If there’s anyone I trust to follow a recipe it you Val and I’m going to follow this recipe for Christmas pies. Thank you once again for sharing ❤ God Bless and Merry Christmas to your Family from ours. 🌲🎅🌲🎄
Girl, I needed you today and you came through, I’ve had a stressful day and it was so relaxing to hear and watch you. Thanks for sharing another great recipe.❤️
I just recently found your channel and I REALLY want to try this. I don't have a food processor and it's too late to ask for one for Christmas! Thank you for this video and God bless you and your family. I'm looking forward to more home cooking videos.
I'm going to give this a whirl! In the past, I have not been super successful with pie crust, but with Val as my guide, I'm sure to have a better outcome!🤞 My hubby will be so happy too. He loves it when I tell him I'm doing a Val recipe, especiallyif its a pie!❤ Merry Christmas! Thanks for sharing!
Good morning! Thanks for the simple pie crust recipe. My wife and I both love to cook from scratch. We also have a Ninja food processor. When I was a kid growing up, Mamaw would take the pie crust that she trimmed off and cut into pieces and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Then she would bake the pieces for a treat for us kids. Yum Yum!!!
Thanks for sharing that memory, my mom did that too. I think she actually made an extra single crust to do so; there were 5 of us. She rolled out the crust into a rectangle, then spread with softened butter, sprinkled cinnamon and sugar, then rolled it up from the long side, then sliced into half to 3/4" pieces and baked. We called them puppy dog tails.
The cinnamon sugar crust is really good while it's still warm with a glass of milk or a cup of coffee. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! God bless you and your family.
Hey Val, I have a food processor someplace in our new home! I need to find it! I think anything homemade is so much better. Speaking of better, hope Sweet Hunter is feeding a little better. ❤🎄
I'm so glad you love homemade things. It does make a big difference. You will find your food processor. We love it. And Sweet Hunter is still needing prayers. Thank you for asking! 😊
When I was a little girl my Mom worked midnight shift in the Lewis pie factory making pies. She could make the most flaky delicious pie crust. She could decorate them so pretty using a knife. We had an apple tree and she would make apple pies. She would make them ready to go in the oven but she didn’t bake them. She would wrap them and freeze them. On a cold snowy night in January. She would take one of those pies out of the freezer and bake it. The pie was so warm and comforting. Thank you for bring this memory to my mind. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Yummy! I am not a good pastry girl. It tastes ok but man it's so not pretty...well it's a mess to be honest. ..lol ...but we eat it. This looks great Val. I will have to try it. Thanks again for all you do. I have picked up so many great recipes and tips. The recipes you make from scratch are my favorite ones. Merry Christmas and God bless you and your family from Ontario Canada. 🎄🎁 🦃 🙏 🥧 🕊️
Thanks so much. I have always struggled with making a pie crust. I usually buy them but now they ate getting ridiculously expensive. I can't wait to try this. I don't have a food processor so I'll try with a mixer. Thanks so much. Merry Christmas to you and your family. 🎄🎄😊
That looks so easy! I'll have to try it! Where did you get your fancy cling wrap container? I have so much trouble using that stuff. It just wants to cling to itself!
I just recently bought cling wrap at Walmart that came in a box with the cutter. It is so easy to use! It’s the Great Value Slide Cutter Plastic Wrap-400 SqFt for about $6.

My mom did that for us too. I get inventive with my extras, little bread sticks are good to fit anywhere. Just keep an eye and take them out early.

A pastry cutter works real good and cheap at the dollar store.
I was going to say the very same thing William said. I think that would be better than a mixer. Thanks for watching.
Thank-you. Merry Christmas ❣️
You’re welcome! Merry Christmas to you, too!
