fantastic except for it’s design will not hold up to another hurricane of equal power. Why was the hospital not equipped with backup generators, to save the life of the dialysis man? Why was a local emergency system not in place for locals to respond appropriately? The deaths are a failure of local government not federal. Puerto Rico vote competent people, not grandstanders. As expressed none of your problems are being fixed, your house will fail again your roads, bridges, emergency response, your water. Your state needs special designed homes, and infrastructure and it’s being ignored, but that again is a state problem not federal.

    • @Joshua79C
      @Joshua79C 5 лет назад

      While the supports are to stay the bridge is just a Bailey Bridge, a military design and time tested and easily rapidly deployed in a day for use that same day.

    • @Jowen19831

      Joshua79C C a Bailey bridge you are correct. What exactly is your point?

    its sad, but maam what are you doing to help fix it beside blaming nature on president and doing nothing but sitting around waiting for others to help. NOTHING.

      Lissette Rodriguez he filed bankruptcy. It was his legal right to do so.

      Monster 50 only an ignorant person would say people who lost lives homes family members haven't lived the same for a year would say they want free money they want what is to get back to a normal way of life because in the end believe it or not puerto rico is part of the U.S. and have every right to ask help by us Americans

    Why don’t you become a state instead of mooching off the US as a territory. We sent 300,000 tons of aid and where did it go?

  • @mayram-haspil4897

    Trump looked bad from day 1 cz he showed up way past the Hurricaine. Any other President wud have JUMPED on an airplane to PR n showed face! It was an insult to all the Puerto Ricans n Americans on the mainland. To then make comments about only 16 deaths on the island was an insult to injury. One Hurricaine does NOT compare to another. This WAS Puerto Rico's Katrina. Lotst of lives were loss due to the devadtation n those left behind suffered of many other causes. The held up of many necessities shipped to the island sitting like ducks put many at higher risks w/o food, water, medicine, electricity, etc, etc., etc. Sadly, the impact of the aftermath are STILL being felt in many remote parts of the PR. Pa' Lante' Puerto Rico!!! Dios aprieta pero no ahorca!!!

    • @saso4958
      @saso4958 5 лет назад +2

      Matt you are ignorant, they build their homes out of concrete there. I've done construction down there, where as in the mainland your stick build sheetrock walls wouldn't withstand a category 4

    • @Joshua79C
      @Joshua79C 5 лет назад

      Someone has no clue what painted or rusted sheet metal looks like, nothing is resistant to natural or man made disasters, I have seen steel frame in all their supposed strength get blown over from even class 2 storms. Even ICF homes that were covered with timbers got their roof removed and the belongings inside were tossed about or sucked out and tossed a distance, and brick in which this includes concrete block structures gets knocked down or even tossed about due to still improper construction.
