I'm 73 and live in SW Alabama. I have driven (car) and ridden (motorcycle) the trace many times over the years, and hope to take one last bike ride from Nashville to Natchez this spring. You and your wife did a fantastic job on this video. It is one of the most complete videos I have ever watched dealing with the Trace. I have gotten old, and at some point in time my family is going to take the keys to my motorcycle away, so I am going to spend the next few years seeing as much of the beautiful South East that I can. Thanks for the video, and safe travels. Quick edit... I subscribed and I am going to use a lot of your video's for my travel over the next few years. Thanks for the suggestions.

I’m so glad you liked it! Yes. You need to get out there and enjoy it while you can. I actually use my channel as motivation to keep getting outside and doing things. I’m hoping to do a couple more Alabama road trips this year.

I traveled the entire Trace last year and hit every single stop, and stayed at each campground along the way. 5 days in total, and the only thing I regret is that I didn't give it more time as there were a handful of hiking spots I didn't have time for.
Next year I'm planning to do the same on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I'm not sure I'll stop at every overlook there as 200+ is a bit much. But we'll see!!

I live alongside the Trace so you passed within 1/8 mile of my house between British West Florida and Boyd Site. I'm a history buff and you mention Spanish Moss. The French and the Spanish explored this area at the same time. The Spanish referred to that moss as French Wig due to the wigs which were popular in France at the time, and the French referred to it as Spanish Beard. And factually, it is not moss at all.

That's great. Thanks for the info on the "Spanish Moss" that isn't! Very interesting. 👍
