- I know, it's another gay couple. I swear it's not on purpose. I don't see gender, I see chemistry and these two are just so intense. Sucked me right in from the start. Even if I don't really understand their bizarre need to slap each other around, must be a guy thing. :D
The song is "No Light, No Light" by Florence and the Machine, I thought it was perfect for them :)
One more thing I don't actually get about this show. It's historically accurate as far as I understand, but they have out and proud gay men at court? Cross-dressing gay men? Either we took a HUGE step backward when it comes to gay rights OR Philippe only gets away with it because he is the King's brother. I wonder which it is.
Phillipe would have had to do whatever Louis said anyway.
I believe Philippe only got away with it, because he was the king's brother and the king allowed it or shall I say made an exception for his brother. Though, I think Philippe paid dearly for it in that he had to do whatever his brother told him to do or he'd lose his freedom to be gay and more importantly Lorraine, whom he had an on again off again relationship with for fifty years up until Philippe's death.
