- How magnetic stripe readers work. These cards and the readers / writers are found on credit cards, store loyalty cards, train tickets, hotels and more. Great revision video for IGCSE ICT, GCSE Computer Science or ICT A Level Courses.

Great Explanation 👌
Magnetic card stripes, such as those found on credit cards or key cards, do not create electricity themselves using electromagnetic induction. Instead, they store data magnetically that can be read by a card reader.
The magnetic stripe on the card contains tiny magnetic particles that can be magnetized in different orientations to represent binary data (0s and 1s). When the card is swiped through a magnetic card reader, the reader's magnetic head detects the changes in magnetic field strength caused by these magnetized particles. The reader then converts this information into electrical signals that represent the stored data.
So, rather than creating electricity through electromagnetic induction, magnetic card stripes use magnetic storage technology to store and transmit data.
if track 2 only has room for 40 characters and each character responds in binary how would it convert to a 20 hexadecimal long account number? thank you for the wonderful video, i am just curious
Can you explain how the magnetic chip works, where you just have to tap the card?
Thank you!!
Why these days cashier do not use the magnatic swipe? They use NFC instead. Is it possible to clone a back up of my credit card and use the chip instead of magnetic?
Yes 🎉😂😢😮😊❤
Bro do hard work I am with you❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!!!! :-) :-)
I have a question, If i get a magnetic card reader can i use it to change the data on a magnetic card? For example im trying to find a way to "hack" an arcade card to get free credits would It be possible? (And no they don't use a data bank It only uses the data on the card)
might be quite a late reply but yes! id suggest something such as a deftun MSR605X to read and re write your mag strip on the card
@@user-up4gj7po3e thank you
Imma be honest I was high and just figured “hey Why dont I figure out how this shit works”
🤣🤣🤣
GREAT VIDEO
