Imagine being alone in Berlin, and find this fucking place by accident!? Holy shit! Found a guy from Cleveland smokin weed too! Went looking for club E-werk, nothing, but a construction site. Ask some young ppl if there’s any good clubs around, 1/8 of a mile, there it is! Like a beacon in the night! Tresor!! They were so nice there too! Omg!
While I think "horrendous" is a bit harsh, I'd agree that this mix is certainly not about about showing off mixing skills. Though you wouldn't expect that particularly from a Juan Atkins set. His skils shine in other areas, one of them being an very good sense of how to create something unique and great. This mix shows that by it's excellent track selection and the way the tracks work in conjuntion, creating an overall mood and feeling. That said, this set is obviously edited, as some parts seem to have been cut out. There are some quite obvious points where one would expect a blending transistion but instead it's one track abprubtly ending into a delay or similar effect and then the next track having noticebly no connection to the previous. So I suppose this set was quite a bit longer originally and there probably is a full take out there somewhere, but I couldn't find that one yet.
He was never a turntablist but you're right, there are some amazing ideas and truly amazing tunes slightly spoiled by sloppy mixing - Also some really really incredible moments as well. The attempts at Dave Clark crossfader cuts are horrible.

I love how the inventor of Techno, in the midst of the popularisation of Techno stays underground as fuck.
It's truly a testament to the man's artistic integrity. He remains such a source of deep inspiration.
He's not the inventor. Rik Davis is the real deal and showed Juan his blueprint for modern techno. Juan is a fraud
if you know you know
Juan Atkins, the inventor of techno.
No, that's Rik Davis
No@@peter3deckwizard
@@peter3deckwizard You are incorrect.
@@white.lodge.dale.cooper Like there was a single inventor of techno lmao.
