What a good sounding guitar! Always liked the cleans you get from a good hollow-body. Reminds me a bit of my dad's 60s Hofner.
I've become a bigger fan of hollow/semi-hollow guitars in the past few years! I used to only play solid bodies back in my punk rock days, haha. The Classic 6 is such a nice player and it sounds great. Like you said, it reminds me of an old classic guitar so I had to use a song from That Thing You Do!
You're taking me back to the 60s. The problem with the 60s was you couldn't get an affordable guitar of this quality in this price range (accounting for inflation).
Thanks for watching!
Love the sly "That Thing You Do" reference.
YES!! It's always been my favorite Oneders track!! hahah
I've got a Classic 12 myself, the fireburst finish looks simply beautiful 😍
It sounds great and those EW Retro pickups are brilliant considering they're fairly inexpensive, you can get great tones in every position and it's one of the only guitars I've ever owned that I've never thought that 'upgrading' the pickups could improve the sound of the guitar, the Retros are perfect for the guitar and I don't think you can make it sound any better. It's by far the best electric 12 string I've ever played, heard, and in the case of the fireburst finish, the best I've ever seen. It's solidly built and for a semi hollow, it weighs a ton. The weight doesn't bother me, the neck is like a baseball bat, in fact my capo is too small to fit round the neck 😆
I'd quite like a couple of other Eastwood guitars but I can't afford any at the moment. I wouldn't mind a Classic 6 so I might just put 6 strings on instead of 12....the fretboard might be a bit wide with it being 2 eighths of an inch wider than a Classic 6 but I might still try it. I wouldn't mind a Classic AC as well, and a Rivolta Combinato VIII I think it's called, the one with 3 P90s that has a lovely Autunno Burst finish, but that's a bit pricey at around 1200 quid, but yeh, that's a lovely looking guitar too 👍
Thanks for watching
Finally a nice affordable semi hollow for lefties. As well as blues and rock, would this be useable for jazz and rockabilly as well?
Thanks so much for watching! I think this guitar could definitely be used for jazz and rockabilly. The only modification/upgrade that *may* need to be made would be replacing pickups but the stock ones are totally fine sounding! 👍👍
@@EricMerrow sounds great. I dont quite have the money yet but when i do I'll seriously consider this.
I want this guitar!
I think Eastwood is running a black friday sale this weekend so it may be a good time to think about it! Thanks for watching!
Hey, I'd like it. But now it's imposible. What do you think about Gretsch G2622LH SBS Streamliner? What's the real different with your guitar? Thanks!
@@mikesun5263 The guitar in this video is an Eastwood guitar based on classic Gretsch designs so this and the Gretsch model you mentioned are probably pretty similar. At a quick glance, the electronics are a bit different, the pickups are definitely not the same and I'm sure different types of wood are used in both.
All My Only Dreams. ;)
You got it!!
"polyamorous triumvirate of joy" Eric you're too much! Anyway, yeah, I'm getting more and more intrigued by Eastwood because they're so lefty-friendly. Any thoughts concerning build quality/QC etc?
I've been able to demo 3 of Eastwood's guitars and all have been good. Playable right out of the box, for sure. My personal favorite has been the Mondata.
Strange phasing sound with this guitar. I prefer the Malcolm young model
