Out of my 15 M1 helmets and of the 6 ww2 M1's I've got I've only got one Schlueter. Interesting story with that is it's and rear seam swivel bale so I thought it was a post war helmet but I could never find the heat stamp then one day I decided to take it out and look at it and I found the heat stamp about 2 inches to the right of where it is usually and I nearly had a heart attack when I first saw it. I've been wanting a Schlueter for a little bit now and I don't see to many helmets around where I live so it was extremely happy to see that.
Heat stamps can be in weird places sometimes. I think I have close to 20 Schlueters now. That's great that you got one for your collection. Hopefully you add more in the future.
The Lizard King I just think it's good to put that out there. I don't understand why some guys feel that have to hide that info. I guess they are afraid someone might tell them they over paid for something. That's part of collecting sometimes you get deals, sometimes you pay fair value for something and at times you may end up paying more than the actual value. Sometimes we as collectors have to pay up for items that we really want. Especially if it is rare, uncommon or hard to find.
I recently won a Schlueter with a McCord on ebay for about 51 bucks, just shells. My first ever Schlueter, has some hefty dents at the crown where you'd expect to see them, but what I found kind of cute about it was that on the inside of the shell you can sort of see an 'S' shape where the dents were deepest, how about that? Thanks for sharing your collection :) Making me want to keep a closer eye on my local antiques stores!
Thanks for commenting. All Schlueters have the letter S. Sometimes they are hard to see because either they were painted over or they have faded over time.
@@JonBoyMilitaria oh yes, the stamp is quite visible and I got very lucky with a nice heatstamp, I was referring to the happenstance dents on the top, where the shell collides with the ground when dropped and such

I just found out I have a front seam swivel bale Schlueter helmet marked 4 A on top which was above the front brim and at the front brim is a big letter S. So what do you think what I have? Would love to know.
