I read a book, I think BY Bruce Marchiano. When he was trying to decide how to act the part of Jesus, and he found a verse maybe Hebrews 1:9, it said Jesus was anointed with joy, quoting Psalm 45:7.

Thank you so much for this film on how the conversation may have gone on between the two disciples and Jesus on the rosd to Emmaus. Certainly brought non-stop tears to my eyes because it serves as a good reminder how merciful God is and how undeserving I am! I still can't imagine till today how God can be so merciful to me and wash all my sins away....Thank you Jesus! Here in Malaysia we are still blessed to practice our faith freely but we don't know how long that would be in this predominantly Muslim nation as we are livin in some serious end times right now. Please pray for Malaysia that Jesus stands tall in this nation of ours to help us overcome all odds and challenges!

regretly many believers, self claimed followers of Jesus and now days ( as then in old days of ancient few true faithfuls did love Jesus/God by living thru a life of trials ) do not true or really love Jesus or His Good Righteous Ways . Jesus is Discipline . He loves discipline - God gave * good laws of Him God . Love for God's Son is to love and respect His birth in humility. The world .. and world are humanity, religious leaders,priests, pastors, or any one person ( of whatever belief) too many times say : Lord have mercy on me , Lord have mercy on us or Lord have mercy on the world ... but how many times or how often people give any thought of how merciful are to Jesus * how often in now days of time do anyone* take up* Christ's + lite yoke ,burdens in their hearts ,there not many that give up worldly possessions or strip themselves of love for God even thru Christ who give their last coin for one of God's meek faithfuls ?

I love how Jesus was depicted here! Bruce Marciano's portrayal reminded me of how loving, joy-filled, down-to-earth and patient our Savior is. One of my favorite stories from the Gospels is the Emmaus story. I've always Imagined Jesus wearing a slight smile as He explained scriptures to the two men. Also the men's' looks of surprise and delight as they realized Who they were walking and talking with. I'm saving this video to my "good movies" watch list. ❤
BTW - Another loving, realistic and reverent portrayal of Jesus (and His disciples) is the series, "The Chosen", directed by Dallas Jenkins.

But He did not die on Friday; He died on Wednesday. He Himself said He would be 3 days and 3 nights in the earth. Wednesday is the only day that fits. There were 2 Sabbaths that week. The day after Passover is a High Sabboth.
Jesus had to be buried by 6 pm. The women could not buy or prepare the spices until Friday. They could not go to the tomb on Saturday (2nd Sabbath). That's why they didn't go until Sunday, and Jesus had risen by then.
It's okay, don't strain a nat and swallow a camel. Instead rejoice in the message of our Savior and His love, mercy and grace. I'm sure which day He died and rose is not an important issue with God. It is the message that God loves us and wants us to love Him back that is important to Him. Peace. MARANATHA !!!

Very emotional presentation when you put yourself into their shoes. It's a pity about the Friday death mentions near the beginning (which is mathematically impossible if Yeshua didn't falsely prophecy - and He didn't), but overall very well done! HalleluYah, because the Messiah has risen!

Why were the two on their way to Emmaus? Did they go to an inn when they got there? It seems that they invited Jesus to stay for a meal at their house.
If the two were going home, then wouldn't it make more sense if they were man and wife? Why do people always assume that the two disciples were both men?
Mary was at the cross two days earlier and she was the wife of Cleopas. Itsn't it pretty obvious then who the two on the road to Emmaus were?

Agree with you fully. Firstly, Luke does not say that two men were walking on the road to Emmaus. It says one was named Cleopas. However, from other Gospels we know that Mary the wife of Cleopas was another disciple and was present at the crucifixion. Makes far more sense for Cleopas to be walking home to Emmaus with his wife.
Wrong. You can't get three days and three nights in the grave between Friday p.m. and Sunday a.m. That is a misinterpretation of most Bible teachers. He was crucified on Tuesday, the 14th of the month (Passover), then was in the grave that evening (the beginning of the 15th, the High Sabbath of the Feast of Unleavened Bread) (Biblical/Hebrew days begin and end at sunset), all that day, then Thursday night, then all day Friday, Friday night, Saturday (the weekly Sabbath) during the day, then resurrected Saturday before sunset--a total of three nights and three days in the grave, exactly as Jesus predicted (Matthew 12:40). Other than that, a good little film.
