  • Quick video today showing off my latest arcade pickup for my home arcade collection is for a used Silver Strike Bowling I snagged off OfferUp in my local area. This unit came out sometime between 2014-2017 (I think) from Incredible Technologies and has the Silver Strike Bowling and Silver Strike Live capabilities included. Let's go over the condition, what needs fixed, and if this was a good idea to buy this for my arcade collection!

Silver Strike Bowling is the best. I found a hardware package on ebay for $400 then built a cabinet based on the arcade 1up Golden Tee Deluxe cab. This is so much fun. Nice pickup. Good family game to play.

I picked up a used Golden Tee pc, io, and the cid board. I installed mine into a microcenter pedestal/fight stick kit with a trackball spot. Total "hack job" but I got everything for cheap. I also reached out to IT to be able to upgrade to the latest golden tee... I eventually got a power putt IO/CID as well which is easy to swap with the machine powered off. Just recently got the guts for SSB but have yet to give it a try.
P.S. I highly recommend getting a sata ssd and clone the drive that's in it! Stuff does load a little faster but I say do it mostly because it's just a matter of time before the old HDD dies and it not like these games do a ton of disk writing.

Great price for a Silver Strike Live. I believe there are some board upgrade options that will allow you to add Golden Tee Live, as well.

My 2007 silver strike bowlers club cabinet was downgraded to 2004 silver strike bowling just for Vegas bowling. I picked it up last year as an empty cabinet but the bezel and monitor were missing. The plastic bezel covers the monitor as well as the speaker grills and Marquee as one plastic piece. Had to fabricate a speaker grill, Marquee and bezel in order to fit the 27 lg monitor. As for the hardware it's really unique and expensive. The I/O board that connects to the trackball has a special chip made specifically for your version of the game and it has to match the hard drive. If not, error codes left and right. The dongle above the I/O board is the cabinet identification device usually labeled like cid then followed by a number. It tells the PC this cabinet is a silver strike cabinet. I found this out the hard way by using a online hard drive in my case silver strike 2007 software on a cid 17 chip which is for offline use. Corrupted cid 17 and had to pay $150 for a new cid. Overall it gets the most use out 9:30 of all my games in the family.

I am definitely a silver strike fan. I purchased the guts (no cabinet) about three weeks ago. It was a total rats nest of cables, wires, circuit boards, etc. I was very fortunate that the only problem was a faulty computer case fan of which I had one and I have the mess of wires up and running and it works perfectly. My next move is to build a cabinet. I am hoping you would share a few measurements with me from your cab. I need a measurement (inches) of the control panel and the height of the control panel in front and rear from the floor (to determine angel of slope. I hope to wind up with something as nice as yours. Thanks in advance if you can help.

@@PDubsArcadeLoft I have bought 2 and eventually it may start being finicky to boot and take several attempts etc.. this will mean the mobo needs replaced soon. I am good friends with 2 large operators and they say after so many hours all these IT PC motherboards start to act up. Its extremely expensive to replace that mobo. If this starts to happen to you and it starts periodically acting up… you should consider selling it while its still working…. Just my personal experiences. Good luck on them. The main unit is basically an off the shelf PC since they introduce their nighthawk system (like 2007-ish iirc, I know golden tee fore complete was the last golden tee to be its own board). Though you do need their IO board (where the buttons/trackball plug into) with a special chip and a certain CID board for it to actually run the games otherwise it errors out. Like, you can't just swap the HDD/SSD out from SSB with Golden Tee and expect it to work because it will refuse to load the game. You have to also swap the chip on the IO board and the cid. Honestly easier to just get another IO board for easier swapping or a thing called a magic switcher.
