    Thank you very much for the video. works like a dream and saved me from expensive repair. I followed the exact procedure and all went good. I tried the Opcom 2008 and went through all the process. However, i had problem with resetting the instrument cluster. Finally, upgraded the software to Vauxcom and managed to finish it. Hi everybody. I had a same situation today. Replaced the ECU (Engine computer Module) on an Opel Combo 1.7 diesel. I managed to program everything as per video, the immobiliser light stop flashing, all DTCs were gone and when I tried to start the car everything was died. No crank, no start. I thought that the battery was very low, boosted the battery and nothing changed. I'll give it another go tomorrow and hope it will work. I thought to share my experience here. Great job Luis, helped a lot. keep it up and thank you for sharing.

    Thank you for taking the time to do this vid. I have replaced the abs module/pump on my Corsa D VXR with a second hand ABS unit as the original ABS unit was non repairable. The second hand unit has been tested and comes with a warranty. The ABS that has been replaced requires programming. The part numbers on both ABS units are compatible and I will be using an OPCOM to program. The issue is i have never programed an ABS unit. Do you have a video on how to program or instructions on how to do this? Any information will be appreciated.

    Hiya another great video fella. I am not sure I can keep up with the fast movement of your screen changes. I would have to watch the video many times which I can do. As you have been helping me with my grandaughters Agila Im going to say I took the fuel tank out of the vehicle and pressure tested the pump off the vehicle. it showed it as before at 7psi running it directly from the battery which I had taken off the car. i initially saw it pump fuid from where it should and although it worked it seemed weak so then the pressure tester was fitted with the earlier. result. I had wached a video of some guy breaking a fuel pump apart and illustrating all the other parts within the fuel pump assembly. namely filter pressure regulater and realised i should have bought the whole assembly and not just the pump. A costly mistake have a new assembly coming sometime tomorrow. I am not sure it will work in the car due to possible ECU control issues so I am going to test it off the car again tomorrow, before putting it back. This is due to the fact that since I changed the engine I have not heard the initial 3 second prime. I would be interested in your view. many thanks for all your producing for interested guys who love cars and electronic control cheers colin

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs 7 лет назад

      colin Lyne
      I don't think you will have any issues with the control side of things...
      The ecu only controls a relay, which in turns runs the fuel sender pump...
      Until now everything points to a bad pump...
      Also check that the relay is good...
      Bear in mind that just because you can hear it clicking, does not mean is good...

      lmsvvavr I have 2 v1.45, v1.64 and v1.69. None of them will read or reset the pin on Corsa C. Only the 1.39 could do that. I have tons of bricked opcom interfaces which I want to learn how to revive. They are all recognised by the laptop, drivers install but pretty much nothing else. The repair opcom tool doesn't work either. Which software version will work on v1.45 to read pin on Corsa C? Thanks in advance.

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs 6 лет назад +2

      Hi
      As far as is from a similar car, should work, even if the numbers are different... as sometimes different numbers only mean that the hardware and or software has been revised, but the functions of the ecu remain the same...
      However, if you can get hold of one with the same numbers, the better....
      Hope that helps.

      I see. Well ,I believe the replacement was from Meriva and my car is Zafira. The immo sequence went alright and the car started, unfortunatelly there were 3 errors: two with the fan and one with the AC. They were present but not functioning. Ac wasn't functioning and the radiator fan didn't start. Is there any way to reprogram the ecu or it is too complicate ? Thank you very much for replying! The guy who did the immo did not programm the VIN. Could that be the issue?

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs 6 лет назад +1

      Have you checked the configurations?
      If you can configure things in there, then is because that ecu does not have those functions...
      Check configurations and go from there...

    • @EliseiDesign
      @EliseiDesign 6 лет назад +1

      The AC was present in the configurations, still, didn't work. The guy who did the reprogramming made all the necessary steps and after that he said I should have bought the same serial number ecu because the software is different. We finally opened the faulty ecu which already was repaired 3 times and there was a loose wire. Now he will remove all the wires and weld new ones to make sure it lasts longer not just one month as it did now. Only one side, as the other one seems to be in order and not touched. Thanks again and take care!

    Some days it’s starts up perfect other days it’s a bugger to start (won’t turn over) but starts eventually.
    After driving for a bit it loses speed and cuts out plus It hardly makes it up the hills, sometimes it won’t make it up the hill.
    Tonight they was driving home (about 10 miles drive) and the car just completely stopped and wouldn’t start at all so they call recovery.

I bought a reset ECU with the same part no as the original (12237450 DXKB) from ebay. When following your instructions opcom connected to the ecu and stated it was a 12245500 FAHX for a Z16SE engine and that it had been reflashed previously. Do you know how to get it back to a 12237450 DXKB for the Z14XE with opcom or other tool? Also as it programmed to the car ok is there any risk in starting the engine with it thinking its a Z16SE?

      That's weird.... to flash it back you need other type of tools... not opcom...
      Do not know even if the engine will start... as some wires might connect to different pins on the ecu... also the mix air/fuel wouldn't be correct...don't really know... I never tried...

However the software flashed to it to support a specific engine is different and some are saying that the part number on the sticker can be different to whats flashed. In my case the stickers on the original one on the car matches what opcom reports and is what I purchased from ebay (they are quite rare). I think it has clearly been changed to the z16se version as opcom reports the repair shop and programming date have been set. Some are saying that tech2 can reflash this back to the version that will support the z14xe. Unfortunately I don't have access to that in Swansea, not sure who does and what it will cost (trying to do this on the cheap). I think my only option is to return it as I don't think the ebay seller realised this as it was advertised for the corsa which I don't think had a 1.6 engine? Also since I bought this I missed an entire set of ecu, immo ring, cluster, immo chip, auto cu which stated it was off a 1.4 Corsa auto and £20 cheaper than what I paid just for the ecu ... grrr! There is a 2 year story behind this but I think it proves that not many garages (been to at least 3!) are able to diag and fix these sorts of issues. So finding a skilled auto electrician, electronics repair expert and computer specialist like yourself is essential and very difficult! Thanks once again.

