If you enjoy black and white westerns a good Bob Steele movie is hard to beat. He was a star of his day, later he played 2nd roles in many westerns of the 50/60/70 era.
All of Bob Steele movies were well done/ he was the biggest western stars of the /30s and 40s/ one of my favaorte western stars/ of all time
Interesting movie from another era.
There were some slaves that preferred to stay on the plantation because they were very well treated. And I think they may have been scared to go outside in the big old world and make their way when they were not prepared for that.
Interesting depiction of Civil War days 70 years after the fact. The slaves don't want to leave when they get freed! :-s
Otherwise, a good Bob Steele western.
It would take the then-new Republic Pictures a few years to gain its footing. This was a good early effort.
