We actually pronounce them with an ‘o’ sound - scollops. Love my city and enjoyed your video.

Oh how interesting, thank you. We couldn’t remember whether it’s the ‘o’ or ‘a’ for Australians. It feels like everyone we’ve spoken to pronounces them differently! 😅
And thank you so much, Hobart is incredible! 💙

Great video guys, I've bookmarked the places highlighted in your videos when I visit Tasmania in a couple of months. Just to point out @12:58 the date of the the Tasman Bridge collapse was a bit off, it was in 1975.

There is a sculpture at Montagu Bay (not far from the Rosny Hill lookout) that shows the part of the bridge that collapsed. And even now, when a large ship goes under the bridge, they stop any traffic from going over the bridge until the ship is well clear of it.

The reason that most major towns across Australia have a Japanese garden is because of the war. The Japanese apologised for their treatment of Australians in the war by building friendship and sanctuary via peaceful gardens.

Hi guys we just found your channel.
Your filming and editing is sooo good 👍.
We are heading to Tassie in November and just wondering what’s the go with filming there .
Can you can’t you ? Do you need a permit?
    If so how much ?
Or is it all a load of crap ?
You have a channel too and would love to film it but not sure of the rules.
    Cheers Dave and Nik 🇦🇺🍻👍

Hi Dave and Nik! Thank you so much, glad you're enjoying the videos.
How exciting, you'll love your time in Tassie, are you over for long?
I'd recommend double checking with the councils/locations you intend to film at before you head over but we reached out to City of Hobart before filming and they confirmed we wouldn't need a permit. 😊

You only need a permit to film in a National Park in Tasmania. Which is disgraceful. Tas Parks and Wildlife do not even have a 'small production' permit which means you have to have the same permit as a commercial film if you want to film in a national park. This rules out Cradle Mountain, Freycinet and any other place that is deemed 'controlled by Parks'. Tas Parks and Wildlife really need to move into the 20th century and overhaul their filming permit structures.

@@TrekkerPaul Rubbish. The only restrictions are on commercial operations like film crews etc and that's the same for every Nat Park in Aus. Go to a Nat Park and just about every single person will be taking photos and videos. You really think park rangers are going to be chasing some RUclipsrs with a selfie stick? lol.

@@shegocrazy yes, they are. Please see the videos of Tasmanian RUclipsr Rob Parsons. He monetised his channel and was taken to court due to profiting on NATIONAL Park lands. Rob details the charges and subsequent issues regarding filming in Natuonal Parks or even nature reserves.
