Unfortunately there are wind sensors on and around the castle and the Drones have to be cancelled if they can't guarantee they'll be able to hold their position and stay within the safety zone. Disney Dreams (the fireworks show) only came back for the 30th anniversary because people begged for it, but they're about to switch back to Illuminations - which is more colourful and uses more effects and fireworks. However, just have to keep in mind DL Paris is restricted (noise/disturbance) on using those really big, dramatic fireworks like in Florida - they're only permitted to use those at a few special events during the year.
I find it so strange when people go to the Florida parks, spending a small fortune with tickets, hotels, food and merch, dealing with the ever changing Florida weather, constantly dealing with rides breaking down and long cues for basically anything. And when they go to the Parks that are not in the US, suddenly they then start to complain about the prices, the weather, the cues.
In case anyone is interested
1) Prices, for hotel, food, snacks and merch, in general, prices are a fair bit lower in the Disneyland Paris than they are for the US Parks.
2) The time it takes to buy a snack, unless the creator is giving you full context of the dates of their visit, is not very relevant
The US Parks during Spring Break are hell on earth when it comes to lines for food, snacks and rides, even moving around is difficult. But then you go in February and the crowds are more reasonable.
So it goes for Paris, depending on the time of the year, lines will be more or less intense.
3) The time for the drone show to start, in general in the US dinner time is, on average, at around 6 pm, obviously this can differ depending the State or the Household, time of the year and so on.
In France the average dinner time is at around 9 pm, obviously this can differ depending the city or the Household, time of the year and so on.
When calculating the time for a show, organisers take into consideration the season, daylight, but also local practices.
If people normally have dinner at 8-9 and then to have the drone show at 11pm is reasonable, earlier, it might interfere with their meal.
Also, in general during the summer months, in Paris, by 10 pm is often still light out, obviously on rainy days, like the one they experienced, that changes due to the, you know, clouds, but on a regular day by 10pm would be too early, due to the sunset times, for a drone show, which pops much more against a pitch black dark sky.
4) As for the gaps in the fireworks, I mean obviously there were gaps, it is a drone show, and due to the weather they couldn’t risk putting the drones up, they can’t just randomly add fireworks to the moments where there would be the drone show, so the gaps are obvious, and given the weather during the day, and checking the forecast online, most people would have assumed the drone show would be canceled and planed accordingly.
I think in general the issue is that these guys weren’t going on a trip to enjoy French culture, and Disneyland Paris itself, they were trying to make a low budget version of a Walt Disney World Park trip.
Ps: Happily Ever After was Inspired by Disney Dreams, which was a Disneyland Paris show, so there is plenty of emotion in Disneyland Paris, you just need to plan accordingly, pick the best time of the year to go and make room for the occasional rainy day.
Great vlog! There’s a lot of renovation been going on there which is a shame….and you’ll always contend with Paris weather 🙃 didn’t know they had the turkey legs there! Not sure they did when we last went. I’m with you on the fireworks. Unfortunately WDW sets your standards very, very high….😩 And the weather does play a massive part and Paris is different anyway all round. Ah guys……😞 Xxxx
Construction is a shame during a visit, but it's also a good thing - especially in the Studios park, because we certainly know this resort hasn't had much love (or money) from Disney until recent years to get some work done...
Thank you ☺️. Yes sad times but exciting things are coming to the parks so sadly have to deal with the construction in order to get them.
Yes they have turkey legs now - they were pretty good!
Yes sadly WDW has set the bar high, still lovely to watch obviously (they are Disney fireworks ☺️). It was still an amazing day of course as we were in Disney. Thanks for watching 🥰
