There are two Martin Scorsese bio features that I always enjoy. "The Aviator", with Leo DiCaprio as Howard Hughes, and the semi bio, "Hugo" with Ben Kingsley as Georges Méliès, the father of cinema.
My mother just came back from Japan. I asked her to buy me a Japanese movie on Blu-ray disk. In Tokyo, the assistant said that there aren`t many movies with english subs nowadays but anyways at Tower Records in Tokyo. Film was picked for me as "Drive my car". I watched it with my mother and fought meh story but the final lesson was "time heals everything". My mother cried towards the end of the movie. In my opinion, I will watch it only once. Good 3 hours with my mother though. Cost 2750-yen from Tokyo. Fought the quality of video was very good. Also my mother by mistake picked Perfect Days movie. We watched with her 3 times and she saw it 8 times in the cinema. Also, I got it on Blu-ray disk. I will watch it again to compare the image disk quality. Good film too. But the ultimate film for me is Sanjuro which is about samurais. Very good stuff. Black and white. Vintage stuff.
Bohemian Rhapsody was very good. The actor who portrayed Freddie was great and deserved the Oscar. Respect was also great, as I have become a bigger Aretha Franklin fan. I have 2 box sets of all of her Columbia and Atlantic recordings. I just have to get the Arista box. The Post was good. Lincoln was great. Mary Queen of Scots was awesome. I also saw it in the theater. Till is on my watchlist on one of the streaming services. I've heard House of Gucci is very good. I'm uncertain about my interest. Man in the Moon I need to see. Ford vs Ferrari was better than I expected. I saw it in the theater. I remember watching Hollywoodland, but don't have much of an impression of it. I must watch it again. 54 is another must-rewatch for me. J.Edgar was good and interesting. Lady Sings the Blues is a classic. The United States vs. Billie Holiday is a must-see as well. I am a huge Billie Holiday fan. Won't Back Down is now a must-see for me due to the cast and the story. I work for the city of Philadelphia in child welfare and work closely with the Philly School district in my position. Chattahoochee seems interesting and a great cast. Wild was good. 127 Hours was ok. The Eyes of Tammy Faye is a must-see for me. I, Tonya is AWESOME. Great cast.
What an awesome challenge. So glad i came across you. I must do something like this too, cause i have a heap of dvds and absolutely love my collection.
Loved this video Sue and I hope you had a nice new years ❤🎉 Im planning on watching one of my favorite movies, 4k of call me by your name, as Im getting a fancy new tv !
Megan levy and selena great movies wild and invictus good movies. I need to watch my growing pile of never seen/needing a rewatch movies so I can decide to keep or not keep
I am missing two favorites of mine and they are Ray (2004) and The Green Book. These two are such amazing movies and i recently watched Ray again. I might just watch The Green Book this weekend together with Bohemian Rhapsody 🤗
Amadeus is my all time favorite, although it is based on a play and can't really be called a biopic. The theatrical version is finally coming to 4K and I've preordered it, can't wait to see it for the umpteenth time although it bugs me a little they didn't do both theatrical and director's cut.
both the bohemian Rhapsody and the doors are not 100% accurate. the director for the Bohemian Rhapsody play fast and loose with the time line while doors had some stuff there that never really happened. Bohemian Rhapsody I though was an ok movie but felt it was a bit sloppy with the time line and so on. the doors was a far better movie despite having a couple of inaccuracies as well. man on the moon is a fun watch 54 isn't entirely a biopic. it doesn't center around mike mayor pretrial of the studio 54 owner. however, it does center around a character that enter that world of studio 54. it a decent movie. Glory isn't bad. Invictus is a great movie. it does dragged on a bit in the end but it worth watching plus Clint Eastwood directed it. the fighter is ok but worth watching once. I would recommend checking out BLOW with Johnny Depp. it worth giving a shot. another one is Walk The Line
@@MoviesSue oh sorry, I thought you have not yet see those. yeah, liberties are the most part are a bit a drag at times. there is one more you may or may not seen that is worth looking at. it called pirates of silicon valley. it a biopic of both Steve Jobs and Bill Gates but it focus mostly on Jobs. it was a originally a made for tv movie. this one came in the late 90's early 2000's. it kind hard to find nowadays btw.
Elvis with Russell from 1979 and the doors, both great films, seen them multiple times
I'm re-watchìng all my movies making a list to count all of them might take 2 to 3 years
Watch MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS, the version with Glenda Jackson and Vanessa Redgrave.

I’m thinking of doing courtroom/law movies it’d be pretty fun. I’ve never done a “genre month” so this would be a cool experience.

Liberties are always taken when making biopics. Nothing new there. I've seen Blow and Walk The Line. I'm trying to focus on movies I haven't seen.
