These very simple seeming videos backed by the amazing musical prowess were instrumental in getting PTX an online following that really led to their breakthrough as a world class group. From an amateur musician's standpoint I watch in awe the way they do twenty and more pieces of music of different styles, ranges, keys, dynamics, and flawlessly transition from one to another to another each in a single beat. It would have been impressive if they'd edited these videos together but doing them in a single take literally blows my head off even after a decade of amazing music from them. Even in these early days you see the fanatical attention to detail and dedication to perfection. And to top it all off these are just genuinely sweet humans who love what they are doing and the people they do it with.

Thought I would let you know their first Christmas song was just released on the Pentatonix Channel. It is called 'The Prayer' & some of the reaction channels are already on it.
If you really want to do an early dive, you should check out their time on the sing off. It was an A cappella singing competition they won, I believe in 2010. They’re super young but so talented. Its the reason Kevin and avi are in the group. The trio(Scott, Mitch and Kristen) grew up together and wanted to do the competition but they needed 5 to audition. They found avi through a friend(i think?) and found Kevin off RUclips. He actually plays the cello and beatboxes.

I love this medley, though I always kinda wish they'd cut out a song or two in the 2000s/2010s and add in a couple 13th-15th century songs in order to make the move across time a little more even. I mean, we start with the 11th century, then we jump a good 500 years, then another 300 years. (I'd originally said 200, but then I noticed they changed from naming the century to saying "1800's", which is the 19th century.)
