This is the continuation to the 5th part of this series focusing on 8 Ways to Record Drums in Cakewalk by Bandlab. Part Six will focus on using samples to record or program drums. Stay tuned . In what ways do you use the step sequencer? Let me know in the comments.
I did not use the sequencer yet. Only the SI drums and now the SSD5 drums. Pretty good. Would be nice to have a bit in depth about the go to for a professionala drum track via midi.. how close can one get to the real ones and what tools are best to realise this? ( velocity, timing ghost notes) thanks for sharing this series 👍
@@MrHhkrohn I believe that you can come pretty close to a realistic sound especially using great drum samples. I think of the step sequencer as a tool to help you achieve a fundamental drum beat. It will not 100 percent sound like a real drum performance but with the right eq, dynamics, etc it can fool you. My favorite is using drum set to record into Cakewalk. Then you have a real drum performance and you can simply apply live drum samples.
@@balorprice Balor thank you for watching. Yes I hope to do more like this. I still will create longer content. I believe this is easier to digest. Thank you for the comment I’m glad it helps.
man this was super helpful! precise and to the point, thank you I'm new to the step sequencer still but I just wanted to add an idea I try. I'll add the default/built in grooves but alter them, go in and edit and adjust using their outline. I have found it helpful at times but mostly love just buillding from scratch
Great info! I need to get good at the cakewalk sequencer. I wish there was an Alesis MMT-8 plugin. I'm good with that. I suppose could just do my ideas on the Alesis and dump the midi from that into cakewalk?
Thanks. Yeah you could dump the midi but I believe it’s must easier to do it in the daw. Once you have a template setup then you can pull it up every time you work on new project it will be setup and ready to go. I loved that Alesia though. It’s actually how I learned how to play piano looking at the event list. Use whatever works best for you. If you need help please reach out. All the best!
This might not be even read by you, but after finding your channel the most comprehensive regarding Cakewalk, could you make a video on how to use the AKAI Fire as a physical interface for the sequencer? Appreciated!
I actually do read all the comments even though sometimes I don't get to respond as quick as I'd like. I can look into making a video on that. Thanks for the idea!

Nice! I like the format better - covering just one thing quickly, I still learnt a lot
