Fun fact: the pulsing synth noise you hear at the begining is the radio signal from CP-1919 - the first ever pulsar (a kind of rotating neutron star) observed by astronomers - converted into sound. it’s a funny thing, i never had liked this album in high school (released at the end of my junior year when i was just getting into AM) but now that i’m out of college i can safely say it is easily my favorite album by the band- and this is my favorite song from that album! i love it! just had to age gracefully into it haha

I'm on my yt Arctic Monkeys tour. I came here from listening to Brianstorm. How they evolved musically always blows my mind. And I'm so grateful for this journey, love every piece from them, from Alex alone and The Last Shadow Puppets project with Miles. I'm with them since the very beginning and always will be.

I'll never cease to be amazed by the ability of these guys to completely swap styles and reinvent themselves in each album. Tranquility Base is far away from the band's first album, but it proves how far they've come.

Fun fact: The subway/underground station AT is walking through is the Marienplatz station in downtown Munich, Germany.
This video expresses exactly what Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino was described as. A flight at 70's with a pinch of science fiction. The extra actors seems like they are building the Hotel like the engineers build a spaceship in a instalation base. Alex walks around the facility seeing his project geting complete. The air is pure of a 70's sci-fi movie, just like sounds the entire album, which is pretty in my opinion.

It's been 5 years since the release, and it was an odd and kind of an underrated era of Arctic Monkeys.
If I had an hotel I would play this album in the elevator, lobby, basically everywhere
If I had a house I would play this when people came over, and pretend not to hear it.
Tranquillity Bass Hotel & Casino really shows how established this band is artistically. It makes me sad how underrated this album is because it is truly a masterpiece.

to me the new album was just a too sudden change into a completely different sound, since most of the previous albums have had similar style and sound, so i didn’t like the album at all at first but after a few listens it’s starting to grow on me

ALEXZERO you need extremely delicate(yet accurate) microphones pointed at space to hear cosmic bodies actually produce sounds. I believe they aren’t microphones like we generally know them, they read the energy that they produce and “read” a sound out of the energy.
“Little Green Men-1” was suspected to have been produced from an extraterrestrial source trying to communicate to us but we later learned that it was a rapidly rotating neuron star producing electromagnetic radiation. I haven't seen anyone in these comments talk about it, the scenes with the orange walls are shot in the Marienplatz subway station in Munich. It is one of the most important stations, at peak 24000 people switch trains per hour. It was built from 1966-1971 so the style perfectly suits the song.

You might like a band called The Doublejumps if you like this. They're from New Zealand and have really great songs
there are two alex. one is older and looks to a futuristic hotel and the other is younger and looks to an older architectural model. you can see them both in the last shots, the younger is singing while the older is in the background at the controls.
