L'Italia ringrazia.
It sounded incredible at basically every setting! What a gem
Italians sure know how to make amps! Dave Kilminster uses Brunetti, they sound amazing!
the preamp overall sounds great but the crunch channel with the LP really sounds amazing.
Cool to hear this vintage piece. I love my Mille CR! It’s fantastic.
Anything Brunetti is AWESOME. I have one of their amps and it rocks
I really like their stuff... killer playing as usual.
Sounded really good! I think I like every channel without the bright switch, and all controls around noon.
i had the same but i didn`t like it at all especially the gain channel sounded just mushy to me..now i have a brunetti revo II xl modified by marco brunetti with a lot of extra stuff and this is my go to amp since a decade now, cheers 🦾🎸
Give a Brunetti Mercury el34 a run, i have one and absolutely love the body of tone, incredible company.
Brunetti does so great stuff as BRBS. I own one Brunetti amp and one BRBS. So great amps!
Michael Toren has every preamp under the sun…please give me some Michael
This blue baby sounds very good. Thanks for stuff you do for us 👏👍
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks
@@BigHairyGuitars Always :)
Several keys to making good gear demo videos - one, you must be a good player to start with. But the other is that you have to be able to find where the gear "shines" the best, and play in a way that complements that. Michael, you always do both of those things very well.
Love This Brunetti and BRBS. This preamp is sweet.
Great sounding piece of kit!! Covers a lot of ground!! Cheers!!
Great Tones again Michael
Amazing Preamp!
1000!!!!!!!
The volume knobs being bigger makes it louder right?
I like the "hair" this has on the crunch and lead modes.
Bigger is more bigger! Yeah, it has a distinct thing about it
Thank you Michael, now I miss mine even more!
You and me both! I had to give it back to Toren. I have some pretty good captures for ToneX, so in a pinch, there’s always that
Sounds BIG!! Never heard of Brunetti. Now I want one. Damn you!!
Was selling it in a whole rack and footswitch case for 1000 euros, nobody wanted, have taken down and now i am more glad i did that, it is a fn awesome gear
Yeaaaahhh! Finally there's one in your hands, Michael! I have a Mille "blue" like yours too (maybe the only one here in Brazil, unfortunately?), and it sounds perfect with Peavey 5150 power amp (straight on loop return). I don't know if i prefer it or my Soldano SP-77 MIJ. Could u compare both and say something about it, please?
Kohle loves his Brunetti amp
The Les Paul really brought it to life!!
that was HUGE. Love it
Wow, thus thing sounds flat out amazing. I want one to rack with the MP1. It's nit as good at that middle focused mono sounding guitar as the MP1 is, but it's got every quality the MP1 doesn't have from what I hear. Thanks for sharing, I might just have to get this.
I agree
Some of those tones reminded me of Adrian Smith. The last drop D stuff quite similar to Soundgarden, interesting.
Another great video 🎉 Was wondering Micheal if you have any plans on demo PolyChromeDSP would love to see your take on it.
I have 2 Mercury 100 Watt heads and they are Incredible!
Sounds great. I just ordered a Tonex pedal. I'll probably pick up your profiles for this preamp whenever the Tonex gets here.
What I’ve always wanted my Soldano to sound like In the midrange
Sounds great and has that lovely old school look to it. Just needs an old fashioned VU meter or two to be perfect. A perfect match for my Kemper.
Nice to see Brunetti getting some love. How’s about the old Rocktron piranha preamp???? Any demo’s of that coming???
I think this is Brunetti's take on the X88r, sounds incredible though!
I have one in my rack il love this preamp ❤
JeePerS the neck on that Strat is RIDONKULOUS!!
Hey cool, ! Looks like the one I sold to Mike a year ago !
Great video!
What I don't get though is why most amp videos are closed miced! This is now what YOU hear or what WE NEED to hear. The amp sound in the room.