      @robthomas7232 6 лет назад

      OK took the gamble and tried to start it. It didn't want to start but you could hear it trying to catch and eventually did with a bit of accelerator pedal but then cut out when the pedal was released.
      An unidentified error came up which I'll post the code to later (on a different laptop). The code and cutting out maybe down to the wrong engine type being on the ecu .... or a hardware issue with the ecu or something else. I would have been surprised if the right ecu would have fixed everything.
      I guess the good news is though that as I'd removed the fuel pump relay link (bodge) the engine clearly got fuel which means the fuel pump relay was activated and the pump working. This was one of the things pointing at a failing ECU amongst other things.
      So I will chase the ebayer later although not sure how much more effort I'm going to put into this as the timing for further fix attempts is limited and its causing family issues now ;-)

    Reason I'm asking is I have had the lamba sensor replaced but the engine management light stays on even though the error codes have been reset, the cables have been tested and seam to be ok so the next thing is the ECM that needs reset or replaced which looks simple by your video.

    In my car, a Peugeot 407 hdi 136hp, last year, I changed keys and door-locks, in the authorized dealer.
    The PIN number I was given for the new keys, is different from the old one of course.
    Right now, I managed to read my EEPROM, and saw that the original PIN was still there. The same one. Now, what have they done?
    Did they changed the PIN only in the BSI?
    And if there are two different PINs, how can that be?
    Does the PIN in BSI take precedence over the PIN in the EEPROM?
    My ECU is Siemens SID 803.

      Hi
      I needs to be only 1 pin...
      If at the dealer they have changed locks and keys, was no need to change remotes... have they?
      Even if the remotes were changed, they would have been programmed to the BSI using the actual car pin code...
      Unless they have a
      also changed the BSI... even in that case, the new BSI would be programmed using the original pin...
      So, you can't have two different pins for the same car...
      What you might have been given, is the mechanical key number... that is a unique number that can be used to cut the key even if you don't have a key to copy from...
      Unless there is some info missing here...

      My case is going to be a mystery, until I solve it.
      Last year, somebody got into my house and stole me. He also took away the two keys of my car. One with remote control and a simple one. So I took the car to the dealer with a transporter truck, and ask him to change the door-locks and the keys, just in case the burglar finds my car parked in the street and takes it away with the original keys. I tell you, that they changed the mechanism in the wheel column where the key enters and the door-lock plus the glove box lock and gave me new remote and simple key. They did not change the BSI.
      Now, my original keys, they have a card with the key code YU4V, which is the same with the PIN code my EEPROM has (I read the EEPROM with Galletto). It is located in the hex places: 22, 23, 24, 25. My new keys have a card with a new number: WXWB

      I don't know why they would give you another code... I mean, they could have reset the ECUS to change the original pin... Although does not make sense that the code you have retrieved is different..
      Do you have PP2000?

      Well, I spent all my afternoon in my car with Diagbox, making various tests, and I think I solved the mystery. There is an option in Diagbox: REPAIR-->BSI-->PACK REPAIR-->REPLACEMENT PARTS (Or LEARNING, I forgot)-->CHECK OF THE CODED ENGINE IMMOBILISER CODE IN THE BSI, which accepted my original PIN, the YU4V. It seems that the new one, is about the key and how to cut new keys if they are lost, just as you mentioned dear friend. Once again you were very accurate and informed. How can I thank you. You are always right. Thank you for your time. Be happy!

      Thanks for the reply, I hope it doesn’t come to that.
      I changed a head gasket and timing chain on a Corsa D 1.2 56 plate. Now I’ve got p0036, p0141 & p0304 sensor 2 and misfire pot 4.
      I’ve got compression and fuel just no spark.
      Taking (left pin coil pack from gearbox view) 1- 0v 2-12v. 3-6 pots 1-4 going pin 1-6 I don’t get same reading as 1-3,4,5 so if these are correct pin outs it could be coil pack but seem too much of a coincidence to me... all plugs are in and engine does run with misfire, I thought I was gentle with the cables too, ordered op-com should arrive by Friday. Love to hear your thoughts 👍

      Just check, double check, and triple check everything... it is easy to sometimes miss things... get some diagrams... it is a bit confusing the way you explain the pin out...
      Then check primary ignition signal... if is there, and you have no secondary ingnition, then is your coil pack...
      Hope that helps

      Using the OPCOM software you can find out ... but in order to can have available program options on OPCOM you will need to have your 4 number car security options (just with this number you can have the need available options in the OPCOM menu other way you can't do it) ... also this security number is important for the audio system (this is already set by the producer but if you make changes on the audio system you will need to set again) ... and like a recommendation is better to AVOID take out the + terminal of the car battery more than 10 minutes (most of the cars have already a lot of electronics and if you take out the battery for more than 10 minutes it can happen to need reprogramming some electronic car parts and will be not so easy for sure) and BE CAREFUL with OPCOM programming if you don't know exactly what you are doing in order to eliminate possible troubles made by your self (air bag outset, blocking engine start , lock doors ...). OPCOM is very useful software that can be used just for diagnostics (if you don't have the need knowledge's please do not use programming). All the best ...
