Survival of the fittest, sylvan library & hardened scales. You and your content is amazing 5/5, don't u let anyone ever try and make you think differently.
Sylvan Library, Oath of Druids, Dryad of the Elysian Grove, Wilderness Reclamation, Tribute to the World Tree, the green Leyline, some green enchant land ramp card/mana fixer. I can't see the new leyline being in the top 10 already.
Correction on carpet of flowers: the card has been errata'd to state "At the beginning of each of your main phases, if you haven’t added mana with this ability this turn, you may add X mana of any one color, where X is the number of Islands target opponent controls.", so you can only add the mana once per turn, but you can choose which main phase to add the mana.
@@jeremyphillips3087 Semi. Since they relabeled the Post Combat Phase to Second Main Phase it would trigger Carpet a second time. So yeah to make it where it doesnt trigger twice and you end up with a extra 4 or 6 mana on a turn.
Right? It's funny, cause it seems like as a 1g it would have been a balanced but very usable card with some applications here and there. As it stands, it's incredibly powerful at that rate, and considered almost broken. Not on that "2 card combo" level, but just SO much value for a single green. Something to consider, different colors have mana available at different rates... So a Green 2 mana card is maybe as easy to cast as a blue or white 1 mana card, if that makes sense.
I have to ask because I've been a fan of the channel for a little over a year now: What is it about River Hoopoe that you love so much? Don't get me wrong, I had a lot of fun with it in Amonket/Hour Limited, but I'm just curious why it seems to be your favorite!
Rancor holds a special place in my heart for being all around perfect. It's an aura that solves the weakness of the card type, gives a valuable keyword to creatures in its color identity and even some attack to make use of it all without being too oppressive or bloated. Not to mention the fantastic name, art and flavour.
Classic card. I appreciate that while green might not draw a lot (at least at the time) Mirri's Guile allowed me to dig a bit and optimize my limited draws.
Are there enough playables for a Top 10 Colorless Enchantments? Or are we gonna have to get THAT granular about it and count enchantments that become colorless like Ixalan flip lands or cards with devoid?
I think "Top 10 Non-Artifact Non-Creature Non-land Colorless Cards" is already a overly narrow list. Once MH3 and its new additions has had some time to shine it would be a good topic though.
It's been good in other formats -- Goblin Food Chain was a pretty big thing in legacy about 15 years back, but it hasn't done near enough to make this list.
Oath of Druids, Sylvan Library, Up the Beanstalk, Survival of the Fittest, Hardened Scales, I'm not sure what else. Maybe Wild Growth or Utopia Sprawl, Destiny Spinner or Rancor would sneak in.
Carpet of flowers has been erattaed to say "if you haven't added mana with this ability this turn" so now its less powerful than how it was originally worded.
I honestly really thought that Oath of Druids would be #1, I mean come on, it has plenty of Vintage points! Maybe not "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)" points, but still.
If I had a nickel for each 1G enchantment from Exodus banned in Legacy, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that there are two of them.
15:38 Woah, hold up a minute, you don't get Carpet mana EACH main phase, it's each main phase in which you haven't used it yet! Not quite THAT OP, still a powerhouse!
Well it makes sense. What is the most played color in magic? Blue, why? Cause it can control the game with Counter Spells and load your hand with draw card so you have options. Any blue hate is going to be powerful considering again that blue is the most played color in magic.
Sylvan Library is such a bizarre design but I love it. And if you play it against me in Commander, you'd better not be a coward and draw both cards. Pay the life!
Surprised I'd never even heard of the cards at number 1. And I thought the one that lets you untap a land for every creature you play would have gotten on here based on Elf power alone.
@@gabbathehut3235 played a lot of modern on MTGO back in the 2011-2013 range. Never ran into them, but maybe the needed set for Choke hadn't been released there yet.
Does Dryad of the ilysion Grove let you play additional non basic lands too? Because that would greatly help out my gate deck because unless I have a gond gate all my lands are tapped when coming into play.
Ngl the time change is a bummer for me personally because watching the vids with my morning coffee was a nice little routine I had going, but if it's better for the channel I guess I'll have to suck it up. That said, calling survival for top1
Yeah the fact that Survival is on the verge of NOT making top 10 should tell you just how busted Green Enchantments are. Considering I know Sylvan Library and Oath will likely be top 5 if not the top 2 tells you how bonkers Green is for enchantments. Also the fact that Rancor, a COMMON, makes the top 10 best Green Enchantments proves the point.
So, that's the kind of card that would make one of my "Most Overpowered" Lists, but it just can't compete when looking at competitive data. It is no doubt powerful, and had to be banned once upon a time because it was part of so many good two-card combos. Also, it's not banned in Vintage and no one plays it, and many think it would be fine to unban in Legacy. Most think the only reason it remains banned there is because it's on the reserved list.
@@NizzahonMagic That's fair and it did get banned so fast that we never got to see it much. People saw Squirrel Nest and that was it but it does so much more LOL. Ah well I have my one for Commander and I swear it's on par with Gaea's Cradle in my elf ball deck it's bonkers :)

It's absolutely brilliant how survival of the fittest and recurring nightmare tell an entire story with card names alone
Liking the card transitions 👌
Oath of Nissa being banned anywhere for any amount of time is a wild thought to me. It seems so tame.