Thanks, though! :-)
Hi. Thanks. The reason is that the room has SO much effect on the sound, that it will nullify the differences. With largely a room sound, I can make a little Yamaha THR10 sounds as good as a Soldano SLO-100. Also, your room will sound completely different than my room, so any reference or comparison will be broken. The only way to get a feel for the character of an amp is to close mic it. And even then it's helpful to hear it from many different sources (videos) because amps through different cabs can sound drastically different, etc.
Wow, that's a fantastic sounding preamp! ♥
Great demo as always! these are really cheap in Europe, you can pick them up for 300-400 Euro without any problem. Bruno Durand on the old HRI forum used to claim these could be converted to be exactly the same circuit as the CAE 3+ with a few simple mods. I'd love to hear you demo Michael Toren's Sound Clinic Climax S3 preamp if you get a chance. Keep up the good work, love the channel.
Killer tones.
Amazing, when does your album with this preamp out?
Its sounds brutal, and TIGHT...
WOWZA!!! what a beast
Pretty good tone for an espresso maker
😂🤣
Sounds killer, my main amp is a Brunetti Pleximan
I don't know if Mike left the tube set as it was, but I remerber having changed one or two 12AX7 for 12AT7 to make it smoother., it was a bit too "gnarly" to my liking.
I saw Dave Kilminster play 2 Brunetti half-stacks with Roger Waters at an outdoor festival in Oslo 10 years ago and "have a cigar" never sounded that fat!
I saw him recently and he sounded phenomenal
Damn Mike, that was a nice jam you had goin there!!!
That Pre, looks a little FISHY-Lol,,in a Bogner’esq kinda-way?!! However, to my ears, CH 1 & 2 aren’t bad at all… CH 3 is ok-just not for me!!! Either way, you always put out some great content!!!
PS: Do you have any of your own albums out??? I’ve been wondering for quite awhile…
I have the head too. It Is called XL and has similar pre. It Is astonishing as the mille Is
Funny that Mike Toren just released the unboxing of the preamp, nice synchro ! HE confirmed that he kept the tubes I put in it. I'm glad you liked it, killer sound !
So, it was mine ???
Sounds Great!!!!!!! Didnt Brunetti make an amp like 20 years ago that had a ton of tubes in it and it could (by relays) re-route its internal caps and resistors and basically be any iconic amp. Was that Brunettit? The amp dissapeared after a few press releases.
i guess not
The 059 switches between tonestacks but it's not like what you describe. The piratta is straight on with 6L6 and EL34 mixing or another variation which I don't remember. But the one you mention is the budda alex skolnick signature.
I had three Brunetti. The Mille vintage, the blue one and I currently own the Custom which is even more surprising than the blue Mille...
What's the difference between the Custom and the old ones?
@@bluesful Two lead channels instead of one (lead plexi and lead modern).
@@danle3181 thanks mate. Which one do you prefer?
@@bluesful Modern
@@danle3181 do you prefer the current version over the old Blue vintage version?
Ya man, sounds beefy...great demo Mike
I definitely hear the Demeter TGP-3 in there! They both have this "searing" quality to the mids that is in the Marshall ballpark but unique (Marshall to me is more like "slice," not as fat). Cool preamp
Well I don't remember about Demeter but the mille and the CAE are close. It can sound a lot like my old triaxis as well. Which is not as close as a circuit.
@@81giorikas I immediately was reminded of the CAE when I heard this video. I wonder how close the circuit is.
@@brpadington Well Brunetti and CAE both use pretty much the same topology last time I checked. Now as far as power amps go I can't tell, CAE amps have a lot of adjustment especially like the NFB pot allowing it to go from tight controlled to vintage loose. But to be honest I plugged my brunetti to a vintage cab and it was similar to the JCM 800 I had lying around in the crunch, not what you hear here. Then I switched to my brunetti 4x12 and it was exactly what you hear here or better with a huge bass punch, whereas the JCM 800 wasn't (plugged into the same cab). What I am trying to say is that especially in high volume the power amp/cab is very dominant. I have other amps and compared preamps that are totally different through the soldano power amp (which is dead on JCM 800 with 6L6s and big transformers) and they all sounded very very close. So it is what it is.
