I just put a 12" Alpine type R w/ 1000w amp in my C5 too using the same amazon box. It will fit, just barely. the C5 is the ONLY car I've ever seen, where it looks like chevy designed the trunk for a flush mount sub!
I upgraded to the pioneer double din and just replaced the 4 Bose speakers with the JBLs, don’t need a Subwoofer and definitely doesn’t need any amp, the Bose amps are plenty, you already can’t talk while the stereo volume is just a little past 22 which I believe is a little over half way, I’m from the 70s and I love my Rock loud, the Bose setup is plenty with the JBLs
Good stuff man, I just added a pair of JBL GX302 3-1/2" 2-Ways in place of the factory tweeters in the doors of my 2000 FRC and they are a nice super budget upgrade over the muddy stock stuff. Simple install too, there's a video on here about it, but flip the connectors to retain polarity and the correct spade size. For some reason the stockers use a smaller spade for positive and the JBLs is larger.
@@C5Zach Yeah, people don't do much good work anymore. They mostly just have their jobs and don't care. Somebody proudly just threw it together to get it out of the door
Previous owners ex- girlfriend took a Louis ville slugger to rear glass. Possibly.. put a Kenwood dbl din head in mine with focal components in front doors, kicker coaxial in b pillars with alpine 12" sub and alpine 5 channel amp. It rocks, target top off and all. 🏁⚜️🇺🇸
Lol. I'm using Zero gauge to. Total overkill. But I got a good deal on a 4F cap and amp kit so I said F it. I had such a rough time with grounds when I 1st did my install. I used the seat bolt like some folks said. Yeah no. That was a bad idea. Ended up running my ground to the ground near the seatbelt. I'm about to redo my wiring though. My cap basically under the halo and my targa is starting to leak. Also replacing the oem radio bracket. Had to hack mine up before finally getting a Vettenuts bezel

Nice!! I didn’t realize how badass of a sub it is. Pretty nice for a prebuilt setup. They sure did haha it’s pretty cool!

Why was the seat bolt a bad idea?
@@HollowPo1ntz It couldn't get a stable ground from it. My amp kept cutting out. I moved the ground to a better location. Haven't had an issue since
@@retrobear9367 thanks for the response. I’m about to install my amp and sub tonight so I appreciate your answer.
I need up going with the ground point by the driver seatbelt. Very easily hidden. I didn't want to drive through the tub like some do.
I need this!
