    Aloha from Hawai'i! I have made baskets and find so much joy in curating food items in a container! I am starting out as a small business in gifts, gift sets and gift basket making. I am passionate about sharing what I do, and I'm hoping to gain momentum for the holiday season and beyond! 🤗. I love the item you put into yours! Thank you for sharing!

      Thank you! I have made baskets with packaged (or boxed) cookies, crackers, snack items, and added a mug with cocoa packets. I wish we had more shelf stable cheeses and sausages, though.

    After my grandmother passed away I started making the Easter baskets for my niece and nephew. It was so much fun. I also made a Christmas basket for my sister and her husband. I bought the wicker basket from the Thrift store. I have thought about doing this for a living. I will keep this video.

    Hi, when would you suggest buying wholesale? Also how would I go about finding wholesale companies that would sell to me? Where do you get your baskets and plates from??
    More videos on making different gift baskets would be great! Really thinking about starting this as a side hussle..all tips and suggestions welcome and appreciated. ☺️

      I would wait until one year of proven track record sales before making the assessment if you are moving enough volume to purchase in wholesale volumes. Many distribution companies require high minimum orders.
      You will have to search on Google in your area for wholesale food distributors.
      When first starting use the dollar tree and discount stores to find baskets and plates. Thrift stores often have many baskets.

    Thank you for such genuine down to earth info. I'm starting this holiday season and so nervous. Thanks for the marketing tips. Your store is so cute. Do you guys wholesale your products? Or can you suggest wholesalers for gift basket makers? Thank you 🙏🏽

      Thank you for the compliments! We do not do any wholesaling. If you are just starting off I wouldn't recommend ordering from a wholesaler as you will have to bring in alot of inventory for them to even consider you. Honestly for your first few baskets just use your standard grocery stores and pick them items as you need them.

    Hi, loved the basket. But does products in basket to be glued? Will the items put in baskets move or hold tight after shrink bag is wrapped tightly with hotgun? Or if its required to be glued to each other and to basket, If it has to be shipped to different city?

    • @lifeasiknowit89
      @lifeasiknowit89  11 месяцев назад

      If everything is stable nothing needs to be glued. The shrink bag will hold everything in place as long as it's tightly sealed with a heatgun.

    Where do you get all the supplies? Like from a regular store or you have a supplier

    • @lifeasiknowit89
      @lifeasiknowit89  8 месяцев назад

      Hey so we get most of our supplies from our own store regarding the food. The "hardware" for the basket is from a supplier called Uline.

    Beautiful but how do you go about transportation and tax?

    • @lifeasiknowit89
      @lifeasiknowit89  9 месяцев назад

      Transportation- if you offer delivery you will most likely be doing the delivery yourself for awhile. We charge an added fee based on distance from our store.
      Tax- it depends on your country and area. Honestly if you are just starting out as a side hustle you won't be charging tax to the customer. Just make sure you incorporate the tax on the items you purchased for the basket in your markup of the basket price so you still make a profit.

    Don't have heatgun, can use hair dryer or not?

    • @lifeasiknowit89

      You can. We did for the first two years, it just takes a bit longer.

    How can you legally resell all of these items? Many companies don't allow resale of their food products especially due to liability. How do you address that?

    • @lifeasiknowit89
      @lifeasiknowit89  7 месяцев назад +2

      For our particular situation we have a store so we are a registered business with a food licence.
      For someone just making baskets from home. You would need a business license and to check with your local health board.
      I have not seen any laws about reselling items except "store branded" ex. Walmart's "Great Value" brand . Which wouldn't look good in a basket anyway.
      However, it is best to check with your local regulations before proceeding.

    Do you think that choosing only one type of gifts is important or you can make many different kinds and still succeed?❤

    • @lifeasiknowit89
      @lifeasiknowit89  16 дней назад +1

      Hmmm good question. To be honest with you can definitely offer different themes of baskets. I strongly suggest you start with one for the first while and let the customers know you will eventually offer different varieties in the future. The most popular theme is charcuterie right now.