From the schematics I remember the CAE and Brunetti Mille having the same topology with huge bass caps after the first gain stage. Whereas a marshall is much, much more lean in that particular spot. They lacked the cold clipping distortion generation soldano trick which mesa stole between the third and forth stage (well soldano was inspired by the 100watt 2203 marshall who had a big resistor there but less gain stages and soldano took it to the edge).
Awesome!
I like it!
Nice one
That's one of those pieces of gear that can sound great in one guitarists hands but I would have such a hard time with.
Try their 059 (original red one).
Kerrrang... It got it
Brunetti! For me it's top.
The Mille has a lot in common with CAE but it does its own thing...sort of. Well a whole brunetti amp is quite an experience!
Quick question for you. Did you say in another video that you had a plug in that models power amps? Thanks!
There are several. When I use my IR’s I don’t really need the power amp sim because I created my IR’s with great guitar power amps.
I haven’t really loved the software power amp sims, they all seem too heavy handed.
@@BigHairyGuitars I appreciate the reply. I'm just trying to find a sim where I can plug a preamp into the computer. Thanks for your time.
@@davepaulson287 My favorite way is to use a power amp and a load box, but I also go straight into the computer and us my IR"s. They work well that way.
@@BigHairyGuitars thank you! I’m going to head to your shop and pickup several
If possible you should try out the Brunetti Xtra Lead head if you get the chance, one of my dream amps.. and damn near impossible to find outside Europe. 😔
This is the first Brunetti I’ve ever come across.
@@matteo.borbonese The Xtra Lead is not only a discontinued model, but most of the ones I've found on the used market have either a 220v transformer or a 100v for the East Asian market. There's of course always getting a step up/step down transformer or installing a 120v transformer but it's a lot of extra steps.
Dang it Michael....Lead channel with Modern mode on Mesa 2:90....MORE VOLUME!!!!
You should try xl heads 😉
How does this one compare with the Bogner or the Egnater preamp?
The Egnater is the most versatile. The Bogner has the cool Bogner flavor. The Brunetti has a super cool vintage feel and vibe to it. Also pretty darn versatile.
You should not be on RUclips but on a fucking stage man !!
Your tracks are Amazingggg
Contrats
I follow all your vidéo from France and you are the best guitarist on the tube
I don t know how it s possible to have all this knowledge to be honnest...
Wow! Thanks for the very generous compliment! ☺️
definitely meant to say "Definitive Tube Preamp" Sound is no better than a cheap PV Rockmaster IMO.
For the record, the Rockmaster sounds fantastic!
When are you gonna talk about that cool sweatshirt you are demoing?
Ha! That’s my company Ninja Tracks. I score video games, tv movies etc. 🤘
🤘😎🤘
WOW! All 3 channels sounded really, really good. Yet another reason as to why I'm really starting to not like this kid.
It kinda has a CAE3+ vibe to it.
I hear people say that, but I don’t really hear it that way… we’ll maybe a little
@@BigHairyGuitars I'm sure it sounds different in the room. I bet it would sound good with a VHT power amp.
Funny...it used to be mine for a while !!!
Did you like it?
@@BigHairyGuitars Sure I did but I bought the Custom Release.
This was the first time I did not skip through the clean tone demonstration. Just saying.
You had the day off, meaning you have a day job? Just being nosey. I assumed you did this for a living, given the quality of your content.
Thanks! I’m a full time composer. I score video games and tv film commercials trailers. I try to squeeze in guitar videos when I can.
Dude i think you can make anything sound good..just saying
First good demo of this preamp After 33 years.....american do It better
🤘🤣👍
Seems like a lot of gear just to sound like someone else.... that's the problem with music these days... so much gear.... no originality in most genres...
Boring rabbi
I’m not officially a rabbi, but I might be boring. So I’m awarding you a score of 50%
