In no way shape or form am I trying to claim that you HAVE to hate these games, you should be able to like what you like and that's great! Games aren't exempt from criticism which is why I shared my opinions with you today.

This is my first ever video I actually put effort into so feedback would be great :D!
edit: Man this has exploded much more than I ever thought it would, guess it's better to explain more things here than I have in the video and description.
I think it's pretty clear I'm not an opinion-messiah if you find these games fun that's completely fine! Everybody is entitled to their opinion and isn't bound by something someone posted on the internet lmao. My main point I made here in this video is to stop feeding the mindset that bad games reward creators because if you have a community that just only focuses and likes games that had no effort or care put into it rather than actual effort is a horrible mindset that shouldn't be pandered to.
I hope this clears up stuff and especially the sentiment that I've been seeing that makes it seem like you "NEED TO HATE ALL SOUL OPS FANGAMES!!!!!" because you really don't.
I think some parts needs to be speed up like you did at 14:17
But something like at 6:50 do need to be speed up or put how many are there, it’s feel unnecessary and a bit boring in my opinion.

@@RevengeEntity For the actual characters you play that is true, however the models in the badge images and the models used for the bosses themselves that you fight in the game, it's quite literally the free model chiknlord synapsed model everyone knows at this point. It was wrong to broadly state that rather than explain it in the video first but I've done so now.

im a retired avenge ops dev and the game used to have better models, i got replaced cuz one of the devs made the game open source and was fired, so my models got stolen and i got replaced by some "modeler" that just used trashy freemodels and stole my designs for avenge fell and outer avenge
extremely late edit: since this comment got alot of attraction, the avenge ops remaster is still wip and testers feedback is mostly "this game is a buggy mess" and "the only good thing about this game is the visuals",
oh and btw they made the avenge fell design worse, the only design that was untouched was outer's
the game was made by farzin even tho foureal created the baseplate, farzin literally stole my models but i forgave him and i became friends with him
farzin did get kicked out of the dev team for no apparent reason besides him stealing scripts and models
atleast the remaster of avenge ops wont be literal dog water as actual devs and talented scripters/builders will be helping

biggest problem that can exist in fangames like these are massive amounts of unbalanced characters and bosses

As a beginner scripter the statement at 15:16 is so true I made a game with waves included that isn't loosely based off of undertale it just shares very similar gameplay with soul ops. It being based off of Roblox lore in order for it to be unique makes nobody notice or care. Yet these free model kits get 100 active players meanwhile mine gets 90 visits it just pisses me off see something so easy to make get 10x more traction then a solo passion project that took months and months make. However my game (Bux-Defenders) is nowhere near perfect its got a few bugs that rarely happen but are very hard to fix and the balancing is rather mediocre at best. Like most soul ops games my friends gave me the same criticism. "The waves are boring but the bosses are fun and interesting" . Without the waves the game would be getting carried simulator and that would make it so much worse.

as the former avenge ops trello manager, i have no idea how it got popular but i guess roblox undertale fans will play anything nowadays
To be honest undertale fake ops was my first soul ops fanmade game i have played, and it's actually better than the original.

It soul ops the multiverse Aus actually used to be very simple and mostly original, but more and more mods/builders. If you get to tier 100 you see why it has a option for asking... I have 20k tiers and am one of the OGs, I miss the old version...

i only play these fangames for the badges, you already know how many they have.
The reason i play soul ops clones is because theres simply nothing left to do in the original. The game pretty much ends after you cap at tier 5, and by then youve already beaten error. The reason that all of the clones are boss rushes is because a majority of the community finds swarm gameplay to be tedious and annoying, the bosses being the main appeal of the game.
I feel like that's the disconnect for me since I think you can't have it both ways, I don't like games that only do bosses and I don't like games where the run time is taken up by waves either, it's hard to nail the middle for these things in my mind.
I thought USSDG did a great job as a soul ops game but sadly the owner is obsessed with remaking his already good game.
Another thing is that I don't really find the games themselves the problem it's just the profit margin these games get that become a problem because a lot of these games simply don't deserve the Robux they make, take the AgentDevilSans guy for example:
he literally brags about his limiteds on his profile that he got by making a messy game that makes the Undertale community look bad.
Obviously though everybody has a different perspective, I respect that.
@@Vivyylet Thats undertstandable, and with what you like, i would recommend Typical Soul Ops. It has both waves and a boss rush, one of the wave AUs being completely original.

