Our hero Dimash sings in 15 different languages, speaks fluent in about 3 and is still learning English, but does well. He plays 7 instruments and has an octave reach of 7.5 with 3 semitones .
Not a boy band there, what you see are the 500 judges in the audience, and those others are the following contestants. LOL, I wouldn't want to follow Dimash. what an epic cover of the song.

When they arranged this song Dimash said that he wanted to portray that love isn't always a whisper. One of my favorites......Pete from Dallas
Another great reaction. Dimash's rendition of Lionel Richie’s "Hello" was a guest performance on "I am a Singer 2018"; he was not competing that year. At the end of the second verse, Dimash sang "I love you" in Mandarin ("Wo ai ni") to the Chinese audience, and again in the third verse, adding "I love you" in Kazakh, before whispering "Thank you" in Mandarin at the end.
Dimash beautifully incorporates Middle Eastern (Armenian, Turkish, Arabic, Azerbaijanian, Kazakh) runs in the song. His friend, Erlan Bekchurin, did the musical arrangement for this performance, as well as most of his other arrangements. The flute is called a sybyzgy, a traditional Kazakh flute, and precursor to the modern flutes. This is my favorite rendition of the song; even better than the original in my humble opinion.

Dimash did an unbelievably phenomenal, captivating job performing this song; it’s just too bad Lionel Richie forbade him from performing it again. I personally think Richie should be proud of Dimash singing it as was Dolly Parton with Whitney Houston singing I’ll Always Love You. ❤

The flute called Sybyzgy - made of reeds or wood 50-70 cm with 3-7 holes, which is particularly common in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The instrument was particularly popular with shepherds and was used by storytellers. They went across the country and told stories and legends in chants and with music (Kui).
There are many legends and traditions associated with sybyzgy. In these legends the instrument is called a "living reed", because this strong, hollow stem, makes amazingly deep sounds.
The whole life of Kazakhs is imbued with music, it sounds in ceremonies and rituals, in everyday life and at holidays. Listening to the sounds of dombra, kobyz or sybyzgy, one can understand the history and culture of the Kazakh people.
It was easy and fast to make a sybyzgy, but it was very difficult to play it. Sybyzgy kuis (Kui: sung stories) were most two-voice melodies: the first voice came from the instrument and the second voice was the throat singing of the musician-performer.(www)

This is from the contest "Singer" from China in 2018 that made him a mega star in Ch9na in 2017 when he first was in it! ! More about that contest down low. The group you wounder about is the rock group "Lions" and was also contests in 2017 when Dimash was there the first time! They become friends and have sung togheter at conserts after that. He also have sung with both Terry Lin and Tia that also was in the contest. Dimash is a muslim and they juse this sort of singing you wounder about.
He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500.
Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside).
They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night.
Dimash got many new friends from this show and he said at some point he learned a lot from it to.

The best moment in this show was just after Dimash started thanking everyone and saw his father there. He didn’t know he was there. Just after they got out of that room Dimash turns to his father and asks if he did good! Gloria Wu's channel has the back-story about the song that is so sad and from a life story about a boy losing his parents in an awful way. Also you get to hear how Dimash sounds like then loosing his voice the day of the show!!! When he went on he didn’t know if he could sing. Looking close at the other contestants they where so worried about him. He lost his voice again after. Li Jian another contestant bought him a very very expensive Chinese medication for him so he could get better soon!

Episode 10 : 'Unforgettable Day' In Kazakh and I think some translation in Chinese to. If I remember correct he wrote the music to this one when he was 19 years old and lyrics by Oral-kosai Baisengir, who was a poet/lyricist father of a friend of Dimash. Also in this show another contestant "Terry Lin" that was about 51 years young here he considered Dimash a dear friend at this point. But Dimash started telling them al he was his father around episode 9 I think!! That is a big respect and love from his part of the world to call him! Terry was gladly accepting it. They are still that close and also invites each other to there concerts and sometimes singing this song in duet to. They sang it in Jackie Chang movie festival in 2019 and Jackie was choked in how good they were. Terry was known as an alien before Dimash and they have similar vocals to.

Well the current number of languages that he has performed songs in is 15. Which is amazing seeing as he only speaks two languages fluently (Kazakh and Russian) and some of two other languages (English and Chinese).
The two guys they showed at the end are individual acts also in the competition, both Chinese artists.
The trills you were talking about are a type of Middle Eastern throat singing sometimes using a yodel technique. They use semitones in that type of thing that we don't use in the West. That's why the sound seems so unique to our ears.

I love how Dimash incorporates traditional instruments and vocal techniques, he weaves in and out of styles and it works so beautifully, he takes you on a journey. The more you listen to him you will realize that he is a fantastic storyteller, he doesn’t rush through the story, his performances are each an experience and quite varied. Anything from the Power Ranger’s theme song for the more recent movie, Across Endless Dimensions from and Italian movie, Creator’s The Past the list just keeps going, and there are several of his own compositions. Dimash puts his own stamp on everything he does, whilst still remaining respectful of the original. I like to think here he's high atop a mountain range somewhere in Kazakhstan calling to his beloved in a far distant valley. 🤣 { If you check out some of his music videos in hs own language / culture the scenery is stunning } Dimash sings in 14 + languages and is fluent in approx 4-5. Here he has learned some Mandarin (like'I Love You } so he can insert some of these phrases for his Chinese audience. At this time Dimash had very little English, but learned the song phonetically.

Dimash was the guest of honor at the final concert of the competition 'The Singer 2018' (Jessie J won). Lionel Richie liked the appearance of Dimash, his son-in-law was in the audience and was filming. I wouldhave liked to see Lionel's face. Those are all the contestants that are backstage not a boy band and one of them is Chen Yu Hua. You should try diving into him next because he will also blow you away he's very talented. I went from Dimash then through his Chinese connection got introduced to Zhou Shen and then Chen Yu Hua. All at one time or another contestants on the Chinese TV show The Singer. All very very talented. ✌❤😎

You guys should really stop spreading false information the way you do. Lionel Richie didn’t ban Dimash from singing his song “Hello” it was most likely his team that did it. Let’s say someone uses Dimash’s “Stranger” for a vocal competition without permission from Dimash or Igor Krutoy. and Yoola or DQTeam takes the rights and bans them from using it. At the end of it, it’s not Dimash’s song and “I Am Singer” didn’t obtain permission to use it in the competition. Lionel and his team were simply protecting their rights and it’s nothing personal towards Dimash. Many artists have to do this unfortunately, but this has nothing to do with jealousy.
Prefer you without the lippy, yes never give up and love Dimash.