I have an idea of a soul ops fangame where you solo to get the full experience with some cutscenes that would look cool thats the soul ops I would make and would be a good one if i can make it but since i suck at my making roblox games and im only 13 years old and didn't get into developing experience I might need tips from devs here
btw the name could be solo ops like dust hp is 4444 and fell only is 1700 and sans only dodges and swap sans has only 2100 hp thats it i want help to actually be able to know how i could make a game
i made 3 sans vs chara in obby creator but idk what i could make in roblox studio.
oh didnt even notice my “fight the insanity ops” was on this, even tho i used all of my own coding ye i can agree it was low effort, i made that during a time i wasnt really available to update it.
someone with lower subscribers then me and has effort put into their video's.. I guess this is an example of what the video's talking about, the high quality games always get overlooked by something with less quality-

There will be a tier limit (Pretty sure 5 or 10 or smth like that.)

A lot of these people are simply passionate about the game, and may have wanted to take a slightly different approach to the game genre. Additionally, these could be projects in order for a developer to progress in their programming journey. These games aren't flat out "horrible", as stating that would be subjective. Games that are loved and hated will exist, and I think it would be best to provide constructive criticism over complete hate to the game's creators.
Though, that is my opinion. You will not have to agree with me.
If a second pin option existed this would be the second pin, I agree with a lot of what your saying and I think I'd better elaborate more about why I made this video.
I feel like I could have been less harsh with what I said in this video, a lot of motivation that came to me for this video was how unfair I thought it was that devs making these quickly thrown together games were getting LOADS of money and much more attention than developers that actually work their heart out and make actual quality games. I shouldn't have let that bother me as much as it did so I do wish I was a lot less harsh sounding here in this video than I was.
I didn't intend to send hate to the creators of these games when establishing this video but if that actually was a result of this video I really do feel bad about that.
Yes! It's subjective whether someone thinks a game is good or bad, I hold nothing against anyone who enjoys these games however I do think that I could have been a lot more constructive than flat out making fun of the games shown in this video. I think for the future I should do a much better job explaining that and getting the point across.
Lastly: It won't always be true that a dev is making a game to get better, some people choose to make games on Roblox studio's engine for the sake of making them because as everyone knows by now, the Roblox studio engine is not hard to use which is what makes free model games easy to throw together with 0 experience and some people do not desire to get better either but obviously that isn't everyone.

A game that is unique but is hard af is UT:Corrupted Defense, like no one plays it but has polish to it
fun fact: I know the modeler of avenge ops 2 so I got early access, and believe me, for no reason they just made the game 100X better. Good on them man.

I feel like I am getting Mandela Effected rn, I remember this one game that was similar to soul ops where instead of protecting souls you have to protect a frisk. You also have can't pick per se, an incredibly powerful character at the beginning you have to wait for the waves to pass by before you can use said powerful characters. I was looking through my old badges but I couldn't find the game I was looking for. Can someone pls tell me the name of the game?

The problem with most soul ops is none of them try something new or make game interesting (plus Very unbalanced gameplay and other thing that remove the fun of the game)

one thing you got wrong. dusted soul ops was one of the best soul op games, it just got hacked by a hacker who then also hacked another good soul ops game.
The sans with 6 souls person in code ops is amusingly bad at beating insanity with an end game character

Believe it or not, I played avenge ops,and the multiversal souls before, and all I can say, Is that they are some of the worst games I've ever played. Like avenge ops I tried playing but every server I entered was broken on wave 11, it made no sense. Then the multiversal souls was just to overwhelming to even play, thanks to 1 million different waves, and way to many events.But moral of the story, I learned how bad they were. The hard way. (Btw it would be cool if you made a video about actually good soul ops clones.)

I Met my friend in this video wow…
Now I have been playing Soul ops before Firewall and hellspawn even existed, but GOLLY these fangames are AWFUL. I feel like no REAL effort was put into it. It's just all copy and paste with a bigger damage script being added onto to that different "Sans" Or "Papyrus". Whichever they choose. Either way, very great video at explaining how most fangames are just lazily made instead of just adding a TOUCH of effort to it.

I don't particularly think hyper LV 99 was HORRIBLE of an au character, I think it more ot less comes down to the fact that it gets so overused in so many games
Granted hyperdust isn't a great au either since it basically has no story, but it is a little interesting, just nothing really there, which isn't exactly horrible, just kinda there
In my opinion unfair ops is the 2nd most trash fan game because your data can get easily wipe and admin abuses and also you get kick for entering a character that you don't have the requirement for instead of getting oof
